The following morning, in Sun Films studios,
A set was dedicated to My Heiress’ shooting, and on this set, two female actors were especially tense today.
One of them was an old woman in her mid-forties nad Marley Vo, an actress specializing in mother roles. She was a common face in family dramas, either playing one of the neighbor aunties or the lead’s mother’s friend.
This was one of the few monts where she was getting to play the lead’s mother directly. As a supporting actor, this could be her mont to gain recognition.
After all, Aren was one of the most popular celebrities in the country right now, and if she could ride on his coattails, she would soar as well.
She knew that many viewers would watch this drama, and through that, she could finally shed her minor character casting stereotype and transition to mainstream roles.
The other female actor was a young actress, Nylah Horton.
Nylah was nineteen years old right now and had been a popular child actress a few years ago. Her cute appearance had won many people’s hearts.
She had ruled as a child actress in those tis; however, her parents felt that her studies were far more important, and thus, they made her take a break from acting and focus on studies despite her protests.
She was still a minor then and couldn’t go against her parents’ decision.
However, after she decided to make a coback, the industry had moved on. Her chubby cheeks and cute appearance had faded away. She wasn’t sought after anymore.
As a child actress, it had been easy for her to gain fa, not even realizing the value of the life she led in those days.
It was only after that fa had faded that she ca to realize how she had let go of a god-given opportunity.
And now, she needed to work her way up from the bottom.
The only advantage she had was having so connections thanks to her child actress days.
After struggling for a prominent role for almost two years, she finally received a role that could help her gain recognition.
Even though she had played the female lead in two low-budget dramas, nobody even watched those dramas.
What was the use of featuring in a drama if no one was going to watch it?
She realized that only a high-budget drama with popular stars as leads could help her co into the radar of viewers and directors.
It wasn’t like she wasn’t beautiful or anything.
It was just that the entertainnt industry was saturated with beautiful faces.
There were even strears and influencers more beautiful than so stars, so obviously, beauty wasn’t everything.
She had to strive to make a na for herself through her talent and skills.
And today was that day.
She was playing Aren Frost’s younger sister in the drama. She rembered how Lisa had shot to popularity after playing the sa role, and she hoped to replicate sothing similar.
However, her role was sowhat ambiguous, not lovable like Leah from To Your Heart.
As for Marley, she was playing the role of mother to Aren and Nylah.
Actually, today’s scene wasn’t supposed to be shot today. It was specially changed on Aren’s request.
For so reason, he requested the director shoot this specific scene today instead of the usual cheerful ones.
This scene was one of the most emotional and difficult scenes in the whole drama, requiring a very high level of acting skills from the lead actor.
Marley and Nylah were just afraid that they might ss up Aren’s performance.
They had been given more than an hour to prepare for the scene, as Aren wanted to finish this in one single take.
This was also the first scene Marley and Nylah were going to film with Aren. Originally, their scenes were scheduled for later, so they didn’t even have the chance to et him yet.
After they completed their makeup and got dressed according to the designer’s instructions, they were called to the set for shooting.
"I’m so nervous, senior." While following Emma, the assistant director who was escorting them, Nylah glanced at Marley and said.
They had beco acquaintances in the few hours together in the makeup room, preparing for the scene together.
"It’s natural to be nervous. Just take deep breaths to calm your nerves and hope for the best," Marley maturely advised.
"Right." Nylah nodded. "I just hope senior Aren isn’t too strict."
Marley could only look at Nylah, praying for the sa.
She may be older, but in authority, Aren was above her.
She didn’t want to embarrass herself in front of him.
Soon, they arrived at the set resembling a worn-out house interior, modestly common with so weary walls and old furniture.
This set represented Klis Ether’s shabby house. It was the scene’s shooting location.
As soon as Nylah and Marley arrived on the set, the director Lian Parks approached them and explained the scene.
He specifically instructed them to not stop even if they made an error or fumble in the scene. Their voice could be dubbed later.
This scene would focus on Aren, and they were going to shoot it in one take.
Even though this shooting style was unfamiliar to both, they could only nod. They were actors after all. Their job was to perform according to the director’s instructions.
After they were ready to perform the scene, Emma went to call Aren as well.
After a while, Aren appeared, walking behind Emma, his expression unreadable.
The director approached him and explained to him the situation and their plan for the shoot.
After Aren nodded to him and the director returned to give directions to the crew, Aren took the initiative to approach Nylah and Marley.
They both were taken aback by his striking appearance and his initiative to approach them.
He smiled and greeted them humbly. "Hello, I’m Aren Frost, the actor performing alongside you in the upcoming scene. Please take care of ."
Nylah and Marley both exchanged perplexed glances.
Wasn’t this too opposite to the rumors spread by Ventage and BlackShore Managent?
They hurriedly introduced themselves as well, getting a little comfortable with him soon after.
They discussed the upcoming scene as Aren instructed on what he expected from them and how they could improve the scene.
They imdiately complied, feeling astonished by the amount of thought he had put into this specific scene.
After a while, Nylah and Marley took their positions for the scene, while Aren had to enter after the scene began.
Ready to start the scene, he glanced at the system notification he had received just an hour ago.
