"Did that soldier have sothing important to tell you?" Leng Pan asked her husband as they laid down in bed that night.
They had already stored the firewood in the house and so of it had gone into her space. After dinner, the two had gone back to their apartnt to rest.
Leng Pan had been a mascot that day and hadn’t done any physical work except killing a few zombies on the way to the mountain and on the way ho.
And even then, all she needed to do was use her mist to turn the zombies into air. She had to admire the purifying power of her water superpower.
However, Lu Zhen was different. He had spent the entire day chopping firewood and transporting them ho.
So, she wanted him to rest early. That was why after dinner that night she had not followed the daily routine to have so family ti with the others and instead excused themselves to go back.
"One of my close friends who is in the military has been looking for but didn’t know where to find after missing at the villa." Lu Zhen said with a sigh.
He was glad that his friend was fine. But after being reminded that day, he beca a little depressed.
He didn’t know where his other friends were. His circle of close friends wasn’t big, but even though they didn’t see each other often, they were as close as brothers.
He had been caught up in the dawn of the apocalypse so much that he hadn’t had the ti to think about his friends, but now that he had been reminded, he decided to look for them.
If he was going to form a team, he didn’t want it to be with strangers he knew nothing about. Those could stab him or his family in the back for small benefits.
However, although humans had changed and betrayal was normal, he was certain that his friends would die before they betray him.
Thus, he wanted to look for them and form a team that would not hesitate to go through ice and fire for each other.
Leng Pan could feel her husband’s mood shift and she understood his concerns.
"We can go look for your friends before setting off for the lab. We can form a team and go together with them." She suggested this because she knew that it was what her husband wanted but felt that bringing other people on board would endanger her safety.
"Are you sure you are okay with that?" Lu Zhen asked as he hugged his wife tighter.
One could tell that his mood had improved.
He wasn’t as gloomy as before and so excitent could be heard in his voice.
"Of course, I am sure. I don’t think surviving the apocalypse ans giving up our normal lives completely.
We don’t have to give up on what we had before just to survive." Leng Pan hadn’t brought this up before because she was practically new to this world and the friends the original Leng Pan had made were all questionable.
She used Bai Yinyin as a gauge and decided not to bother with the others. She wanted to make friends of her own. Therefore, she wasn’t going to bother with the others. She was glad that she had also cut ties with that pretentious person Bai Yinyin.
"Thanks Baby, but we still can’t let them know about your situation yet." Lu Zhen was ecstatic that his wife supported him so much.
Since that was the case, he would do everything in his power to protect her, even from his friends.
"I trust your vision in making friends. There is no need to worry. However, I think we should find an opportunity to tell our family.
I believe they already understand that in the apocalypse, they have to protect their golden finger with their lives.
Otherwise, they would starve to death or get killed because soone believed they have more than one golden finger." Leng Pan suggested.
She felt that her family was ready to know the truth. Lu Zhen was still reluctant to accept this, but he also knew that his wife had a point.
They couldn’t hide the truth forever. If there was an opportunity, they could tell their family about the supplies and space. Especially since the space could now be used for living because of the mansion.
If their family was ever in danger, they had a place for refuge.
"Okay, we’ll find ti to talk to them about it. Don’t worry too much. Now go to sleep before the beast stirring inside of awakens and keeps you awake all night." Lu Zhen teased with a chuckle as he kissed his wife’s forehead.
"Who’s afraid of who? If you can keep awake all night, so can I. Besides, won’t I still wake up stronger that way?" Leng Pan shot back, not to be outdone.
Lu Zhen had to admit, he liked his wife’s feisty side. He liked when she went wild in bed every now and then. And like she said, even if they didn’t sleep and went at it all night like rabbits, they would only beco stronger because having sex seed to be a way for them to cultivate their superpowers.
"Hahaha...but I would rather you rest today. Getting stronger is important, but your body needs to recharge on its own as well." Lu Zhen was amused by his wife’s thought process, but he loved every side of her.
"Alright then. Goodnight hubby." Leng Pan decided not to argue about resting or having sex and decided to sleep.
"Goodnight Baby." Lu Zhen replied and kissed Leng Pan on the top of her head before closing his eyes to sleep as well.
The couple always felt content and safe in each other’s arms, so they drifted off to slumberland in minutes.
A few hours later, they were woken up by a commotion outside because their door was making noise.
