The following morning, Lu Zhen gave the training program he had made to the team leaders.
Blaze, Silk, Ouyang Jin, and the other elite fighters stood in a semi-circle, each holding a copy of the neatly written plan.
At first, they were calm as they read, then so were nearly driven to tears by the content.
Their expressions began to change.
Ouyang Jin’s lips twitched slightly at the corner, Blaze frowned deeply, while Silk blinked twice, as if wondering whether he had read it wrong.
One of the forr soldiers even rubbed his eyes before reading it again.
"How can there be such an inhumane training program in this world?" Ouyang Jin finally muttered, unable to hold it in any longer.
Lu Zhen stood calmly to the side with his arms folded across his chest.
"Inhumane?" he repeated lightly.
"Yes," Blaze said bluntly. "This isn’t training. This is torture."
Silk nodded in agreent.
"This level of intensity... most people won’t last a day."
Lu Zhen didn’t look offended, instead, his gaze turned cold.
"Then they can go and die faster outside." There was no way he would let his wife be sad again because of the deaths of so nobodies who refused to get stronger.
She didn’t have the obligation to babysit.
Leng Pan had just volunteered to deal with the apocalypse because of their experience in the last apocalypse.
However, he was not going to let it beco a burden.
So, these people had to train whether they liked it or not.
His words caused the whole place to go quiet.
They were all in the apartnt that had been converted into a training space during the extre cold.
Now that the compound couldn’t even be distinguished due to the flood water that still subrged buildings to the seventh floor, they could only train indoors.
Unless, they were training for water combat.
However, the planning still had to be done inside.
"If they can’t endure this," Lu Zhen continued calmly, "then they won’t survive the next encounter with those creatures."
"You are right." Momo spoke as she walked into the room as well.
"No matter how inhumane the training program is, as long as it can save more lives, then it will have served the ultimate purpose." Vanish also walked behind Momo as he spoke.
Blaze glanced at the program again before asking, "Did Commander Leng approve this?"
It wasn’t that he was questioning Lu Zhen’s authority, but they were so used to listening to Leng Pan they tended to overlook him.
"She didn’t need to."
Leng Pan’s voice ca from behind causing everyone to turn imdiately.
She walked toward them calmly, her expression composed but her eyes still carried traces of yesterday’s grief.
"I trust his judgnt," she added simply.
In fact, because Lu Zhen was more ruthless than she was, he was the best person for this job.
Leng Pan’s words settled the whole thing as no one spoke against the plan again.
The program was divided into multiple phases.
Each Hase seed more intense than the last. However, it also ensured steady growth.
In fact, it’s just that the people were used to fighting on dry land, that’s why they thought the training program Lu Zhen made was intense.
Phase one of the program included adaptation to water. In this way, they would have to stay in the water for hours to make sure that their bodies adapted and wouldn’t be overwheld the mont their boats capsized.
The second part in phase one was swimming in different heavy gear. This will ensure that even if survivors were forced off their transport, whether it was boats or otherwise, they wouldn’t leave their supplies behind.
That is the food that could save their lives.
There was no need to save their lives from the predators and co to die of starvation.
The third part in phase one was to learn how to control their breathing under water.
If they were thrown into the water but couldn’t even last a short while without surfacing for Breath, then they could just wait to beco food for zombies and other creatures in the water.
The other part is movent under resistance. If the survivors can still move at a high speed while facing resistance, then they would have a better chance of either fighting back or escaping.
The second phase of the training program included combat while in the water.
They would learn how to handle different weapons under water or how to make them using their abilities.
They also had to learn how to maintain balance in unstable environnts. For instance, if the boat kept rocking, learning how to maintain balance could prevent them from falling over while in battle
Lu Zhen had also included a section where they would have to improve their reaction against sudden attacks.
The third phase was more important but also the most inhumane according to Ouyang Jin.
That was to learn how to survive while carrying severe injuries.
If soone got hurt at the mont, they would probably just give up the fight because they see no hope in survival unless soone showed up in ti and saved them.
However, Lu Zhen’s program was ant to make sure that even when injured, survivors could save themselves.
Even with injuries, they could still fight and buy themselves ti or even win.
The other cruel part is to learn how to endure even under exhaustion.
No matter how tired one gets while fighting in the water, they must learn how to endure until the end.
This was sothing many people could never achieve, however, if it provides a chance of survival, many would still choose to hold on.
They also had to learn so escape techniques in case they were ambushed by enemies under water.
The last Phase of the program included real combat simulation where survivors would fight in real ti with moving targets under water without getting killed.
They must learn how to coordinate with their teammates even when fighting under water and in low visibility.
