Why was I hiding my identity when I was the prince of the Hundred Sky Mountains?

Wouldn’t it be easier to simply announce who I was rather than taking such a roundabout way to enter my own ho?

Well, things were not as simple as they seed.

If they were, Nyria would not have kept everything to herself. She would have dragged back ho even against my will. Yet she left instead, not to ntion the desperate plea she made in her letter for not to reveal my identity unless she said otherwise.

When the Emperor betrayed us, I was too furious to think clearly. All I wanted at that ti was to slaughter him into pieces.

Although those feelings still remained, I had reprocessed everything that transpired that day with a calr and more stable mind.

Once a cultivator reaches the Demi-God Realm, their body constitution surpasses that of mortals, becoming closer to omnipotence. No amount of poison could affect them, no matter how potent. It beca even more impossible for a divine being to be poisoned, as they were fundantally different.

The only way such beings could be poisoned was if the perpetrator possessed information about their body constitution down to the minutest detail. The Emperor had no way of acquiring such information unless...there was a traitor within the Hundred Sky Mountains.

This must also have been one of the reasons Nyria requested to hide my identity. She must have figured out the existence of this traitor as well.

I had a few suspects, but to completely draw out the traitor, I decided to keep my identity hidden and investigate in my own way.

With U’s help, I altered the signature of my Soulforce so that no one could recognize through sensing it. She also repaired the broken face-changing mask and cast an illusion spell on it, making it appear as though it carried the sa Soulforce frequency as my body. That was the reason the examiner could not detect the face-changing mask. A similar illusion was also cast on the engagent ring on my finger, as she refused to let remove it.

"Son, your na is Lucifer Morningstar?" asked the old senior, his tired blue eyes filled with moisture.

I had already recognized him the mont I saw him. He was Robert El Thunderbane, the master of my father and uncle. He was a legendary figure who had also trained the Five Wardens. After spending most of his life creating warriors worthy of myths, he had retired from the sect to spend his remaining years in peace. He had been living on one of the peaks of the Hundred Sky Mountains reserved exclusively for him. Seeing him now could only an that he had returned from retirent to train warriors once again, for the sake of the dying Thunderbane Sect.

Just from his weary eyes and weakened appearance, I could already tell how deeply the death of the Thunderbanes had affected him.

"Greetings, Master," I said, giving him a deep bow. Beside my family, he was one of the few people who deserved my utmost respect.

"Hm, you have good manners," Master Robert replied with a faint smile, tapping my shoulder.

The mont he touched , I was suddenly jolted upward, flying at a blinding speed, or dragged would be the more accurate term, as Master Robert passed through mountains while holding by the collar, leaving behind a trail of blue lightning.

Within a few minutes, we arrived before the mightiest peak of all the Sky Mountains, its zenith daring to touch the heavens.

The mountain was cloaked in beautiful white clouds, with a colorful city at its base, a grand sect with various intricate buildings along its midsection, while the zenith was sealed off by boundaries on all sides and a massive royal gate enclosing the stairs that led upward. This was the grandest of all the Sky Mountains, nad Heaven’s Last Step, the place where I had spent my childhood.

Master Robert slowly descended, arriving directly at the entrance of the sect gate, where the words Thunderbane Sect were inscribed in beautiful calligraphy.

I had always wanted to join the sect, train with disciples of my age, make friends, and learn under a master. However, due to my status as a god and the prince of the Hundred Sky Mountains, I could not afford such privileges. My Soulforce was fundantally different from that of the sect masters, making it aningless for them to teach . Because of this, Father never sent to the sect and always told to train myself and find my own path of cultivation.

Who would have thought that the wheel of fate would turn in such a way that I would actually fulfill one of my childhood dreams like this? Yet I felt no happiness whatsoever. Everything just felt empty.

"From now on, you will stay here and cannot leave this mountain without permission," Master Robert said as he moved forward and entered the sect. "Oh right, I have not told you my na. Address as Master Robert."

Guiding along the main path, Master Robert entered another gate within the sect that was a few hundred steps higher than the previous one.

"This is where the inner disciples of the sect live," Master Robert said as we arrived before a large abode. "This is your chamber. Place your belongings inside and collect your robes and materials for the cultivation from the Treasure Hall."

He slightly pointed toward a grand hall located a few buildings away.

Just as he was about to leave, I called out from behind and asked, "Master Robert, if I may ask, who lives at the zenith of the mountain?"

Master Robert halted for a mont. His usual calm expression turned irritated as he muttered in a low tone, "That does not concern you."

Before I could ask anything further, he instantly flew away, just as he had brought here, leaving behind a trail of lightning.

"Looks like I will have to find out myself," I murmured inwardly as I entered the abode assigned to .

It was a fairly large room with a single bed in one corner, an attached bathroom, and a wooden set of furniture. Unlike the city, everything here was traditional rather than modern, truly giving off the atmosphere of a sect.

I did not need to place my belongings inside, as I kept most of them in my inventory and space ring. After giving the room a brief glance, I left and headed toward the Treasure Hall.

On my way along the stone path, I noticed several people wearing light blue robes gathered in front of a notice board. At the top of the wooden board, the words Core Disciple Selection Competition were written.
