Lu Zhen, his uncles, and his brother took on the task of moving the supplies from the truck to the apartnt on the thirtieth floor. Luckily for them, the elevator was still working. Otherwise, having to go up and down so many floors for several trips would kill them half-way.

After carrying the first batch upstairs, Lu Zhen was surprised to see soone he had not expected in his living room.

"We found him waiting at the door and invited him in." Li Yunjia said while placing a cup of freshly squeezed juice on the table for the guest.

"I was just trying my luck when I ca to look for you, a man on the ground floor told you had gone out in the morning, so I decided to wait." The guest inford Lu Zhen and stood up at the sa ti.

"What brings you here?" Lu Zhen asked as he placed the bundle of clothes he was carrying and waited for his brother to go bring out the shopping carts they had used to transport supplies the previous day.

They had not returned the carts and instead kept them in their house for future use. They had co in handy pretty fast.

"Boss, I ca to check how you and your family are doing. I have been worried and since I can now fight those zombies without worrying about getting hurt easily, I decided to co and see you." The guest turned out to be assistant Yao who Lu Zhen had been thinking about.

"How is your mother?" Lu Zhen asked as he took a cart and gave it to Assistant Yao then took another one for himself.

Lu Tao also had his own cart. Seeing the young n pushing the carts out and talking, Uncle Li didn’t want to join the fun and went to the kitchen to see what she could make with the leftovers for lunch.

The three youngsters headed to the ground floor alone.

"My mother is doing well, thanks to the boss suggesting that I bring my mother here. She was saved. I can’t contact the village anymore and don’t know the situation there, but I have peace of mind." Assistant Yao replied with a gratified smile.

He was glad he had a boss who had foresight and who cared about his employees. He still rembered how the boss had ordered him to announce a three-day off for all employees of their company with a bonus of a hundred thousand for them to buy food and drinks.

For the employees who listened to their boss, they were now more relaxed than those who decided to save the money. Now that money had beco useless and they couldn’t buy anything, they must be regretting it.

Assistant Yao always followed what Lu Zhen said and did, which was why when he was tasked with reinforcing his boss’s apartnt, he had followed suit and reinforced his as well. When the boss gave them bonuses and asked them to buy food and drinks, moreover, he was responsible for picking up his boss’s mother and brother and also purchasing so of his supplies. He had also gone ahead and bought a lot of supplies as well.

Now, he only went out to fight zombies because he had to gain experience and also develop his skills and get used to his superpower. He had awakened a speed-type superpower, which was an advantage at the mont because not many zombies could catch up to him.

His mother had not awakened but he was not worried. He had the ability to protect her and if his boss agreed to let him join his team, it would be even better.

Over the last few days while out hunting zombies, he had also collected quite a number of supplies. The good thing was that he could run super fast and running with a heavy bag of supplies didn’t slow him by much.

"That’s good to know. But what brought you here?" Lu Zhen replied to his assistant and asked the crucial question.

"Boss, I have seen many neighbours forming teams to go out and look for supplies and thought that we can form our own team too. I want to continue following the boss even in the apocalypse." Assistant Yao replied to his forr boss with enthusiasm.

In fact, Lu Zhen had already figured out why his assistant had co looking for him but he didn’t expect him to be so straightforward.

"Why not form a team with your neighbors? Aren’t they closer to you than I am? Also, we are no longer in the corporate world, so I am not your boss any more." Lu Zhen asked the questions that should be asked and also made it clear that he was just an ordinary survivor now.

"Boss, you will always be my boss no matter what. As for the reason I haven’t ford teams with my neighbors, most of them just want to exploit others without doing anything. What’s more, when danger pops up they would not hesitate to abandon their teammates to save their own skin. How can I be teammates with such selfish people?

I still want to protect my mother and if I ally myself with such people then I will be dood." Assistant Yao expressed his disdain for the neighbors who only care about their lives and abandon their companions without a second thought and also his hope for a better environnt and teammates so that he could protect his mother.

"How do you plan to form a team with when you live in a different community from ?" Lu Zhen asked as the three of them stepped into the elevator to go down.

When he heard the question, Assistant Yao knew that he had already convinced the boss. As long as he could move closer to his boss, they could beco a team. He felt more reassured when he was closer to his boss because with his boss’s intelligence, they could survive longer, even in the apocalypse.
