It turned out that the planet had been invaded by aliens who had either transford humans into monsters or used them as food, causing the population of the humans to dive.
Because the mory wasn’t long or too detailed, Lu Zhen still didn’t know the origin of the aliens.
He, however, knew that humans had created a program that could help to store the consciousness of humans in a mineral that could then be sent into the future and once triggered, they would reincarnate.
If the world was in peace, that was good, but if they were reborn and the world was still in chaos or the planet had died, they could use the resources preserved during the storage of the consciousness to rebuild it again and protect the remaining humanity.
For this, other plans had been made but they were not ntioned in the eting, so Lu Zhen still didn’t know what they were.
He did know though that there were so humans who betrayed humanity and might be the cause of the apocalypse now. Unfortunately, Lu Zhen didn’t know how to activate the program that could help them understand what was really going on and how to survive.
Leng Pan felt shocked when she heard her husband’s narration and didn’t need a rocket scientist to tell her that she had volunteered for that project rebirth and her silly husband had gone ahead and volunteered too.
But Leng Pan still didn’t think that things were that simple. It seed that they were missing crucial information, which she hoped they would get in the future.
After listening to Lu Zhen’s version of his mories, Leng Pan went ahead and told him about her own mories including the encounter with Anika.
"It looks like we have more to learn. Also, this apocalypse is not a new thing. It seed to have happened before, just in a different way. If there had been aliens and monsters before, where did they co from and where did they go? Also, how did humanity rid itself of such cancerous beings?
From what you just said, the monsters in the past seed to be able to think, unlike the zombies now who are mindless." Lu Zhen asked as he turned to look at the teorite on the table.
He wondered whether that teorite was one of the minerals used to store their consciousness. Was the approaching teorites the reason his wife had awakened and thought that she had been reborn after experiencing the apocalypse once before?
What had triggered the teorites to fall and how did such advanced satellites not detect such large objects falling from space? Or, did they fall from space?
He had many questions that didn’t have an answer.
"Maybe with the evolution of the zombies, they will start to think for themselves in the future. We cannot eliminate that possibility. From the tricks I witnessed that the aliens could use to clone the DNA of a human and turn themselves into that person, we had better find the information we need to regain all our mories fast. Otherwise, things are going to be bad." Leng Pan felt a certain unease at the thought of those streets that looked so immaculate but they were like a cage for the humans.
Humanity had been forced to isolate itself in such a small place, which terrified her. She wondered if that would be their future? Was history going to repeat itself?
Also, why was there no record of the world facing destruction? What exactly was being hidden?
"We can start exploring different places to see if we would find a clue, but without a lead, we will be searching blindly. Maybe Lu Tao could find sothing with his skills.
Tomorrow we can talk to him and find out if he has found anything unusual. If we can find sothing before the extre cold sets in, that would be good. If not, we will wait until it passes before going out to search." Lu Zhen made the decision for this because he didn’t want his wife to take any unnecessary risk.
"Okay, let’s go to sleep first. We can talk about everything else later." Leng Pan said as she stood up to leave.
Before Lu Zhen could reply, the long-lost AI voice was heard.
"Commander Leng, since you gained so of your mories, a room in the mansion has opened. Would you like to check it out?"
Leng Pan had not expected a room to open because of what she had rembered. Since the last ti she was told that she had to regain her mories to access other parts of the mansion, she had thought that she would have to rember everything.
She didn’t expect that rembering a little bit would help her open a room. Of course she wanted to see what was inside. Even if it wasn’t much, she assud it must be useful. Thus, she didn’t hesitate.
"Of course, I want to see the room. I want to know what is so important that it requires mories of a past life to access." Leng Pan replied to the voice.
"By the way, do you have a na? I can’t always be calling you the voice in the mansion, right?" she asked again after realizing that she still didn’t know how to address that voice.
At least in modern AI, they had nas, like Siri or the iPhone products, or Alexa. How could sothing even more advanced than those lack a na?
"My na is Zee." the voice replied.
"Zee? Just Zee?" Leng Pan asked. She was surprised that it had such a simple na.
"Yes, commander Leng nad . You might not rember yet." answered the AI.
Leng Pan who was about to ask what kind of la na that was swallowed back her words. She could not sha herself.
"It’s a good na." It was all she could say. After all, she had co up with the la na herself.
What kind of person was she in the past?
"Hubby, let’s go see what is in that room. Maybe we will find a clue." Leng Pan didn’t dwell too much on the na of an AI and held her husband’s hand to look for the room that had opened.
Even her thoughts of going back to sleep had long been forgotten.
