Third Person's POV
She couldn't deny that they looked perfect together, just like a tiless painting.
But she couldn't help the pang of longing that surged within her.
But I want to be there too, she thought as her tail flicked restlessly.
Acting on impulse, she whined internally for a mont before dashing toward them and leaped onto Ethan's other side.
As if expecting this, Ethan outstretched his right arm and caught her midair.
The impact jostled Virelle awake and pulled her from her sweet dreams.
She blinked her crimson eyes in mild annoyance as she adjusted to her surroundings.
But when she noticed Velcy pressing herself tightly against Ethan's other side, her brows twitched.
Isn't she too old to be acting cute and clingy like this? Is she doing it on purpose?
A frown settled on her face as she glanced between Ethan and Velcy.
Maybe it was ti to put an end to this behavior.
She needed to have a word with Ethan as she had already observed that he was used to indulging Velcy far too much.
She was no longer a child.
Yes, I have to do this soon...
She nodded to herself as her expression shifted through various emotions.
Ethan who was noticing her odd behavior, raised a brow in response.
What's going on with her? Is she...
Before he could ask, Virelle abruptly sat up and grabbed Velcy's arm.
With a gentle tug, she pulled her away from Ethan's embrace.
"Alright, little Velcy, it's ti to cook these rabbits. You don't want to let your Big Brother Ethan go hungry, do you?"
Velcy hesitated as she was torn between wanting to stay by Ethan's side and fulfilling her responsibility.
But after glancing at the two rabbits in her hands, she sighed and followed Virelle toward the lakeside.
Ethan had already prepared a makeshift wooden barbecue stand before their journey, so Velcy swiftly got to work and started skinning the rabbits with Virelle's help.
Once prepared, they placed the at over the fire, which Virelle ignited effortlessly using her innate blood fla.
One small ember was all it took for the black firewood to burst into a controlled inferno.
She then took out an assortnt of seasonings and spices from her spatial ring and sprinkled them over the glistening gray rabbit at.
Ethan watched with a smile as he reminisced about their first campfire cooking experience two years ago in the Stygian Woods.
Even though he was a decent cook, Virelle had imdiately taken over after tasting his first al while claiming that she would handle it from then on.
He had been surprised as despite being an heiress to a duke family she still knew how to cook, and exceptionally well at that.
Even Velcy, who was usually indifferent and uninterested in anything else had taken an interest in learning from her on slling the tasty aroma of food which she was so much deprived of in her slavery days.
Since then, cooking beca a shared activity and a way for them to bond and unwind in their hunts together.
Even now, she was helping with hunting and skinning the rabbits while Virelle handled the grilling.
"It's ready," Virelle announced as she sliced the at into portions.
The three of them gathered around the fire as the tantalizing sll of the roasted rabbit made their mouths water.
Ethan took a bite and savored the rich smoky flavor it carried. The at was tender and succulent while the dark elent enhanced its natural taste while making it greasy and gritty.
"This is amazing," he said, his voice muffled by a mouthful of food.
Virelle smiled and was clearly pleased.
"I am glad you like it."
Ethan, ever the attentive one, occasionally wiped the oil stains from Virelle and Velcy's lips.
Velcy accepted it without thought as her attention was fully on the food but Virelle's reaction was entirely different.
Her cheeks flushed as Ethan gently wiped her tender red lips and let his fingers linger on them for a mont as their eyes t in an intimate gaze.
Her smoldering stare sent a silent ssage, and Ethan smirked knowingly and was about to tease her when the sound of growling and light but multiple footsteps disrupted the mont.
The three of them stopped eating and turned their heads toward the disturbance.
From the bushes erged a group of ten to twenty small dark goblins.
At first, they were surprised to see the creatures, but soon they dismissed them and continued eating.
"Brother Ethan, do you want to take care of them, or should I?"
Virelle asked nonchalantly as she chewed on her food.
Hearing her question, he finally glanced at them properly.
The goblins were a motley crew and were clearly weaker than the large tribe they encountered earlier but one thing remained the sa.
And that was the malice and lust in their eerie yellow toad eyes.
They carried crude weapons including jagged bone knives, rusted short swords, and wooden clubs stained with dried blood.
Their attention was imdiately drawn to Virelle and Velcy and their lecherous ugly grins widened as they pointed and chattered in their guttural language.
Velcy, noticing the exchange, suddenly raised her hand and started pleading with Ethan.
"Let do it, please, Big Brother."
Ethan turned to her as amusent flickered in his eyes.
Her tail and ears started glowing and shining in excitent as her tail wagged uncontrollably.

The sudden change in her whole persona made her glow like an angel which further shocked the dark little midgets.
The goblins muttered among themselves in their grotesque language and their yellow toad-like eyes glead with even greater desire as they pointed at Velcy.
Ethan let out a small chuckle and patted Velcy's head.
"No, I will handle them but not in the usual way. I want to test sothing. I have been aning to try this for the past two days, and they arrived at the perfect ti."
His smile darkly as curiosity flickered in Virelle and Velcy's eyes on hearing him.
