"Returned to default settings, huh? Now tell , why are you calling ?" Aryan asked on the call.
"You see... I’ve decided to live the life of an Awakener."
"Have you thought this through? I won’t sugarcoat it for you. Compared to everyone else, you’ll face more difficulty ranking up, and once you enter the world of Awakeners, you’ll constantly be compared to . And don’t even get started on the dangers an Awakener faces inside a gate."
"Yeah, yeah. I already know it. I made this decision after thinking everything through."
Sigh... "Since I said I would support whatever decision you make, I won’t stop you. Do you want to admit you to the academy?"
"No, not yet!" I instantly denied and continued, "I need a weapon to familiarize myself with it and train for so ti at ho. I don’t want to join the academy as a complete toddler."
"Oh, you really have thought it through. We have weapons stored in the guild. Co and take whatever you like."
"You are the best, Elder Brother!" I exclaid, imdiately hanging up the phone.
I ran down the stairs and reached the hall where Maa was watching Doraemon with Inayat on the TV.
"Maa, since when have you started watching cartoons?" I chuckled.
"Inayat likes them and she doesn’t want to watch alone, so here I am," Maa sighed.
Inayat, hearing my voice, jumped from Maa’s lap and ca toward .
"Uncle Raj, where are you going?" she asked, raising her eyebrows suspiciously.
"Whoa! Is this what they call a child’s instinct?" I gasped inwardly before replying, "Uncle Raj is going for work."
"Don’t lie, Uncle Raj! Inayat knows you don’t work!"
"Ouch! Why are children so honest!" I murmured, feeling the emotional damage.
"Well, Uncle Raj has started working from now. I’ll et you in the evening."
"But Inayat also wants to go with Uncle Raj," she whimpered, her shimring eyes making it impossible to refuse.
I was about to agree when Maa spoke up, coaxing Inayat.
"Kiddo, there will be only stinky uncles where Uncle Raj is going. You’ll get bored there, but if you stay at ho, Uncle Raj will bring toys for you."
"Reeeally?" Inayat asked, stretching her words.
"Yes, I’ll bring many toys for you."
"Yeeeee!!! Then go fast!" she exclaid, running back into Maa’s embrace. "Bye, Uncle Raj!"
As I turned around, I got a text ssage from Maa.
"Where are you going?"
"To the guild," I texted back.
"Return before dinner."
Since it had been many days, Maa had beco more lenient about letting go outside. This ti, she didn’t tell to go with a driver, so I finally got the chance to drive one of the beauties parked in the basent of the mansion.
Under the bright lights of the basent, the left side was lined with a LaFerrari, McLaren 720S, Bugatti Chiron, and Lamborghini Sián, while the right side had a custom Rolls-Royce and several SUVs.
I loved sports cars, but since I had never driven one before, I decided not to take any of them. Moreover, my first dream car was parked there, completely stealing my focus.
After enjoying the beautiful scenery these cars created in the basent, I grabbed the keys and opened the door of the G-Wagon.
"Hehehe~! I never thought I’d actually drive a G-Wagon. Big brother’s money is the best!"
The Black Raven Guild was at a distance of twenty kilotres from , which passed by in a flash as I enjoyed my first drive after one and a half years.
---
"Oh my god!" I gasped, staring at the towering building of the guild.
The building’s base was as wide as a village, while its peak vanished above the clouds. Its shape alone was so breathtaking that only a legendary architect could have conceived sothing like this. The structure spiralled upward like a massive vein, with the gaps between each coil sealed by panels of tinted black glass. At its summit stood a three-eyed crow, its sharp beak casting a long shadow over the buildings below.
While I stood there uncontrollably gasping at the majestic building, the security guard at the gate asked, "Sir, are you here to et the Guildmaster?"
"Huh! How do you know that?" I asked, surprised.
"Well, we recognised the number on the car. You must be soone close to the Guildmaster."
"Of course I am," I scoffed, handing him the key to park the car before entering inside.
At the building’s entrance, I was welcod by Jasmine, who was already standing there waiting for .
"Welco to the Black Raven Guild, Mr. Raj. The Guildmaster and Vice-Guildmaster are busy, so they sent to show you the weapon you need," she greeted with her usual smile.
"Hey, Jasmine. I keep on bothering you," I chuckled, rubbing my temple.
"Not at all, sir. Please co inside."
As we entered, she began boasting about the building’s structure with pride.
"There are a total of 100 floors in the building. The bottom 50 floors are reserved only for late awakeners of the guild. These floors contain gyms, kitchens, sparring halls, and anything an Awakener could wish for," she explained, pressing the button for the lift.
"That ans the awakeners of the guild live here?"
"Precisely. The guild also allows the families of the Awakeners to live here as well."
"That’s amazing," I replied, impressed.
Seeing my interest in the guild, she continued with an excited expression. "The floors from 81 to 90 are limited to awakeners with high positions in the guild, like guild elders, wardens, and administrators. Regular Awakeners cannot go beyond the 80th floor."
"And the top 10 floors?" I asked, completely imrsed in her explanation.
"Huhuhu~! These floors are even off-limits to the awakeners from floors 81 to 90. They can only enter in case of an ergency. The 91st, 92nd, and 93rd floors are for the Research Division. The 94th and 95th are for weapon manufacturing, while the 96th and 97th are for artifact manufacturing. The 98th floor stores security cara footage, control operations, and necessary ergency protocols. And finally, the 100th floor is where Guildmaster Aryan and Vice Guildmaster Aisha stay," she said, inserting a card into the lift and pressing the button for the 99th floor.
"Jasmine, you forgot to tell about the 99th floor."
"Hehehe~! Isn’t it obvious what that floor contains, since I pressed the button for it?"
An excited smile appeared on my face as I declared, "High-ranked weapons."
"Exactly!"
