Third Person's POV

It granted them a certain resilience and long lifespan but it also left them vulnerable to the worst kinds of cruelty.

They suffered unimaginable tornt if they were deprived of their blood supply and it was said that they could even die in a re week if not supplied with blood.

Just like humans and demons needed food, vampires needed blood.

They could consu normal sustenance but only for pleasure.

True survival ca from the crimson essence that pulsed within the veins of others.

And when they were denied their nourishnt, their bodies weakened and hardened like brittle stones until they could be shattered like fragile sculptures.

A bitter realization settled over him.

These won weren't just tortured. They were drained and kept alive, only to have their suffering prolonged.

She can not be saved even if the little duchess cos to her aid now.

Virelle's fists trembled at her sides.

"But why the need to torture them so much? Though I have heard of the notoriety of the Dark Goblins, they are not known for being this extre.

If they were every race would have united to fully exterminate these pests into a final extinction."

Her voice wavered and the sadness and shock in her eyes were barely concealed.

Though she had had her fair share of battles and was not a greenhouse flower like other noble won, this was on a different level entirely.

"Is it...Is it related to that three-horned skull projection?"

Ethan exhaled slowly as he replied.

"Yes. The atrocities they committed here were a direct offering to that being.

That three-horned crimson skull was the mark of an Extra-Terrestrial Void Nihility Demon—sothing those wretched Dark Goblins managed to summon through the world's boundary by offering these sacrifices."

Both Virelle and Velcy stiffened at his words.

"A Void Nihility Demon…?" Virelle whispered as her eye twitched from another dose of shock.

"Sothing like that actually manifested here?"

"Only its projection, but even that was enough to distort reality."

Virelle swallowed hard before asking,

"Then… how was it destroyed?"

Ethan turned towards another cave entrance, answering with a casual smirk.

"I fought its avatar. Along with the goblin commander that it reanimated and controlled."

Virelle's eyes widened in disbelief.

"You fought it? Alone?!"

Velcy's tail bristled as she echoed Virelle's concern and burning curiosity.

"We need details, Brother Ethan!"

He chuckled softly on feeling their excitent and began recounting the events of his battle though he deliberately omitted the awakening of his DreamShroud Devil Bloodline.

That was sothing he needed to understand himself before revealing it to anyone.

To take the vampire woman out of her misery and give her a swift and painless end, he struck with precision. It was a clean jab to her neck.

He had learned these things in the training of his previous life and didn't need to be taught by anyone.

Her spinal cord snapped instantly and brought her life to an end before she could feel any pain.

Gently, he laid her head down though his gaze lingered on her for a mont before he whispered a silent prayer, hoping that so higher power, if it existed, would grant her and the other victims of this valley a kinder fate in their next lives.

Virelle remained silent as she understood his intention and agreed with his thods as it was too unrealistic and impossible for her to lead a normal life if she could even survive in the first place.

As he spoke, he crouched beside another corpse. It was another vampire woman with torn garnts and pale pink muscles peeking through rotting flesh.

His keen eyes traced the structure of her body and were fascinated by the resilience yet fragility of their kind.

Virelle was unable to stomach the scene and turned away with a look of disgust. Her anger towards the dark goblins simred beneath her skin as her thoughts raced.

These Dark Goblins… they must have raided a convoy bound for Scarlet Hollow City. They have grown too bold and too brazen.

She clenched her jaw in determination.

Master must be inford about this.

The goblins of the Dark Hollow Pass have beco more dangerous. Stricter asures need to be employed. Security must be reinforced.

Ethan, anwhile, pressed further into the caves. More bodies awaited him.

So were human while others were elven but the common thing between them was that none of them had been spared.

Their remains were grotesque and so were barely recognizable as sentient beings anymore.

Yet Ethan was not shocked. Yes, He was Frustrated. But not shocked.

I have long since learned the horrors of this world.

Humans, due to their overwhelming numbers and genetic versatility were highly sought after by the Demons of the Central Dominance Lands and the vampires of the Southeast Stygian Woods.

It was a fact that both n and won of the human race could mate and reproduce with other races.

Though the result was a half-breed it was better than nothing.

As for the union of a vampire or demon, or an elf or demon, or an elf and a vampire was not very successful.

Even if the couple were lucky enough to bear a child, it would be a full demon or a full vampire or a full elf, not so half-breed.

But it was very very rare. On the other hand, a half-breed child was assured if they mated with a human man or woman.

But the arrogant Demons would obviously never surrender their won to the Human n but acted the opposite of it.

Many demon races suffered from dwindling populations and low birth rates that automatically made human won pri targets for forced breeding.

Vampires, on the other hand, had their own sinister appetites as human and elven blood were among their most coveted delicacies.

From the Southern Shadow Lands of the Dark Star Continent, human slaves were ferried like cargo in the slave ships and transported to the Stygian Woods where they were auctioned off to the highest bidder.
