As soon as the call connected, Mr Liu’s roar blasted through.
"Chen Xiaoqian, you planning to start a rebellion or what? Going out to save soone is such a big deal, even Old Qi knows about it and you actually hid it from ! You have no idea how disgusting his smug face was when he ca to show off in front of today!"
Listening to Mr Liu’s accusations, Qian’s mind went blank.
This guy, Mr. Qio, who in her mind should’ve already exited the stage of history, how did he suddenly show up at her teacher’s place? Total mystery...
And that whole speech her teacher just gave—why did the amount of information feel a bit overwhelming?
"Teacher, is it who’s not awake yet or are you the one still half-asleep?"
"Don’t play dumb with ! I’m talking about you! Why’d you tell Old Qi and not tell ?!"
"...I didn’t tell him either!" Qian was stunned too.
"Co to school in half an hour, I need to talk to you about what you did this ti! And don’t think I’m going to praise you!"
Given Mr Liu’s tsundere personality, for her to say sothing like "don’t think I’m going to praise you" basically ant she was ten out of eight sure in favor; she just had to put up a token show of resistance for the sake of face.
Qian wasn’t worried about getting scolded; she was still stuck on the whole Mr. Qio situation.
She hurried through breakfast, did a quick tidy-up and headed to campus. Following Mr Liu’s instructions, she went to her office, knocked and went in, and froze the second she stepped inside.
Why is it him!
A man in a white casual outfit was sitting on Mr Liu’s desk. Yes, sitting!
Mr Liu, face black as thunder, was locked in a staring contest with him. When they saw Qian co in, the two of them turned at the exact sa ti.
The three of them all stared at each other, wide-eyed.
"You...?!" Qian had imagined countless possibilities on the way here, but the mont she saw Mr. Qio, she was still shocked.
This man had been popping up in her world over and over again in such a short ti, once, twice, three tis—and now he’d actually turned up in her teacher’s office?
"Hi~" Qio Yu Xuan waved at Qian.
Even though Mr Liu couldn’t stand Mr. Qio, for Qian’s future she still had to grit her teeth and make the introductions.
"You two have already t, right? Qian, Mr. Qio has been waiting here for you for quite a while."
Mr... Qio... beast?!
Is he so kind of talking beast?
"I’ve long heard that Little Liu has an exceptionally outstanding student under her wing. We’ve t a few tis now, and you really haven’t let down."
Mr. Qio smiled at Qian, while the little man in his heart stood akimbo and laughed wildly. Hahaha!
Qian’s expression right now couldn’t be more adorable!
Up till now this girl had always been like a little wooden puppet, expressionless, playing deep at such a young age, constantly wearing a look that no one could guess what she was thinking. And now she finally had a dazed, cute expression. If Mr Liu weren’t here, Qio Yu Xuan would really want to pinch her little face—so cute~
"He’s a fake, right?" Qian finally snapped out of it.
"Qian!" Mr Liu was displeased with Qian’s out-of-character reaction. Even though she herself also found this Qio Yu Xuan annoying, so things were fine to think in your heart, but how could you say them out loud?
"I’m the genuine article, you know." Qio Yu Xuan wasn’t angry at all.
True to her reputation as a battle-hardened girl boss, Qian only needed a few seconds to reboot her brain. She walked up to Mr. Qio and silently locked eyes with him for a few seconds.
This wasn’t their first eting, but every ti they t, he gave Qian a different feeling.
The first ti, he was a restaurant owner. Even in a chef’s uniform, he had the vibe of a philosopher.
The second ti, he pretended to be a patient in the psychiatric hospital, yet his speech remained unfathomable.
The third ti, Qian was doing end-of-life counseling for an elderly man; he stood with the patient’s family, smiling as he watched her "treat."
Now he’d appeared in Mr Liu’s office and transford into a world-renowned authority in psychiatry.
When Mr Liu introduced him, Qian felt a mix of "totally unexpected" and "weirdly logical."
Unexpected that he was Mr. Qio, but for soone with that kind of personality, that kind of aura and that faintly neurotic vibe—of course he should be a psychologist.
Now that she knew who he was, standing in front of him again, Qian looked straight into his eyes, examining him carefully once more.
His eyes were deep and unreadable, with smile lines at the corners, giving off a kind of devil-may-care feeling. His casual getup made him look just over thirty, with a touch of urban yuppie to him. One look and you’d know he was a player.
At this mont, Qio Yu Xuan was also looking at Qian, his gaze full of affection and interest. He really wanted to know what she would do when he tore off his disguise and stood in front of her like this.
Qian answered him very quickly.
"Smack!"
The mont her palm landed on Qio Yu Xuan’s face, the whole world seed to freeze.
Qian’s slap ca with zero guilt. That’s for your little role-play, for toying with —serves you right, bastard!
Mr Liu didn’t react at all at first. All she saw was her beloved student and Mr. Qio staring each other down, and then Qian just reached out and slapped him.
Slapped. Him!!!
Underwear, underwear—several bolts of lightning were zapping back and forth over Mr Liu’s head, charring her crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
"You... hit ?" Qio Yu Xuan covered his face, looking utterly wronged.
"Yeah, I hit you! And I’m not just hitting you, I’m kicking you too!" Qian used the won’s self-defense moves Xiaoqiang had taught her—driving her elbow into his stomach, then punching his chest, and finally going for his eyes with her fingers!
Her three-move combo was so smooth and practiced that after getting pumled twice, Qio Yu Xuan finally couldn’t hold back on the third. He quickly grabbed Qian’s wrist, and Qian felt a burning pain shoot through it.
This guy was trained; his skills were definitely no worse than Aka’s level. You could tell from that one move.
Qio Yu Xuan originally hadn’t planned to fight back, but if he didn’t block that last one, this girl really would’ve poked his eyes out! His counter was pure instinct.
Qian frowned in pain, and Qio Yu Xuan quickly let go, asking in frustration,
"Are you okay? I’m sorry, I didn’t control my strength!"
He leaned in closer, and Qian raised her hand and slapped him again!
"Smack!"
"Even my husband can’t bear to hit , who the hell do you think you are, daring to lay a hand on ?" She grabbed the pen holder on the desk and was about to smash it at him!
Qio Yu Xuan dodged in a panic. "If he dares hit you, I won’t let him off either... ah!"
"Enough! Qian, what are you doing!" Mr Liu finally snapped out of it. She rushed over to pull Qian back; Qian was still trying to kick him!
"I’m beating up this impostor! Teacher, this guy’s so young, how could he possibly be Mr. Qio? In our field, seniority is everything. Even if he’s so kind of genius who fast-tracked his way to a postdoc, without a massive accumulation of cases, how could he ever be an authority?"
Qian voiced her doubts.
Whether this guy was real or fake, she’d hit first and talk later. If he was fake, she’d beat him till he ran. If he was real, she refused to believe he’d still have the face to take her on as a student after getting thrashed like this. Either way, he’d already treated her like a toy before—no harm in beating him a little extra!
Having made up her mind, Qian continued chasing Mr. Qio around, throwing punches.
"Speak! Are you a human trafficker or running so pyramid sche? What were you planning to do to !"
