Aren was travelling back to his hotel, sitting in the back seat of his taxi, when his emotions, which he had been suppressing until now, began to surface.
His face contorted in anger.
’Just what wrong did I commit to deserve this?’
’Why am I betrayed by everyone I trusts?’
’I treated Juan like a younger brother, and still, he betrayed my trust in the blink of an eye.’
’...did he get threatened like the other bodyguards?’

The following day, Aren completed contract signing for My Heiress alongside Lisa.
As soon as My Heiress’ production team heard that Aren and Lisa were interested in their drama, they accepted Sun Films’ offer right away, and in just a day, all formalities have been completed.
My Heiress’ production team and the director wanted to announce that Aren and Lisa were going to act in their drama, hoping to gain publicity and the audience’s attention.
However, Ember sternly refused their requests. Aren had warned her to not let any news about him or Lisa surface.
He wanted people to remain in the dark, thinking that Aren and Lisa were still blacklisted and weren’t getting any roles.
If they found out that they both had been cast in a drama as leads, their anger towards Titan Crest Entertainnt will reduce.
Currently, Titan Crest Entertainnt was suffering trendously as celebrities exited their agency day after day.
Rowen Hale, one of their eight major stars, had also left them and signed with Ember.
Ember was on cloud nine thanks to this. After all, Rowen Hale was one of the most influential and respected actors in the whole entertainnt industry.
With him under her agency, her influence received a boost, solidifying her position above others.
Aren didn’t know why, but Ember had begun to call him just to bitch around or share her achievents. Like when she acquired Rowen Hale, she called him to share the news.
And now, she called him to bitch about Scarlet.
"Scarlet has approached Aden Stokes, Adrian Jones, and Cassian Law. I heard she even offered them better conditions than ." Ember said in a displeased tone.
"But why do you call to say all this?" Aren asked with a puzzled sigh.
"What do you an why? Wasn’t it you who said I could poach all the celebrities from Titan Crest Entertainnt if I listened to you?"
Aren rested his face in his palm tiredly. "I didn’t an you will get ’every’ celebrity. After all, it depends on the offers you make whether the celebrities will sign with you or not. How can I be blad if so celebrities choose other agencies because of better offers? Moreover, how could I have known that Miss Scarlet would gather the money this fast?"
"Hey, why are you addressing Scarlet as Miss Scarlet?" Ember said in a slightly offended tone. "Just call her Scarlet. No need to show her this much respect."
"Miss Ember, I cannot do that," Aren said in a humble tone. "I’m rely a newbie actor. You and Miss Scarlet are chairwon of powerful agencies and streaming platforms. You belong to one of the most powerful families of the country. I cannot afford to offend either of you."
"Oh?" Ember’s tone suddenly turned amused. "Then didn’t you think I would be offended when you asked for ten percent profits? And what about the ti when you ca with Linda? You called Scarlet smarter than , on.my.face."
"Miss Ember, there was nothing to get offended about." Aren said, voice amiable, "Ten percent profits was just my rightful compensation. As for when I called Miss Scarlet smarter, I said it to get your attention. After all, you weren’t even listening to my deal. No intelligent person would get offended by such small things, right?"
Aren was emphasizing that if Ember was intelligent, she wouldn’t get offended. After all, he couldn’t afford to make an enemy out of her. She was like a double-edged sword. He had to tread carefully around her; otherwise, she might cut him instead of his enemies.
"Yes, you’re right," Ember laughed lightly. "I’m not offended. I even feel grateful that you ca to with that deal. After I acquired so many celebrities, my grandfather praised for the first ti, and that too, in front of the whole family. It had never happened before."
"Congratulations, then," Aren said politely before making an excuse to disconnect the call, "I need to prepare for shooting. I haven’t understood my role yet. So I’ll need to end the call."
"No, wait. I forbid you from ending the call."
However, Aren still disconnected the call despite her warning. He would just say he didn’t hear her voice and ended up cutting the call.
However, just when he thought it was over, her call ca.
Now, he was in a predicant.
Should he pick up?
If he didn’t, she might get offended.
Does he have a choice?
Realizing that he had no other choice, he picked up her call.
"Hey, why did you cut the call when I forbade you?" Ember’s displeased voice ca.
"I didn’t hear your voice then."
"Whatever, listen to my full story. I’ll not allow you to cut the call before that." Ember demanded.
"But why, Miss Ember?" Aren asked tiredly. "Aren’t you busy?"
"I’m very busy, but I also need to tell you this."
Ember then began to recount how her grandfather praised her in front of the whole family. Even her father, the chairman of Sun Automotive, was proud of her.
anwhile, the other family mbers, like her aunt, the chairwoman of Sun Costics and beauty products, were envious. She never received any praises from Ember’s grandfather.
Similarly, Ember was the first among her siblings to receive such praises.
Since Phoenix group was their direct rival, they had never defeated them so cleanly before.
Moreover, due to this scandal, Sun Group’s image also improved in people’s minds, making them prefer products from the Sun Group over Phoenix’s.
Her grandfather was all praises.
For around an hour, Aren had to listen to her while thinking inside:
’Why do I have to hear all this? Does she not have any friends?’
And the truth was... she didn’t.
Only Scarlet ca to her level; however, she was her rival, and Ember didn’t consider her her friend.
As for other girls of her age, she considered them all beneath her.
Only Aren was soone she recognized after seeing his abilities.
After all, Titan Crest Entertainnt was a giant that even she wouldn’t be able to offend easily.

She couldn’t help but be impressed by him.

All these made her admire him and consider him her first friend with whom she could share her joys.

However, there was so unknown fun, a strange joy she felt when teasing him like this, so she continued despite being too busy with her work.
