"The teorites that fall carry a certain type of gas that when inhaled will change people’s DNA. Those affected will either turn into zombies or awaken a superpower. Unfortunately, many do not awaken but turn into zombies. Others remain unaffected and are just normal people. Bai Yinyin is one of those who remain normal."
Leng Pan explained. Actually, she never understood the author of the book. Since Bai Yinyin was the female lead, she should be powerful with all the advantages, but apart from having the protagonist’s halo that allows her to use other people for her own benefit, she doesn’t possess her own strength. It was weird.
"Then we will worry about that later. Did you awaken a superpower?" Lu Zhen asked. He hoped she had because that way she could protect herself.
"Yes, water elent superpower. And you awakened a mutated fire elent. It was the strongest superpower I had ever seen. If it weren’t for holding you back, you would have been standing at the top by the end of the second year." Leng Pan lanted, blaming herself for being blind.
Huh!! Since when did she start treating herself as the person who had experienced all that? But that was good too.
"You could never hold back, if I wanted to stand at the top I am sure I would have found a way. All I want is to be with you."
Lu Zhen said as he lowered his head and planted a light kiss on her forehead.
"You said you have been buying supplies, did you put them in your parents’ villa?" Lu Zhen asked.
"No, that is the other thing I wanted to talk to you about. One of the reasons Bai Yinyin killed in the previous life, and why she has been pestering everyday recently." She replied.
"What is it?" Lu Zhen wondered what could have caused Bai Yinyin to kill her protector.
"I will show you." Leng Pan said as she held his hand and soon they vanished from the bedroom.
Lu Zhen felt slightly dizzy for a mont, then he found himself standing inside a huge warehouse.
The warehouse was filled with half supplies and water tanks.
He was shocked and didn’t co back to his senses until Leng Pan started talking.
"This is a personal space. It is inside a jade bangle I accidentally got from the antique street. I thought it was just a regular fake antique jade bangle but I didn’t expect that there was this space inside.
It can keep anything fresh no matter how long it is stored here."
"When did you get it?" Lu Zhen asked.
"I got it less than two weeks ago. In my previous life, Bai Yinyin already knew about the apocalypse and sohow also knew about the space in this bangle. But she never said anything to and only told that her grandma had said that the bangle I had bought at the antique street might be a part of their family heirloom set.
I never doubted her, so I was happy that I had accidentally retrieved a part of my friend’s family heirloom. I gave it to her without much thought.
It wasn’t until much later into the apocalypse that I found out the truth.
Bai Yinyin, probably worried that I would one day take back the bangle, and decided to kill ."
"How did she know about the apocalypse so early?" Lu Zhen asked.
Huh!! It was really difficult to deal with a smart husband. He had caught on to such a small detail.
"She was reborn. But she was reborn in the first apocalypse, I was reborn after she experienced it for the second ti. But the thing is, in both lifetis, she never learned to fend for herself."
"Did she tell you all that?" Lu Zhen asked.
"Mmmm... I found out about the bangle by accident when I saw her take food out of thin air when she thought nobody was around.
I realized that she had been pretending to be hungry, forcing to go out fighting with zombies to look for food for her but she even had hot als coming out of thin air.
I was angry and confronted her. Of course, she told about the bangle but still lied about the food, saying it was only one bowl and she didn’t bring it out before because she didn’t know how to divide it with other team mbers.
The stupid actually believed her and let her be. But she beca paranoid. Thinking that since the bangle was mine by right, I might demand it one day or take it by force.
So she decided to kill . It was at the mont the zombies were tearing that she mocked for being stupid and said that she had known about the space in the bangle and the apocalypse before it happened because she was reborn.
She had a lot of food and supplies in the space and only wanted to see suffer working hard to protect her because no matter what she did, I was always better than her.
Even the man she fancied would die to protect .
That’s when I realized that while I sincerely treated her as a friend, to her I was just a pawn she could use in her ga of chess to get what she wanted and trample on my dignity."
Leng Pan sighed as she narrated what was written in the book and the gaps she had filled herself.
Lu Zhen was even angrier when he heard the real reason she had died. He blad himself as he felt that it was his fault that Bai Yinyin killed his beloved.
"Don’t bla yourself. That woman is crazy and thinks that the world should revolve around her." Leng Pan could tell that the man was taking the bla for her death again and she didn’t want that.
" So, have you been buying supplies? How much have you bought?" Lu Zhen looked around the warehouse and asked.
Leng Pan took the two of them out of the space and back into the bedroom in the villa before replying.
