When assistant Yao heard what the woman said, he was so angry that he wanted to rush over and hit soone. How could people be so malicious? Taking advantage of the older woman just because she didn’t know her. It was ridiculous. It was a good thing that he had already decided to move, otherwise the people in this place would eat his mother alive without her being the wiser.
"Miss Lau, if I rember correctly you don’t have a husband or a son, so, where did your sick son who needs food co from and where is the husband who is going out to look for supplies and bring them to you?" Assistant Yao asked as he rushed over to stand in front of his mother.
He started wondering how many people had cheated his mother with similar excuses before? His mother would probably not ntion sothing like soone borrowing a pack of noodles because she would think it was too petty. But who knew what these people were saying behind her back.
He felt that he needed to take his boss’ advice and take his mother out when looking for supplies one of these days so that she could experience what the world had beco. This way, she won’t believe people so easily anymore.
When the woman referred to as Miss Lau heard that she had been exposed, she got angry and shouted at assistant Yao for being petty.
"It’s just two packs of noodles, it’s not like I am taking all your food away. Why do you have to be so calculative about it? You are a man yet you are more calculative about small losses than a woman."
"If getting food is sothing petty, then go out and fight with zombies and get so for yourself. You are afraid of even leaving the front door of this building yet you have the audacity to tell that I am being petty for defending myself. Such vampires like you are the ones causing humanity to sink faster into extinction." Assistant Yao hadn’t been so angry in a long ti.
He had never seen soone so thick-skinned. She was there to swindle others and once exposed, she beca angry and started calling people petty. How ironic.
Miss Lau turned around to leave with a huff a huff and happened to see Lu Zhen and Lu Tao behind assistant Yao. She was imdiately captivated by Lu Zhen’s masculine and handso appearance. She thought to herself that if she had such a man, she wouldn’t have to worry about food and other supplies for the rest of her life, then would she have to humiliate herself in front of losers like assistant Yao?
She imdiately set her sights on Lu Zhen and twisted her waist as she walked towards him. Like always, when in the absence of Leng Pan, Lu Zhen had put on his indifferent and icy mask and whoever looked at him would feel scared and turn cold to the bone.
But people like Miss Lau who just wanted to take advantage of others didn’t have a sense of forbearance and just walked towards the muzzle of a gun without knowing.
When Lu Tao saw the look of hunger and greed in the woman’s eyes, he knew what she was up to and because he didn’t want bloodshed, he moved to stand in front of his brother and blocked the woman’s way.
"Little boy, move aside, I am not interested in you, I want to talk to the gentleman behind you." Miss Lau said while still trying to stretch her neck to look past Lu Tao, but the young man moved to block her sight again.
"My brother doesn’t want to talk to you." Lu Tao said to the woman and his deanour changed as well to resemble his brother.
The woman was taken aback by his statent and also the way his presence changed. But she wasn’t about to give up her ticket to a better life just because of a few words from a brat.
"Little boy, your brother hasn’t said anything, what makes you think he is not interested in talking to . I can be of great help if I beco your brother’s woman. I can cook and do laundry, how about it?" Miss Lau made a mistake by letting that statent leave her mouth.
Lu Zhen never allowed any woman other than Leng Pan to try and associate themselves with him, even if it was just with words or a few thoughts.
Assistant Yao, who knew his boss well, knew that the woman was done for.
"You think you can compare yourself to my sister-in-law? I wish my sister-in-law were here so that she can see you coveting her husband, then you would know what it ans to die without a burial place." Lu Tao mocked the woman who had overestimated herself.
Did his brother lack won who could do laundry and cook? Besides, with his uncle’s cooking, who can claim to be number one if he said he was number two? What wishful thinking. So won were really brainless, he just hoped that his brother wouldn’t kill her in a too ugly manner. After all, there was no way that woman would survive today.
Lu Zhen, who had been indifferent the whole ti finally looked at the woman who thought too highly of herself. Seeing her face caked with make up even in the apocalypse, he could tell that she relied on her body to survive and maybe cheat unsuspecting old ladies like his assistant’s mother.
He was too lazy to talk to the woman and had no plans of wasting his breath talking to her. He simply raised his hand and a few fire needles penetrated the woman’s skin. Soon, she started feeling a burning sensation deep in her bones.
Miss Lau didn’t understand what was happening to her, but she knew that it was nothing good. She had not expected this man to be so ruthless. Without saying a word, he had already attacked her.
