"Are you serious?" Wu Tian asked calmly.
The won, especially the one with the triangular eyes, thought Wu Tian had finally decided to buy them. And the chubby girl? She’s always been bullied by them here.
Seeing that Wu Tian was about to pass over the chubby girl for them, the triangular-eyed woman’s smile widened. "Yes, sir," she said. "If you don’t buy us, then you must have so... special tastes. A thing for fat girls, for instance. If word of that gets out, it won’t be good for your reputation."
Wu Tian chuckled. He couldn’t understand these won at all. They were all poor, so why couldn’t they help each other? Why resort to discrimination? They had such low status, yet instead of striving to improve, they had only learned how to be vicious with their words.
Wu Tian looked at the little girl and asked, "What do you think we should do with these won?"
The little girl answered seriously, "Beat them up! They don’t recognize their own status or understand the situation they’re in. They’ve fallen this far and still don’t know how to better themselves. They’re so thick-skinned, they deserve a beating!"
Wu Tian nodded.
The won finally understood his intentions. If they didn’t get it by now, they were complete fools. Wu Tian had angered them, but he was a grown man, and they didn’t dare get physical. All they could do was lash out with their words.
"Little girl, don’t you have any manners?"
"That’s right. We’re your aunts, you know."
"Didn’t your teacher teach you to respect your elders? Hurry up and apologize."
Watching this unfold, Wu Tian sighed. What kind of people were they? Stuck in the mud, yet instead of trying to climb out, they shalessly acted as if they held so high station. What kind of people were they? All equally poor, yet they ostracized their own, knowing nothing of unity or mutual support. It’s as if the poor have their own hierarchy of kings and subjects. Do they think they’re the noble poor, and others are the lowly poor? How ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous!
The little girl gnashed her teeth, struggled down from Wu Tian’s arms, then beckoned to the won with a small finger. In a childish but firm voice, she said, "Hey, you slly hags! I hate people like you the most. In TV dramas, you’re the type of evil won who always die a horrible death."
"What did you say? Have you no upbringing?" the triangular-eyed woman shrieked, and the others quickly joined in.
"Manners are for good won, not bad ones," the little girl said coldly, imdiately rushing toward the "bad won" she had just condemned.
The triangular-eyed woman smirked. They wouldn’t dare lay a hand on Wu Tian’s daughter in front of him, but now the child was coming to them. That changed things. The won decided it was ti to teach the little girl a lesson.
But just as the thought crossed their minds, the little girl’s speed suddenly accelerated.
What!
These won, of course, had no Spirit Roots. If they did, why would they be here, selling themselves to pay for a parent’s burial?
The little girl was like a wolf pouncing on a flock of sheep.
"AH!"
"Please, don’t hit my face!"
"Don’t hit my face either!"
These won were quite holy, yet they considered themselves beautiful. Their vanity had eroded what little dignity they had. They pleaded for the little girl to spare their faces, but a mont later, she had beaten them until they were black and blue. They lay on the ground, barely breathing.
"Heh, just because you’re won doesn’t an I won’t hit you," the little girl scoffed, mimicking the line Wu Tian had used on the old man earlier.
This made Wu Tian not know whether to laugh or cry. But he had more important things to deal with. He walked over to the chubby girl, who shrank back in fear. It was obvious how much she had been bullied here.
Wu Tian checked the chubby girl and was surprised to feel the presence of immortal power on her. But how could soone with immortal power be bullied? And how did she get it in the first place?
He examined her closely. She showed no signs of cultivation; her body was that of an ordinary mortal. Wu Tian, having awakened his own Spirit Root, understood their principles, but he couldn’t sense one in the chubby girl at all.
This is strange. I have to take her back and question her properly.
Wu Tian himself was very curious about immortals. Immortals and the world of Fantasy... how different are they?
Wu Tian looked at the chubby girl and smiled. "Co back with ."
"Are... are you trying to trick ?"
The chubby girl was still afraid, but hearing his words, she couldn’t help but look up slightly. Her voice, when she spoke, was surprisingly lodious.
The sweet sound of it surprised both Wu Tian and the little girl. After a mont of thought, however, Wu Tian understood. So people are bullied not just because they are weak. Sotis, their unique strengths attract the jealousy of others. He knew of one of the four great Immortal Emperors who had been very quiet and honest as a child. He never provoked anyone, yet trouble always found him. Many people enjoyed bullying him. Why? Because that future Immortal Emperor was a brilliant artist. The others couldn’t stand it. ’Why should a nobody like you be better at drawing than us?’ they would think. And so, they bullied him relentlessly. After he beca an Immortal Emperor, those bullies vanished, too ashad to ever show their faces again.
No matter what Wu Tian said, the chubby girl remained on her guard, a clear sign she had been bullied for a long ti.
In the end, the little girl had to step in. After just a few words from her, the chubby girl agreed. "Okay, okay, okay, I’ll go back with you."
Wu Tian was speechless. What blatant favoritism!
「Back at Peach Blossom Spring.」
Just as Wu Tian was about to ask the chubby girl about the immortal power she possessed, his Spiritual Sense detected visitors at No Heaven Villa. He told the little girl to stay with the newcor while he went to the main hall.
The visitors hadn’t even knocked, simply walking straight into the villa. What poor manners. Wu Tian felt a sense of displeasure before he even saw them.
In the main hall, besides Qin Yuhan, Yin Fengxue, and the others, were three newcors. These three were speaking with Yin Fengxue and Liu Tianji as equals. When Yin Fengxue and Liu Tianji saw Wu Tian arrive, they beckoned him over. Liu Tianji made the introduction, "Of the great powers—the One Religion, Two Alliances, Three Demons, Four Families, Five Swords, and Six Sects—the Righteous Alliance, one of the two alliances, has already been destroyed. However, the identities of these n are not to be taken lightly. These three are from the Five Swords!"
Three Jerks? The na certainly seems to fit.
As Liu Tianji introduced them, the three n unconsciously puffed out their chests. People like this think far too highly of themselves. In my eyes, they’re no better than monkeys.
Wu Tian simply responded with a flat, "Oh."
The Three Swords frowned slightly. Is our reputation not great enough to impress him?
Yet, they didn’t dare show any anger. They had been sent by Luo Qingyi to investigate Wu Tian—his birth date, his preferences, what he liked to eat, and so on. Though each of them was over a thousand years old, it was clear to them that Luo Qingyi had taken a liking to this handso young man.
