It took Lu Zhen over two hours for the fire surrounding him to extinguish. He finally opened his eyes with several fire crystal cores shattered at his side.
He had finally advanced to the first level of superpower. Truth be told, even though he wasn’t overly concerned about his level of strength, he was afraid that sothing would happen and he wouldn’t be able to keep up with his wife.
Fortunately, today he had advanced. He could feel that the power in his core had stabilized and solidified.
Now, he was sure that he could create fire needles more easily and also those compressed fireballs could contain more power if he compressed them even further with more energy.
When fighting, his spiritual energy would last longer. This was sothing he was happy about. He could protect his wife and family better with more power.
Looking towards his wife, he saw her sitting in an ice box she had created that was almost completely lting.
She seed to be concentrating on sothing and when he looked if front of her, he found two mimicry of herself standing there.
They were solid and looked almost identical to her. He was only able to tell the difference because he loved her to death and knew every single detail of her even better than he knew himself.
Seeing the two copies of his wife move and start cleaning the place ssed by the fire, he still couldn’t understand how they did it considering that they were made from water.
But he did dwell on that issue as he saw his wife stand up and walk to him.
"Hubby, you have advanced." Leng Pan said with a bright smile on her beautiful face.
That smile dazzled Lu Zhen so much that he almost forgot to breath. Coming back to his senses, he stretched his arms and hooked the waist if the woman in front of him.
"Yes, I advanced. I can protect you better now." Lu Zhen reiterated as he hugged the woman in his arms tightly and kissed her hair.
He was really grateful for this beautiful soul who had made his life more worth living in this unbearable environnt.
If she wasn’t there to get through the apocalypse together, then he didn’t want to imagine what his life would be like.
Leng Pan, as if she could sense his mood, wrapped her arms around his waist and laid her head on his broad and steady chest.
This was the place that made her feel at ease and secure. She didn’t understand why but listening to his heartbeat kind of cald her down and made her happy.
After separating, Leng Pan suggested going ho.
"Today’s crystal cores will help the others at ho improve significantly. Even the crystal cores of the zombies who had not yet evolved looks different." Leng Pan said as she and Lu Zhen walked out of the underground warehouse.
"They should have been exposed to that teorite for a while too even if they were not close enough to absorb enough energy to mutate.
But the fact that so zombies have superpowers ans that humans are in even a more precarious situation." Lu Zhen said as he rembered how that day they had killed over three hundred zombies but most of them moved a little fast than before.
That indicated that all the zombies were evolving even if it was still not very obvious yet.
To prevent people from following them back to their community, the two had developed the habit of wearing masks when outside.
This way, others would not recognize them even if they saw them. They had decided to do this after that ti Leng Pan said she felt like sothing or soone was trying to detect her space.
They still didn’t know what was happening and didn’t want to take any risks. That was also the reason Leng Pan had not used her space since then.
They had run out of spiritual spring water and every ti they wanted to recover faster, she could only create water using her superpower.
Ever since she had absorbed a tub of spiritual spring water, the water she created had the sa effects as the one found in the space. Only that the effects were a little less and it took a few more minutes to recover completely compared to when you drink the real water fro the spiritual spring.
As they rode ho, Leng Pan suddenly felt that sa feeling again. As if sothing was tracking her space. She had not used her space for so many days and hadn’t felt that presence again.
She had thought that she was overthinking, but now she was sure. Soone sohow knew about the space and was tracking it. But she wasn’t sure whether they knew she was the one with the space.
She figured that if they knew, they would have co for her a long ti ago. She decided to talk to Lu Zhen about it when they got ho.
When they were a distance from the community where they lived, the two stopped their motorcycles and took off their helts before removing the masks they wore.
Even though they covered themselves with masks outside, if they let people who knew them see them like that it would be easy to expose themselves.
Therefore, they only wore masks when they were further away from the community. After taking off their masks, they put their helts back on and rode their motorcycles into the community unobstructed.
During these days when they went to train, many people had been observing them and discussing what they were up to.
Lu Tao had even heard one family discuss how they were part of a secret organization that caused the apocalypse. That was apparently why they weren’t afraid of the zombies and even went out everyday.
However, even after Leng Pan and Lu Zhen heard such absurd speculations, they didn’t care and continued with their daily training.
Lu Tao had also progressed in his ability to manipulate technology. Without the internet, he could now intercept signals from different communication devices.
Today as soon as they entered the door, even before removing their shoes, he ca running to them to talk about sothing he had intercepted.
It was talking about that catalyst core his brother had told him to follow up on.
"Big brother, sister-in-law, I have so news about that issue you told to follow up on.
Co on to my room I’ll show you sothing." Lu Tao was very energetic because he had achieved so results after a few days of working hard to comb through signals and frequencies he didn’t understand until he found sothing useful.
He had realized that as he cultivated with the crystal cores his brother and sister-in-law brought back and his superpower improved, his hacking ability improved as well.
It was a weird situation.
As soon as they got into Lu Tao’s room, he went straight to a computer displaying so letters, numbers, and symbols Leng Pan couldn’t understand.
But she was aware that those were codes used by hackers and layn couldn’t understand them.
She looked at her little brother-in-law who looked as if he had a tail wagging to the sky.
She couldn’t help but smile. This boy idolized his brother and thought that doing sothing that his brother couldn’t do was a unique and significant achievent in life.
"I wrote a program that would flag anything that ntions a catalyst core and today, sothing ca up." Lu Tao started as he opened a file that looked like an audio file.
He didn’t know what was important in that ssage so he had saved the whole file without tampering with it or editing anything out.
He was afraid that the part he cut out might contain crucial information, so he had saved the whole thing.
It wasn’t a long file, only one minute long.
He clicked on it and a rough voice ca through the laptop speaker.
