Lu Zhen and Leng Pan returned to their apartnt and took a shower. These past few days they had been so busy that they hadn’t had any ti to stop and relax.
Now that they heard about the group of people looking for them, they were even more unlikely to stop. However, today they decided to dedicate at least two hours to each other.
They hadn’t made love for days and they craved each other. So, after taking a shower and getting into bed, their hands were all over each other as if they had communicated in advance.
It didn’t take long for moans and grunts to fill the spacious bedroom.
Two hours later, they were taking another shower after marital satisfaction.
When they went back to bed, instead of lying down to sleep, they sat down with Lu Zhen holding his wife in his arms.
"Baby, you want to go into the space, don’t you?" Lu Zhen said as he brushed Leng Pan’s hair with his fingers.
"Yeah, we have both advanced in superpowers and also gained so combat experience. Especially since we have also had close-combat training with those zombies.
I am sure we can take on several people when fighting. We also have several attack and defense techniques that can protect us in case we get overwheld.
I see no reason to be overly cautious and probably miss an opportunity to get stronger." Leng Pan explained her reasoning to her husband.
"You are right. Being in contact with that teorite gives us new opportunities to gain more power. So, not using it for fear of being discovered is superfluous.
Moreover, while we hold ourselves back to avoid them, they are closing in on us. It’s better to take ti and gain more leverage than just avoiding the problem." Lu Zhen agreed with his wife’s suggestion.
Indeed, their not using the resources they had for fear of being discovered was both cowardly and unreasonable. Especially since being in contact with the teorite didn’t just benefit them but their family too.
"Let’s go take a look now. I have a feeling that we will gain sothing new." Leng Pan said, and before Lu Zhen could reply, he felt a wave of dizziness, and he was already standing outside the warehouse like always.
"Maybe give a heads-up next ti?" Lu Zhen said with so helplessness.
His wife could be impatient sotis.
"Sorry." Leng Pan replied sheepishly.
She didn’t an to make him uncomfortable. She was just too eager to see what they would find today.
Holding hands, the two walked to the door of the mansion, and as usual, the human-like AI voice ca from inside.
"Welco back Commander Leng." As the voice faded, the door that had no handle opened and they walked inside.
The place had not changed after so long. The teorite was still sitting on the holographic table at the center of the room with the pendant beside it.
The purple sparks and energy pulsing from the teorite had sowhat intensified.
The two didn’t waste ti and went to stand before the table. Stretching out their hands, they placed them on the teorite.
This ti, Lu Zhen also joined Leng Pan and touched the rock.
Feeling a pull, Leng Pan felt her head beco a little heavy and the voice coming out of the teorite beca a little clearer.
Though the words said still didn’t make sense to her and made her even more confused, she heard a ssage this ti.
’The second invasion is coming. Must awaken Commander Leng. Find project rebirth.’
The ssage was short, but had significant implications. However, Leng Pan was still confused as to who this commander Leng really was and what she was supposed to awaken.
After the ssage repeated three tis, it went quiet. Leng Pan felt the familiar pull again and she opened her eyes.
She looked at Lu Zhen beside her and found that he was also opening his eyes.
"Let’s sit down and talk." Lu Zhen said as he pulled his wife by the hand and went to sit on holographic sofas that resembled the table with a teorite on it.
As soon as they sat down, the usual voice ca again.
"Do you need to serve tea, Commander Leng?"
Hearing how natural this voice kept calling her Commander Leng and then rembering the ssage she had just heard gave Leng Pan goosebumps.
She was getting more and more confused instead of gaining clarity.
For the first ti, she didn’t care what this tea was and just agreed. She needed sothing to calm her nerves.
"Don’t be afraid. I am here." Lu Zhen held his wife’s hand and comforted her when he felt her raw nerves that were almost screaming her insecurity.
He hadn’t expected coming into contact with the teorite to cause such a reaction from her. He didn’t know what she saw, but if she also received a ssage like his, it might be confusing.
Heck! He has confused himself, but seeing his wife like that, he knew that he didn’t have the luxury of being confused.
Feeling Lu Zhen’s hand caressing hers, Leng Pan took a deep breath and cald down.
Yes, she wasn’t alone. Why was she panicking? She still didn’t even know what was happening. Why should she let fear or confusion control her?
Just take the bull by the horns and confront whatever is coming. As the two comforted each other, two cups appeared on the coffee table in front of them.
This ti, the cup didn’t look holographic but was a real ceramic cup. Leng Pan wanted to say, ’How ancient!’
After all, everything else in that mansion looked like sothing high-tech that could never be found in this world. So, seeing sothing that wasn’t made of such technology was surprising.
Leng Pan took a cup and looked at the liquid inside. It indeed slled like so kind of tea, but whether it was really tea or sothing else, she wasn’t sure.
Lu Zhen also took his cup and before Leng Pan could comnt about how the tea looked so real and not holographic, he had already taken a sip.
Leng Pan was shocked as she found the things here weird and didn’t know if the tea was fit for human consumption.
Lu Zhen, of course, had the sa thoughts. That was why he took a sip first to test what it was before his wife could. If it was poison, then so be it. He had to take it first.
Leng Pan turned to observe her husband with a worried expression. She was afraid that the tea wasn’t really tea and might harm him.
