"Where arrrreee youuuu, sweetyyyy," a guard said, stretching his words as he walked in the tunnel of Mine Number 5. "And what was that na you were muttering while running? Morning..."
"Was it you who laid hands on her?" my voice echoed in the cave.
"Who the hell are you, slave?" the guard demanded as my appearance cleared under the light of the Soul stone.
I stood in front of him carrying a sledgehamr in my hand.
"I'm Lucifer Morning Star," I declared. "However, for a fucker like you, it's Daddy Morning Star."
"So are you the hero who ca to save the princess in distress?" he mocked. "Know your place, you morning star or whatever—"
"Blink."
As he was speaking, the sledgehamr struck his temple with a thunderous thud.
The impact slamd the bastard sideways, his head hitting the ground first.
Without wasting a further mont on him, I ca out of the cave within a second using the 'blink'.
Outside, there were several people gathered before the empty chair of the watchman—might be waiting to receive their tasks.
"Sir Morning Star!" Edrick called, erging from the crowd.
"Th-the new watchman and his group forcefully took Lady Silvia to the basent at the left end of the village," Edrick blurted. "They might have already done sothing terrible—"
"Edrick, gather all the slaves in front of the basent," I ordered, then vanished, leaving only a trail of golden lightning.
As I moved through the village, I realised there wasn't a single guard present in the whole area.
At the village's left end, I found a path dug into the ground leading downward.
"So all the bastards are inside," I mumbled before walking down the declining path.
The route led to a large basent filled with a strong tallic scent. There were nurous wooden crates placed along the side walls of the basent with warnings of explosives written on them.
All the goons were gathered at the centre with their leader—the man with the facial structure of a bull—sitting on one of the explosive boxes before them.
Silvia was tied to a pole beside him, her body bare to the cold air and her eyes bursting with tears.
"I-I beg you. Pl-please don't do this," Silvia's cracking voice filled the basent.
"Sir Victor surely doesn't hold back when it cos to rewarding his subordinates," the bastard sitting on the box laughed. "When I captured that huge Awakener a few days ago, I requested the leader to provide with the most beautiful woman from the city. Who would have thought he would actually send soone from his own branch family here? And not just one—he sent the pair of these beauties."
Several lecherous laughs followed as he stopped for a brief mont.
"Oy, what's taking him so long to bring that other bitch? I want to taste both of them at the sa ti."
"Sir Thomas, I think he's started enjoying her to himself."
"Tsk, I was going to give these bitches to you all once I had played with them. He will pay for spoiling my fun."
He stepped up from the box, reached closer to Silvia, moved his hand between her legs—and the mont he was about to defile her, a commanding tone filled the room as I spoke, "Move your hand an inch closer and you'll die a death more grueso than you can imagine."
Hearing the sudden dominating voice, his hands instantly moved backward as if his survival instinct had kicked in.
The guards turned, their faces following the imperious voice they had just heard.
"Wh-who are you?" Thomas demanded, his tongue faltering.
"Sir, he is a drunkard who ca with the sa group as that bitch," one of the guards laughed, moving towards . "He must have fallen in love with her to co all this way to rescue her."
Thomas's nervousness began to fade as he chuckled, "So he is just a normal—"
As he was speaking, I smashed the hamr into the head of the guard who ca closer to and split his skull open, splashing blood on my face.
A wave of dread washed over the guards, and their bodies subconsciously stepped back.
"H-he just killed him with one strike," one of the guards gasped.
"Don't panic," Thomas shouted. "He is just one man while we are over fifty. Surround him from all directions and don't use any skill that can cause the explosives to detonate."
The panicked group sowhat cald down upon hearing Thomas's words and, following his order, encircled .
A squad stepped forward, each one coming from different directions and leapt at simultaneously.
"Vivi, activate the Eyes of the Fallen!"
"Initialising Host's request..."
"Eyes of the Fallen activated!"
I tightened the grip on the sledge hamr, leapt upward, and hurled it towards the one coming from the front.
The speed of the hamr was so intense that it passed right through, puncturing a hole at the centre of his face.
I landed on the shoulder of the other at the back, clutched his head between my hands, and rotated it 360 degrees, breaking his neck like a stick.
As my feet were about to reach the ground, I grabbed both the attackers on my left and right and collided their heads with each other with a loud thud.
"Don't bla ," I murmured. "It was you who woke the Sleeping Demon."
I ran a hand through my crimson hair, grabbed the blood-dripping hamr from the ground, and spoke in a low, cold tone, "Co at all at once."
"Kill that monster!" Thomas roared, bolting toward with his sword as his entire guard unit surged forward.
Thus began the one-sided slaughter.
One Awakener turned the ground beneath into mud, while another used vines to bind my limbs. Simultaneously, so launched ntal assaults, and others attacked with Soulforce-laced weapons.
Yet...
No 'Blink'.
No 'Lightening Bolt'.
One attacker, one strike of hamr.
That's all it took to send each of those bastards to the hell from where they crawled out.
The massacre continued until the scent of the gunpowder was suppressed by an even stronger scent of blood.
The floor beneath transford into a crimson pool, leaving only three people remaining in the basent—crying Silvia, terrified Thomas, and the utterly terrifying Lucifer Morning Star, soaked in blood from head to toe.
