"You weren’t so bad yourself, hubby. When do you plan to absorb that crystal core? It ca at an excellent ti because if you advance as we are about to leave and go look for that lab, then that’s extra protection in case we et strong enemies." Leng Pan didn’t mind how her husband was teasing her and brought up the important thing first.

"I can do it tonight. We will be leaving tomorrow so if I can break through tonight, that would be an advantage." Lu Zhen replied to his wife and pecked her tender cheek.

That night, Leng Pan and Lu Zhen went into the space where Lu Zhen started to ditate and absorb the fire crystal core from that evolved zombie.

It is referred to as an evolved zombie because it could even hide so that it could launch a sneak attack.

That showed that it could think, albeit like a child. Seeing that zombies were starting to evolve, Leng Pan felt that they needed to find those so-called seals fast.

If an evolved zombie found one, things could beco very bad.

In order to speed up the absorption of the crystal core and probably trigger an advancent, Lu Zhen first touched the teorite placed in the mansion and absorbed so of the gas it emitted.

It had already been proven that the teorite was good for superpower users as it improved their strength.

After touching it, Lu Zhen found himself standing outside a city wall in a city that seed to have been made with the material that had built the mansion inside the space.

Looking at this familiar sight, she realized that this city was the sa place where the eting in a tent had been held. He still rembered that it was a eting about soone volunteering for so operation to store the consciousness of an individual and trigger rebirth.

Commander Leng, whom he believed to be his wife, had volunteered and no amount of begging had stopped her from doing what she thought was right for humanity.

He also rembered that because he could not accept her leaving him behind, he had also gone to the lab in secret and also signed up as a volunteer as well.

He had also had his consciousness stored and saved in a special stone. He still couldn’t rember what had happened after that but he was sure that it was nothing good.

At this mont, he saw himself standing outside the city wall with the gates of the city wide open.

Outside the city, however, was a purgatory. There was a bloody war going on between so monsters that were hard to look at and zombies as well.

Humans were in a smaller number but they were fighting like they didn’t care about their lives.

But from the looks of it, the humans wearing uniforms looked like soldiers who had signed a death warrant. It seed that as long as they killed so of the monsters, it didn’t matter if they died.

They were engaging in a very reckless fighting manner showing how separate they were.

Most of the humans as well as the zombies and monsters seed to have superpowers. Superpowers were flying everyone with so people hurling fire balls at others, others shooting water arrows, there were also others turning their entire bodies into tal and smashing their fists into those monsters and turning them into at paste.

The monsters and zombies were the sa and he could see that they were very strong.

So of the zombies were so strong that it didn’t seem normal for a zombie. So zombies could run as fast as flash.

Luckily, there were humans with the sa abilities.

However, although he was not a soldier and had only been a business man, it didn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that the humans were on the verge of losing the war.

Then Commander Leng ca out of the city and stood next to him.

"You should go back into the city." She said while looking at the battle still raging on.

"Why?" Lu Zhen asked.

"Don’t ask too many questions, just enter the city." Commander Leng insisted but Lu Zhen refused to obey.

In fact, he ran towards the battle and joined the fight.

His mutated fire ability was the sa as it was now, except for the purple hue that made it possible to control temperature.

With a wave of a hand, monsters burned and zombies turned to ashes.

It was the sa destruction power but the opponents had their own powerful soldiers as well.

The battle soon turned bloody and Lu Zhen could not rember how long he had fought.

He realized that the humans were dying faster than the enemy because humans were fewer in number compared to the monsters and zombies.

Leng Pan or Commander Leng seed to have realized the sa while fighting.

She was at the forefront of the battle fighting while giving orders.

Sotis, the two of them would combine their attacks and take out hundreds or even thousands of enemies.

Unfortunately, with each enemy that fell, two more replaced them.

Suddenly, he heard Leng Pan’s voice, " Fall back to Zone Theta everyone. Fall back." She kept shouting for the human soldiers to fall back because they were dying at an alarming rate. It almost felt as if the enemy had an invisible force helping them.

Upon hearing the Commander’s command, the soldiers began to fight while moving backwards towards the gate of the city.

Of course, more died in the process. When all the soldiers had entered the city, Commander Leng shouted again, "activate the compression seal, begin the vanishing protocol, I will hold the gate." She shouted again.

Lu Zhen watching all this from the transmission of the teorite didn’t know what the compression seal was or what vanishing protocol ant, but he could feel his heart almost stop beating.

He felt genuinely scared even though he didn’t know why he would have such a feeling when this was a mory, probably from his past life.
