The switch in Annabelle’s head snapped. She never knew it was there until it broke.

All the rules, all the promises — gone. The thing that kept her steady, that kept her from tearing the world apart, fell away like dry skin.

She had always held back. Even against Zerathos, even in the forest when she fought for her life, she had kept one hand on the reins. Three elents lived in her, but she let only one breathe. Life itself could flip that switch — but it hadn’t. She wasn’t the trigger.

It was..

...her darling.

He was the lock on her anger. As long as he was safe, she could watch cities burn and not care. She could lose herself to the fire and still co back. But when she heard he was gone — taken, nearly killed — the world shifted under her feet.

He died.

He was stolen.

She felt the theft like a blade. A possible future where she could not see him, could not hear his voice, could not touch his skin...it stabbed her. The thought of him hurt in her chest. That hurt tasted like iron.

That sin — taking him — had a price.

She wanted blood.

Not the soft sick-blood of a dog. Not the clean surrender of a wound. She wanted the bright wet slap of life ending. She wanted the hot, red truth of it — flesh torn, bone cracked, the raw sound n make when they know they are done. She wanted the world to know the cost.

Her hands twitched. Her eyes went small and bright. The sky, the trees, the people — everything narrowed until only the shape of the man who had taken him remained. Anger beca a blade. Rage beca a storm. Pain beca hunger.

She moved like a predator. Quiet at first. Then like thunder. Limbs flew. Blood spurted in the air, a spray of scarlet that slled of tal and old rain. Screams broke like dry glass. Bodies fell, one after the other, until the ground was slick and shining.

She laughed once — low and hard — because it was beautiful and terrible to watch them end. She did not stop. She could not stop. Each cut, each spill, fed the place inside her which had turned hollow.

Massacre. Blood. She needed blood.

"Hold her!" one of the soldiers shouted, unleashing a binding spell that spiraled toward her.

Annabelle didn’t move. Her grin widened, teeth glinting under the pale flashes of lightning. The spell hit—then sizzled out like water on molten rock.

Her eyes flicked up. A cruel shimr passed through them.

She drew her formless sword and swung once.

A sound tore through the air.

*CRACKLE!*

Thunder roared, and bodies split cleanly in half before they even realized they’d been struck. The Acolytes collapsed in mangled heaps, twitching as blood ran like dark rivers across the floor.

Archers scread and loosed their arrows. She didn’t bother to move. So bolts turned to ash midair. The rest found their mark, stabbing into her flesh.

Annabelle only tilted her head.

"SHE’S POISONED! NOW!" soone cried.

A blur of shadows leapt from the sides—assassins. Daggers glead with venom, slicing through smoke and fear.

Annabelle stepped forward. Her sword spun once, and the first man’s scream was cut short as her blade coiled around his throat. With a jerk, she slamd his body into another, bones cracking like dry wood.

The remaining two rushed her. She didn’t even reach for her weapon.

A sudden flash—then silence.

Their bodies staggered past her, headless. The two skulls landed behind her feet with hollow thuds, eyes still wide with confusion.

Annabelle giggled, crouching low to lift both heads by their hair. "Were you that eager to die?"

The heads exploded between her fingers. Blood splattered across her cheeks, dripping down her neck and seeping into the torn fabric of her clothes.

When she looked up, over fifty Acolytes stood frozen, fear carving deep into their faces.

Her entire body was painted red. The blood glistened like fresh paint, thick and heavy, clinging to her skin. Only her eyes shone through that mask—cold, electric blue.

She wasn’t breathing hard. She wasn’t trembling. She looked hungry.

Lightning growled across the clouds above.

"Thank you for gathering together," she said softly, her voice dragging like tal over stone. "It saves the trouble of chasing you down."

She crouched, then leapt.

The ground shattered beneath her feet. The sky answered with a deafening roar. Bolts coiled around her like serpents, wrapping her in silver fire as she soared upward.

Every Acolyte felt it—the weight of a storm descending. Knees buckled, weapons slipped from hands. So tried to run; most couldn’t even breathe.

In that instant, Annabelle wasn’t human. She was a tempest in flesh—a creature born from thunder and wrath, falling from the sky to drown the earth in blood.

**DOOOOOM**

Thunder crackled more violently than it ever did in the sky.

Every single Acolyte was struck by it, turned into standing corpses.

They never had the chance to run away, let alone counter her.

Within minutes, Annabelle had executed more than three hundred Acolytes in a fit of rage.

And unsurprisingly, she was still very angry.

So angry that she couldn’t stop herself from laughing often.

"Bella!" Just then, a voice rang from behind

Annabelle spun on her feet, her eyes widened.

There stood a man whom she didn’t want to face at the mont.

"Darling..." she voiced, suddenly a little aware that she was in a bad condition to face him

She started wiping the blood and gore off her face as Adrian advanced toward her.

Ruby and Ariana could only stare in shock, their mind turning blank at the sight of the graveyard before them.

Jean and Eros, who had arrived with Adrian, had the sa reaction.

No human in this world could possibly stomach the sight that Annabelle has created.

It was, simply, inhumane.

However, Adrian didn’t focus on his surroundings.

He didn’t think about where they were.

He didn’t think about what she had caused.

All he wanted was to hold the girl.

And so, he did what he wanted.

*DHAK*

Wrapping his arms around the girl, he tightly embraced Annabelle.

"D-Darling...I am dirty...your clothes..." she faintly muttered but showed no sign of moving away.

She needed this as much as him.

Adrian shushed her before saying, "It hurts to see you like this. Please calm down."

Annabelle’s shoulders lost strength as she replied, "Mm...I am sorry."

Patting her back, he said, "Are you hurt sowhere?"

Annabelle humd again, urging Adrian to part from her and ask, "Where it hurts?"

Annabelle pointed towards the left side of her chest and said, "My heart...it’s still restless. Can I kill just one more to relieve this pain?"

Adrian knew exactly who she was talking about that’s why, he just sighed and gave her a nod.

"Go...bring him to ."
