Yu Xiaoqiang ca to pick up Qian.
Although he still looked the sa, Qian always felt sothing was off about him, maybe he was unusually deep today? Wearing sunglasses?
Wearing sunglasses at night was not a first for Yu Xiaoqiang. Based on Qian’s understanding of him, when this guy wears sunglasses at night, either he’s in a bad mood and doesn’t want others to notice, or he’s trying to show off. But she couldn’t figure out today’s situation.
Unaware that she’d been betrayed by her close friends, Qian had no idea Yu Xiaoqiang was filled with cunning plans, just waiting to settle scores over the spa issue.
Shuixian saw the expression on Yu Minglang’s face and knew Qian was going to get lectured tonight. Oh well, for victory, fire away at Qian’er~
Yu Minglang put on his sunglasses, not wanting Qian to know what he was thinking.
They were supposed to drive to the new ho to discuss life and perhaps do sothing new, but Qian didn’t get in Minglang’s car; instead, she walked up to Mai and asked.
"Shuixian told you’re a retired spy?"
A cold sweat broke out on Mai’s back, as he had an ominous feeling...
The look on her face now was similar to when she accidentally mixed mop water into the soup.
"Yes."
"Perfect, you’re a retired spy. We have a martial arts enthusiast at ho, how about you spar with him? Is that okay, Xiaoqiang?" Qian turned to ask Yu Minglang.
Yu Minglang glanced at her, acting haughty, not wishing to answer this woman who was fantasizing about the spa.
"Honey, is it okay?"
"Okay!"
The words were out of Yu Minglang’s mouth before he could stop himself. Damn, why couldn’t he control himself? Every ti she called him "husband," his spirit vanished, so much for being haughty all the way!
When it cos to his wife’s sweet "husband," no amount of pride can resist!
Since he’d been given a dose of Qian’s seductive soup, Yu Minglang wouldn’t let Qian lose face in front of others. He looked through his sunglasses at the man opposite.
The guy’s height was decent, and he seed to have muscles, but calling him a retired spy, Xiaoqiang was skeptical.
He looked at Qian inquisitively, really spar with this weakling? If he injures the Teng family mber, can they be compensated? Injuring a bodyguard counts as an occupational injury, right?
What was his wife up to?
Qian playfully winked at him, and Xiaoqiang imdiately understood.
Oh, his wife wanted to ss with this guy claiming to be a spy?
Yu Minglang flexed his wrist with a confident smile at Mai, who inwardly groaned but couldn’t let it show. He had a feeling he might get beaten up by this good-looking man...
How could he escape this situation? Mai seriously pondered this question.
Just as Yu Minglang was about to step in and knock this guy out with a punch, Liui arrived.
"Brother, can I try?"
Liui practiced martial arts and loved sparring with others. Although she sotis managed a draw with Mr. Yu, she found sparring with pilots not very fulfilling, nothing like facing a real expert.
Hearing about a retired "spy" from M Country, Liui was thrilled.
Mai was excited too, great, a woman!
Won, to him, were synonymous with being brainless and weak. He thought he couldn’t beat Yu Minglang, but bullying a girl shouldn’t be hard, right?
Mahadi carried a dismissive attitude towards won throughout his life. Before he sched to beco Shuixian’s bodyguard, he always viewed won as brainless weaklings who could easily be lured with a bit of sweetness.
However, Qian’s actions at the restaurant earlier had shocked and challenged his view that won were brainless.
eting Liui, he was about to change his impression of won being weak, although he didn’t know it yet.
"A man fighting a woman doesn’t seem right." Mai said coolly to Liui.
But what he actually thought was, go ahead, fight; if I knock down this tall woman, my disguise is safe, oh ~ yes!!
"It’s okay, go ahead." Qian had seen Liui’s skills and felt confident.
Liui struck a pose that made Mai feel uneasy; what if she was truly a martial artist?
He had learned so kickboxing, but only at an amateur level—it was enough to fool regular people but not a true martial artist.
When he applied for the job at the Teng family, he used a fake identity and résumé to fool Teng Daye into thinking he really was a spy.
Rich people hired bodyguards, but with the country’s good security, bodyguards mostly served as decorations, no one would harm Shuixian, so Mai’s disguise was safe for a long ti.
The last thing he expected was that after spending less than a day with Qian, his disguise was on the verge of being exposed!
"Have you trained?" Mai asked Liui.
Liui modestly replied, "I studied for a few years. I won the won’s group in the national martial arts championship, even though I held on to this title for several seasons. But with so many talented people in our country, many masters live in seclusion. I can’t represent our true martial arts levels; if I lose, it doesn’t an our martial arts aren’t good."
Saying this, she glanced at her brother and sister-in-law to see if it sounded credible.
Because she could see Mai wasn’t a native, Liui couldn’t help wanting to spar with a "master," fearing she’d disgrace herself with a loss.
Qian gave her a thumbs up, pretending not to notice Mai’s uneasy expression.
Serves you right for pretending to be a spy, now you’re stuck!
Liui, despite being a girl, had no problem beating up two big guys.
Yu Minglang crossed his arms, smiling as he watched his wife set a trap for soone else to fall into.
Seeing the "retired spy" disguise about to be ruined, Mai quickly ca up with a plan.
"You’re a girl, I’m a man; fighting isn’t fair. I’m afraid of hurting you. How about we test our punch strength instead?"
Liui paused, "Punch strength?"
"I heard your country’s martial arts emphasize Inner Strength; let’s smash bricks and see who breaks more."
"I’m not very good at breaking bricks..." Liui felt a bit awkward because her martial arts focused on using minimal effort to overco greater force with softness.
Isn’t breaking bricks Minglang’s specialty?
Mai was secretly pleased, thinking, yes, it’s good you’re not skilled at it!
He had a "magic item," used to fool Teng Daye during his application at the Teng family, besides the fake résumé, which got him the job as the bodyguard for Teng family’s sole daughter.
"Liui, go ahead and challenge him." Yu Minglang spoke, Qian looked at him, and Yu Minglang nodded.
Qian had suspicions about this man, so she orchestrated this event to probe Mai, signaling Yu Minglang to watch for any tricks.
What others might miss, Yu Minglang surely wouldn’t.
Near the won’s club was a construction site with plenty of bricks.
The bricks of this era weren’t as hard as they would be in ten years, but they were certainly sturdy enough.
Watching Mai pile up two stacks of bricks, Liui felt uneasy looking at her brother and sister-in-law. Should she really break them? She wasn’t capable!
Yu Minglang gave her a reassuring look, then courteously said to Mai,
"You first."
