The couple wanted to leave the city on their motorcycles to avoid the large amount of debris on the roads where teorites had fallen and ruined the roads.

If cars can’t pass, then it would be troubleso if they were travelling in a car. Therefore, they had discussed it and decided to use motorcycles.

Uncle Li stood up and went into the kitchen to pack so snacks he had made for them. He had made snacks that have a longer shelf life because they didn’t know how long they would be gone.

The truth was, Leng Pan had tonnes of cooked food in her space and didn’t need anymore, but since she still hadn’t divulged anything about the space to her family mbers other than her husband, she still had to accept what was given.

She and Lu Zhen had already packed their bags with so changes of clothes and dry store bought snacks for show of course since they have everything they need in the space.

Lu Zhen bent over to tuck his cargo pants into his military boots, which he had chosen because of convenience.

However, as he was tucking the trousers, the pendant on his neck ca out of his shirt where he had put it and was exposed to everyone.

Li Yunjia who had been looking at her son and feeling reluctant about letting him go on such a dangerous mission saw the jade pendant and gasped in surprise.

The other people in the living room heard her and turned to look at her.

"What is it, mother?" Leng Pan who saw her mother-in-law looking at her husband in surprise asked.

"Son, where did you get that pendant?" Li Yunjia suddenly stood up and walked to Lu Zhen quickly to take a better yat the pendant.

Lu Zhen upon hearing his mother’s question stopped what he was doing and sat up straight.

He looked up at his mother who was now standing in front of him and scrutinizing the pendant on his neck.

"We found it on top of a building near a place where a teorite had fallen." Leng Pan was the one who replied to her mother-in-law.

"It’s actually true." Li Yunjia said in a barely audible voice.

"What is true, Mom?" Leng Pan was now curious about what her mother-in-law was talking about.

This pendant had a mystery since it wasn’t like that when they found it. It had changed after staying close to the teorite for a while.

"Li Han, co and take a look at this." Instead of answering Leng Pan imdiately, Li Yunjia first called her brother who was still in the kitchen.

Hearing his sister call him by na, Uncle Li knew that sothing serious had happened, this, he left what he was doing and rushed back into the living room.

"What is it?" He asked even before he could stand in front of everyone.

"Take a look at the pendant Ah Zhen is wearing on his neck." Li Yunjia said with a quivering voice.

One couldn’t tell whether it was due to excitent or nervousness.

Uncle Li went close to Lu Zhen and looked at the pendant. Just like his sister had done, he gasped.

"Is anyone going to tell us why you are so shocked by my pendant?" Lu Zhen asked when he saw the sa reaction from his uncle which his mother had.

It looked like there was a secret to this pendant.

"That is not a normal pendant. I have seen pictures of it in ancient books in the Li family library. Too bad we didn’t get to save them before the apocalypse.

The pattern on the pendant is the sa as what is in the books. It is said to be a kind of key or seal that can be used by the Li family bloodline to avoid a crisis or sothing like that.

Because I thought it was so myth, I didn’t read what the book said about the pendant seriously.

However, I know that it has sothing to do with a war that had almost wiped out humanity." Li Yunjia didn’t have much information, but the amount she had shared was enough for Lu Zhen and Leng Pan to understand that the pendant had sothing to do with the war they saw in their mories of the past.

"Keep the pendant safe. It might co in handy in our fight against zombies." Uncle Li who seed to know a little more than his sister said.

He didn’t say anything else though and Lu Zhen didn’t ask. He had co to realize that his uncle was not as simple as he seed but if he didn’t want to say anything, he couldn’t force him.

"Alright, Uncle I will keep it safe." Lu Zhen didn’t argue and just agreed.

"Unbelievable." Li Yunjia was still surprised by the pendant and shaking her head.

It looked like she had always thought that the things talked about concerning ancient wars and things like that were fantasies but now that she had seen the pendant, she was finding it hard to accept that everything was reality.

Lu Tao was the only one looking confused because he couldn’t understand what the few adults were talking about. But seeing how serious they were, he knew better than to ask questions.

"Okay, wait a mont, your snacks will be ready in a short while. Don’t forget to carry weapons in case you encounter a situation where you need the use of weapons." Uncle Li advised as he turned and went back to the kitchen.

Leng Pan felt as if the elders had just made them curious about the pendant but left them hanging.

How could they do sothing like that? Don’t they know that it will only make them overthink about the pendant and what it was?

How cruel!

However, no matter what Leng Pan thought, nobody talked about the pendant again. In fact, everyone acted as if that conversation never took place.
