[Host has picked up one (1) promotional flyer for Sanqiang Entertainnt dia Co., Ltd., triggering a special system reward. Reward: 71% equity in Baida Film and Television. The transfer agreent has been placed in the woven bag. Please retrieve it at your convenience.]

Hearing the notification in his mind, Fang Chenyi was montarily stunned—and not because he had finally received a special reward.

The main issue was that this special system reward seed to have nothing to do with Sanqiang Entertainnt dia Co., Ltd., the company he was actually interested in.

’I wanted shares in Sanqiang, so how did I end up with shares in Baida Film and Television?’

He shook his head, not knowing what to make of the situation, but he didn’t dwell on it. ’On second thought, Baida will have to do,’ he mused. ’If worse cos to worst, I’ll just tell them to bring their legal team over tomorrow to handle things. We’re all in the sa industry, so it should be easy enough to sort out.’

As he was thinking this, his phone suddenly rang. He picked it up and saw it was an unknown number.

He could already guess who it was. It had to be a call from Baida Film and Television.

Sure enough, after the call connected, a very respectful middle-aged man’s voice ca through:

"Chairman Fang, hello. My na is Wan Li, and I’m the head of Baida Film and Television, under the Baida Group. I’m a bit older than you, so feel free to just call Old Wan. I just saw that you personally acquired our company, so I wanted to call and check in. We welco you to visit and provide guidance anyti, Chairman Fang."

Just as he had thought, the person on the other end was the head of Baida Film and Television. He nodded and spoke calmly into the phone:

"Heh, I’ve heard great things about your capabilities, Old Wan. Although I’ve taken over Baida Film and Television, I don’t plan on interfering much. Just keep running things the way you always have. Oh, right, one more thing. Have you ever heard of a company called Sanqiang Entertainnt dia Co., Ltd.?"

On the other end, Wan Li was overjoyed to hear that his authority wouldn’t be revoked. But when he heard the chairman’s question, he frowned and began to think:

"Sanqiang Entertainnt dia... I don’t think I’ve ever heard of it. From what I recall, that na isn’t among the top 100 film and television companies in the country. Please wait a mont, Chairman. I’ll go and gather so information on this Sanqiang Entertainnt for you right now."

When Fang Chenyi heard that even Wan Li hadn’t heard of Sanqiang Entertainnt dia, it was clear just how small this dia company must be.

"You can forget about the background check for a mont. Here’s the deal: my sister-in-law was scamd out of over six million yuan by soone claiming to be from Sanqiang Entertainnt. When we went to confront them, they denied he was their employee. However, the guy was definitely driving one of their company cars."

Upon hearing this, Wan Li on the other end of the line was instantly furious:

"Sanqiang Entertainnt has so serious nerve, pulling a stunt like this on your family! Don’t you worry, Chairman Fang. I’ll get right on it. I guarantee a satisfactory resolution by tomorrow."

Fang Chenyi glanced at the ti. It was almost 10 p.m. He chuckled and said:

"It’s getting late. Let’s just leave it for today, there’s no rush. For tomorrow, though, I want you to arrange for our company’s legal team to co out. We’ll all go pay a visit to this Sanqiang Entertainnt. It takes about two hours to get there, so no need to make it too early. Let’s aim for one o’clock in the afternoon."

After setting the ti, they exchanged a few more pleasantries before hanging up the phone.

He washed his hands, walked out of the bathroom, and ca into the living room. Seeing everyone’s worried expressions, Fang Chenyi smiled slightly. But before he could speak, the phone in his pocket rang again.

At this, Fang Chenyi could only offer everyone a helpless, apologetic smile. He pulled out his phone and was surprised to see it was a call from Old Wang.

After giving everyone a small gesture, he turned and started walking toward the dining room while answering the call:

"Hahaha, Chairman Fang, I really don’t know how to thank you."

Old Wang’s opening line left him baffled. ’What’s going on?’ he wondered. ’I just acquired his company, Baida Film and Television, so why is he thanking ?’

Fortunately, Old Wang explained himself before Fang Chenyi could even ask. The man continued:

"This is the second ti you’ve saved from an urgent crisis. Ah, well... at least with Baida Film and Television in your hands, it’s staying in friendly territory. If I weren’t so desperate for the cash, I would never have let it go."

’So that’s what it was,’ Fang Chenyi realized. ’Old Wang was in a rush to cash out. No wonder.’

Fang Chenyi feigned a lighthearted laugh:

"Hey, it’s no big deal. But I have to give you a hard ti, Old Wang—next ti you’re in a bind for cash, just give a call first, alright? If I hadn’t heard the news and jumped on it, who knows where Baida Film and Television would have ended up. So, are you out of the woods now? Is the funding gap closed?"

Of course, Fang Chenyi was just saying that to flex. If it hadn’t been for the system’s special reward, there’s no way he could have afforded to buy shares in Baida Film and Television.

While his net worth had skyrocketed to an astronomical figure, none of it was liquid cash. The only four billion he’d "earned" had co in the form of antiques.

He was actually afraid Old Wang would open his mouth and ask to borrow a few billion.

Fortunately, Old Wang didn’t ask to borrow money after hearing that, which made Fang Chenyi breathe a sigh of relief internally.

After chatting for a while about the internal affairs of Baida Film and Television, they finally hung up.

Walking back into the living room again, he saw everyone’s eyes fixed on him. Fang Chenyi couldn’t help but rub his nose and give a sheepish smile. As he walked back to the sofa and sat down, he said nonchalantly, "Uh, heh, I just acquired a small company. Was just chatting with the forr owner for a bit."

But as soon as he finished speaking, Bai ngyao, who was sitting to the side, suddenly cried out in shock:

"Bro-brother-in-law, from your phone call... did you just acquire Baida Film and Television?! Oh my god! That’s Baida Film and Television! It’s one of the biggest film industry leaders in the entire country! How much must that have cost?!"

It had to be said, that six million yuan Bai ngyao lost wasn’t a complete waste. At the very least, it had forced her to learn a few things about film companies she’d never paid attention to before.

Hearing Bai ngyao’s words, the others were also a bit confused. Second Uncle, at his side, couldn’t help but ask:

"You acquired a company? Chenyi, you didn’t go and buy a whole company just because of what happened to ngyao, did you? How much must that have cost! Don’t let this ss up your own business!"

Before Fang Chenyi could answer, Bai ngyao spoke up again.

This ti, her voice was an incredulous shriek:

"Oh my God! The Baida Group just put out an announcent!"
