The expert looked a bit tense when Qian asked him in a foreign language, but he still pretended to be calm in his response.
"So what if I am? It was your people who invited here; we have a contract."
"Contract? Your contract isn’t even legal. Don’t think that just because you’re a foreigner, our country’s laws can’t deal with you!"
"You don’t have the right to do this—ah!" The translator was slapped in the face by Qian, and he wanted to retaliate, but Yu Minglang held his wrist, causing him pain and making him yelp.
"Helping a foreigner scam your own compatriots, if this were warti, you’d be guilty of colluding with the enemy!" Yu Minglang looked down on people like this.
It was clear from the conversation between the fake expert and the translator that the translator knew all along that the expert was a fraud and deliberately cooperated to scam Qiuqiu’s dad out of money, intending to harm Qiuqiu.
If Qiuqiu’s dad had reasons for imprisoning Qiuqiu, albeit misguided, they weren’t unforgivable.
But these two intentionally committing fraud and using such despicable thods to extort money were indeed contemptible.
"Show the contract!" Qian, now protected by Xiaoqiang, was more assertive, while the translator, still restrained, sensed Yu Minglang’s strength and fearso presence and dared not act recklessly, ekly begging for rcy.
"Let get in the car; it’s in the briefcase..."
Yu Minglang released his grip, and the translator quickly climbed into the car, attempting to start the engine and escape!
Escaping right in front of Xiaoqiang was out of the question!
The translator felt his arm go limp as Yu Minglang followed him in, pulling him out and pinning him under foot, while Qian swiftly entered the car, found the briefcase in the back seat, and retrieved the contract and a check.
The amount on the check filled Qian with rage.
200,000; Qiuqiu’s father spent so much money just to get two scoundrels to suggest shocking Qiuqiu as a solution?
"Keep all this for evidence. Sue them for illegal practice across borders. Let them face the consequences for such shaless acts in our country!" Qian threw the briefcase to Yu Minglang and kicked the shaless translator.
Yu Minglang secured the briefcase and added, "Also sue this guy for car theft."
Seeing the commotion, the airport patrol ca over. Yu Minglang looked at the distance and pointed out a spot to Qian.
"You have two minutes to settle this, can you handle it? It’s a blind spot from visual surveillance."
"More than enough!"
Seeing the situation turning against him, the fake expert tried to escape but felt a strong grip from behind as soone grabbed his collar.
"Where do you think you’re going? Let’s discuss the problem of using shock therapy for disobedience." Yu Minglang said casually, as Liui and Aka dragged the fake expert toward the visual dead spot.
"Let’s talk this out! I’m a foreigner; I demand protection! I demand—ah!" The fake expert covered his eyes as Qian withdrew her fist. Yu Minglang raised an eyebrow.
Hmm, seems like my wife is showing a tendency to embrace force without turning back!
"I’m representing the international psychiatric community to beat you up, you disrespectful mber of the scientific community!"
Xiaoqiang gave her a thumbs up; how mighty his wife was!
"I am an expert; I’m an international authority on psychology!"
"Ha, violence is never a solution to correct mistakes, your thod was flawed from the start, the international psychology industry feels ashad because of scum like you! Before the police get here, beat him good; the principle is it must hurt more than the shock therapy, not less!"
Qian silently raised her middle finger, maintaining her swagger throughout the foreign language tirade.
At the police station, Qiuqiu’s dad was dumbfounded.
The "expert" he had hired with a large sum turned out to be just an unemployed foreign vagrant!
When checked at the police station, everything was revealed.
The translator quickly confessed to the whole story, explaining that after graduation he hadn’t found a suitable job and had gotten into the bad habit of gambling. He heard that Qiuqiu’s dad had beco a sudden tycoon from mining, yet had a problematic daughter which worried him, so he devised a cunning plan.
He found a foreigner and set up this scam.
All the treatnt was randomly picked from books; they didn’t know if it was right or not. Since soone like Qiuqiu’s dad just believed foreign monks could chant better, simply speaking foreign languages and posing as experts with fake credentials was enough to convince him.
Moreover, the fake expert had read a bit on psychology, picked up so basics, and using so industry terms was enough for Qiuqiu’s dad to believe it was genuine.
Upon hearing this, Qian didn’t know whether to call Qiuqiu’s dad rich and foolishly gullible, or say that these two schers were just incredibly lucky. Where did this shock therapy thod even co from?
When the fake expert ntioned a book title, Qian nearly exploded.
It was similar to unverified folk redies, a worthless pamphlet, yet they used it to con a whole 200,000!
If Qian and her group hadn’t arrived in ti, losing money would have been the least of Qiuqiu’s dad’s worries; Qiuqiu would have suffered imnsely!
The two were detained, as Qiuqiu’s dad and his group left the police station, in a daze.
He thought he’d found a solution for his child’s issues, but who would have thought...it was all a scam?
Qiuqiu initially wanted to mock his dad, but seeing his expression, swallowed her words.
"Qiuqiu..." As the group reached the entrance and Qiuqiu was about to leave with Qian and the others, his dad called him, his voice sounding years older.
"What do you want?" Qiuqiu turned reluctantly.
"Co ho with dad..."
"Planning to hire a few more experts to shock ? Haven’t you seen enough of making a spectacle of ? Mr. Tycoon, if your wealth grew alongside your thoughts, you wouldn’t be swindled this badly!"
Qiuqiu’s words deeply impacted his father, whose expression turned lancholic.
Looking at the aging man, Qiuqiu was filled more with bad childhood mories.
When he was young, his mother passed away, and his father, with his preference for sons, beat him daily, always claiming daughters were useless. He began to fear wearing girls’ clothes or keeping long hair, hoping these gestures would make his father forget he was a girl and stop hitting him. Gradually, he embraced being male and found his true self.
During his youth, watching his father’s business failures, the man would vent his frustrations with alcohol and beat him, bitterly asking why he wasn’t a son.
Later, he left ho, went to college, and found a lifestyle that suited him, but couldn’t escape his father’s beatings. Eventually, his father won a stroke of luck, becoming a tycoon and started fraternizing with won, seemingly wanting another "real" son.
But heaven did not favor this man. He made money out of nowhere but never had a son, his only child was still Qiuqiu.
Facing his graying father, Qiuqiu felt nothing but apathy, even disdain.
This old man had caused a misaligned life for him, and now wanted to lock him away, forcing him into things he didn’t want to do; what was his true aim?
