Capítulo 1966: Chapter 1859: Torpedo

“Mr. Song, we must return imdiately,” Yumi Ono disagreed.

“Miss Ono, we ca all this way, we can’t just return empty-handed!” Song Xiaodong was unwilling to give up.

“Returning with your life is not empty-handed!” Yumi Ono was very assertive.

“Report to the captain, we have spotted a ship ahead!” the co-pilot shouted to the captain.

Song Xiaodong and the others hurried to the side of the ship to look.

Yumi Ono needed to use binoculars, but Song Xiaodong could see with his naked eye that it was a ship much larger than his own, with English letters carved on its body. According to the intel Lin Feng had before departure, this was exactly the salvage ship hired by the Dark Night Sect.

“Miss Ono, we cannot turn back.” Song Xiaodong turned around and said to Yumi Ono firmly.

“No way, our ship can’t withstand winds above level 9. Look at the weather, there’s definitely going to be a storm soon!” Yumi Ono pointed to the northwest where dark clouds were rapidly spreading.

“They’re not leaving, why should we?” Song Xiaodong was a bit angry and couldn’t help but shout at Yumi Ono.

“They may not value their lives, but I want to live!” Yumi Ono turned around and was about to head to the control room.

“Stop!” Song Xiaodong roared, and like two black streaks of lightning, Dragon Three and Dragon Six swiftly stepped forward to block Yumi Ono.

“Mr. Song, what are you doing?” Yumi Ono turned back, looking into Song Xiaodong’s eyes, and waved to her crew behind her.

The more than ten staff mbers who boarded the ship with Yumi Ono gathered around.

“Mr. Song, don’t you know that once on the ship, everyone must listen to the captain?” Yumi Ono provocatively approached Song Xiaodong.

“Miss Ono, don’t you know that the captain must also listen to the employer?” Song Xiaodong did not avoid Yumi Ono’s gaze and gently snapped his fingers towards the cabin.

The Dragon Gate Warriors in the cabin also stepped out, confronting Yumi Ono’s crew.

“Miss Ono, now I understand why Elder Lin insisted on hiring you Japanese people as the salvage company—because you’re Japanese. I wouldn’t care if I threw you into the sea,” Song Xiaodong threatened Yumi Ono.

Yumi Ono hesitated a bit but thought for a mont, realizing she had brought many more people on board than Song Xiaodong, and even the chef was Japanese, so she wasn’t afraid of these few Chinese people.

The two groups were on the verge of a fight, ready to strike at any mont.

At this mont, Xu Duoduo, who had been watching the drama from inside the cabin, ca out, approached Yumi Ono, and said, “What’s the matter, Miss Ono? Are you scared? Don’t you have confidence in your sailing skills? You Japanese have investigated this sea area for so long, and now a storm makes you lose your nerve? Or is it that you Japanese are cowards who only care about saving your own skins?” Xu Duoduo intentionally provoked Yumi Ono.

Yumi Ono indeed fell for it, saying to Song Xiaodong, “Fine, today I’ll accompany Mr. Song and Miss Xu through the storm, but let make it clear: I’m only responsible for the safety of my own people.”

“Of course, of course,” Song Xiaodong nodded at Yumi Ono with a tilted head.

Song Xiaodong, Xu Duoduo, and Yumi Ono went down to the control room.

“You two, out,” Yumi Ono ordered the captain and co-pilot out of the control room.

Xu Duoduo automatically sat in the co-pilot seat, and Yumi Ono unreservedly took the main pilot seat.

“Follow that ship,” Song Xiaodong said to Yumi Ono.

The Dark Night Sect’s ship was much larger than Song Xiaodong’s, and its sailing speed was slightly slower, but it was evidently more stable in the wind and waves, able to withstand higher wind levels at sea.

But this was irrelevant because Demon’s Corner was full of hidden reefs; if a big ship wasn’t careful, it would run aground, and if not, it would be caught by a magnet.

In no ti, the two ships were getting closer and closer.

The weather on the sea changed suddenly, with the rain clouds in the northwest spreading like a vast black canopy, covering everything, as if the entire sky were drawn with a black curtain. The clouds’ boundary with the blue sky was neat and orderly, and the rapidly expanding dark clouds resembled a giant whale opening its mouth, seemingly ready to devour everything between heaven and earth, including these two small boats bobbing up and down in the wind and waves.

The wind picked up, the chill of the sea breeze starkly different from the mild warmth before, felt like two different seasons. Everyone on deck returned to the cabin, watching wave after wave of colossal waves erge on the sea, with two ships slicing through the wind and waves like blades, pressing forward swiftly.

“They’re headed straight for Demon’s Corner, looks like you’ve found sothing valuable!” Yumi Ono said to Song Xiaodong.

“We don’t know where the valuables are, but they do. Just keep up, and I’ll pay you extra when we return,” Song Xiaodong said, looking at the tail of the ship speeding ahead in the distance.

“If we manage to return, that is!” Yumi Ono was fully focused at this point, clearly having no ti to think about money.

The wind and waves grew more intense, at first allowing visibility of the ships moving quickly ahead, but soon the undulating waves concealed the ship behind towering waves, like mountains.

Song Xiaodong instinctively sensed danger.

The Dark Night Sect’s ship was once again lifted high by the enormous waves before crashing down, completely obscured behind the waves. Then another wave lifted the ship again, and Song Xiaodong could see with his naked eye that the Dark Night Sect’s ship’s stern splashed two tiny sprays of water.
