He played three more gas in a row, and surprisingly, he was able to recycle the items from inside every single ti. This made Fang Chenyi feel like he was starting to grasp the rules, yet he also felt sothing was still missing.
Finally, after he turned off the stream after the fourth ga, it dawned on Fang Chenyi. The system would only recycle items during a live stream.
To test his theory, Fang Chenyi had Principal Wang, who had just ended the broadcast, start the stream up again.
Sure enough, it was exactly as he’d suspected. As soon as the stream went live and hit a million viewers, the system’s recycling notification sounded in his mind again.
They played gas until eleven-thirty that night, at which point Fang Chenyi left the villa to head ho for bed.
The next day, Fang Chenyi didn’t wake up until after ten in the morning. When he got out of bed, he found that Bai nghan had already left for her classes.
Rembering he’d agreed to et Principal Wang at one in the afternoon, Fang Chenyi washed up, then rode his electric scooter straight to Char’s place for a al.
What else could he do? His parents and his in-laws had all gone to the company.
After eating ’breakfast,’ Fang Chenyi rode his electric scooter to Villa No. 6.
He saw the Knight XV parked by the entrance, washed until it glead. Fang Chenyi couldn’t help but nod. ’These guys are pretty diligent,’ he thought.
He parked his scooter and walked through the main gate of the villa complex. When he entered the yard, he stopped short. Several ropes had been stretched across what was once the recreational swimming pool. Fang Chenyi stared, puzzled, wondering what they could possibly be for.
On an empty patch of ground to the side, a high bar and a set of parallel bars had been installed. On another clearing, there was a large sandpit and a wooden wall painted in camouflage.
And that wasn’t all. There were also balance beams, a rope-climbing wall, a set of monkey bars, and other similar equipnt.
A quick glance revealed the whole area looked almost exactly like the training grounds you’d see in military dramas on TV.
’These rascals really went all out.’
Smiling, he shook his head, stepped forward, and pushed open the villa’s main door. The mont he stepped inside, Fang Chenyi froze again. The living room had been completely transford.
Camouflage nets had been draped over the entire living room, concealing any decorations that couldn’t be moved. Along the eastern wall, five army cots were lined up in perfect order. The quilts on them were folded into crisp, neat squares, just like tofu blocks. Behind each cot stood a tal locker. Underneath each bed were two plastic washbasins, with toothbrushes and towels arranged neatly inside—every setup was identical.
On the western wall, where a large television had once been mounted, there was now a video wall composed of dozens of smaller screens, like sothing out of a military command center on TV. It displayed live feeds from every corner of the villa complex.
The original sofa was gone, replaced by five tal chairs.
But that wasn’t the most shocking part. The most shocking part was the massive sand table, at least two ters wide, sitting in the middle of the living room!
It was a scale model of the entire villa complex.
He turned his head toward the entrance and saw a long row of tal lockers filled with neatly arranged security gear. There were expandable batons, rubber batons, riot control forks, and even a row of high-tech equipnt like night-vision goggles.
In short, if it was legal for a private citizen to own, they had it.
All in all, in just a few days, the place had been transford into a miniature ’combat’ command center.
Just as Fang Chenyi was struggling to find the words to express how he felt...
Qi Xiaotian, who had been sitting in front of the video wall dressed in camouflage, shot to his feet. He spun around and instinctively snapped to attention before Fang Chenyi.
After the solemn salute, his serious expression lted into a wide grin. He walked up to Fang Chenyi and said cheerfully:
"Heh heh, so, Brother Fang, what do you think? Are the renovations okay?"
Fang Chenyi smiled and pointed at the grinning Qi Xiaotian, chiding him good-naturedly:
"You really went all out, you little rascal. But I have to admit, after all your ’ssing around,’ this place looks pretty damn comfortable. I feel like this is how a man’s place should be."
Hearing Fang Chenyi’s praise, Qi Xiaotian scratched his head and chuckled sheepishly.
"Heh heh, as long as you approve, Brother Fang. I was worried you wouldn’t like it."
Fang Chenyi ignored him and walked over to the large sand table in the middle of the room. He asked, a bit dumbfounded:
"I’ve gotta hand it to you, kid, you’re really sothing else. A miniature model of the villa complex... how did you manage to get this?"
Qi Xiaotian hurried over to Fang Chenyi’s side and scratched his head. "Oh, this? I got it from the sales office. Since we bought the whole complex, it’s not like they had any use for it anymore, right?"
Fang Chenyi gave Qi Xiaotian a thumbs-up. Then, he pointed to the five sets of night-vision goggles, tactical helts, and high-intensity flashlights in the locker by the door and said with a laugh:
"For a small villa complex like ours, do we really need all this stuff...?"
Qi Xiaotian’s face flushed red at Fang Chenyi’s question, and he said, a bit embarrassed:
"Well... look, I won’t lie to you, Brother Fang. When I was buying the defensive gear, I went through a ’friend.’ I saw they had all this cool stuff and... well, I couldn’t help myself, so I bought it..."
Fang Chenyi didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. He said, exasperated, "Hey, there’s a lot of ’cool stuff’ out there. By that logic, if you found soone selling guns, would you buy those too?"
"Now that you ntion it, the thought did cross my mind..."
Qi Xiaotian muttered under his breath in response to Fang Chenyi’s teasing. This left Fang Chenyi speechless for a mont before he quickly warned him:
"Hey, don’t you go doing anything stupid, you hear ? We can’t get involved with anything illegal."
"Heh heh, don’t worry, Brother Fang. We know where to draw the line."
Hearing that, Fang Chenyi finally relaxed. He then turned and pointed to one of the full sets of tactical gear.
"Good, that’s more like it. So, uh... this stuff looks pretty cool. Set one of those kits aside for . You can just buy a new one to replace it later..."
Uhh...
Dark lines seed to cross Qi Xiaotian’s forehead.
Seeing Qi Xiaotian’s expression, Fang Chenyi burst out laughing and changed the subject.
"How co it’s just you? Where is everyone else?"
Qi Xiaotian pointed to the large monitor wall and explained to Fang Chenyi:
"Liu Yishou went to act as a driver for your mother-in-law. Shi Tou is standing guard at the entrance to the complex. Mu Tou and Gold are concealed at two surveillance points."
As they spoke, the two walked over to the monitor wall. Following Qi Xiaotian’s finger, Fang Chenyi looked at the feed from the complex’s only main entrance. There, a young man nad Liu Lei, dressed in camouflage, stood perfectly still inside a newly built guard post, his gaze fixed forward...
