Chen Bitong rembered the unique nature of Chen Chuan’s refined force. If he was correct in his analysis, Chen Chuan could use it to simulate various refined forces. He was also very durable, to the point where even Chen Bitong himself had been unable to force him to retreat despite the power borrowed through his ntal energy. Chen Chuan was more suited between them to be the main attacker.

He observed Chen Chuan. He was motivated, determined, and fearless. When Chen Bitong was young, he had been like this too.

After lanting about this for a bit, he asked, “You used quite a bit of stamina, didn’t you? Can you keep fighting?”

Even if stamina wasn’t a factor, mutated tissue would still get tired. Before Chen Chuan ca to Roaring Victory District, he should have already fought against soone. Later on, he fought against Chen Bitong, and all of it required energy. Chen Bitong himself could still continue to fight, but he could no longer compare to himself when he was at peak condition.

Chen Chuan had indeed burned quite a lot of energy. Even though he had his second self and would never run out of stamina because of it, he had clashed twice against the strange power, and his second self only had two-fifths of his durability left.

He might have to go up against that sort of power again, so he had to be careful.

While he had taken recovery dicine before fighting Chen Bitong, its effects had been almost entirely used up in the fighting.

After so thinking, he took out the recovery dicine Liang Guanghai had sent him. Once he flipped off the cap, he threw his head back and finished it.

Soon, he felt a wave of heat spread through his body, and every part of it went warm. Strength filled his limbs, and his mutated tissue beca active. His body wasn’t the only one feeling reinvigorated. His mind beca sharper as well.

He took so ti examining himself. This dicine was the strongest out of all the recovery dicines he had ever taken. It felt like he had returned to his peak. He also had a feeling that it would keep providing him with ample energy for a period of ti.

The dicine the World Ring Defense System gave him was truly extraordinary.

Of course, it also had side effects. A good portion of his second self turned blurry, which ant that the dicine was highly destructive to the body.

Still, Chen Chuan had his second self to absorb this damage. Even regular Third Limit martial artists would take this highly damaging dicine without hesitation if it ant that they could regain their fighting power quickly.

After all, once a martial artist reached the Third Limit, as long as they still had stamina and blood essence, they could heal all of their injuries. They didn’t need to worry too much.

When Chen Bitong saw Chen Chuan take dicine to recover, he let his eyes fall shut and released blood essence to regulate his body.

After a while, he opened his eyes, and the spark inside had beco stronger again.

“The cavalryman we fought didn’t have a flag of his own. He should just be an aide-de-camp without a title. The commander is most likely an assistant general.

“That ans he’s unlike royally appointed warriors like the Iron Monster. He won’t go through a process when he transforms. He has adapted completely to the vitalized organ and has beco one with them.

“He’s also like and has ways to draw power from the other world. Even though this is what he relies on to win, it also makes it easy to predict what he’s going to do.

“When in danger, he will use this power without hesitation, but he needs to be focused to do that. Once he starts drawing that power, his awareness of his surroundings and his body will drop. This will be the best ti to kill him.”

“I’ll create that chance for you, Instructor Chen,” Chen Chuan promised seriously.

“We can’t predict what’s going to happen, so we’ll need to adapt to the situation when we’re there. It does not matter who delivers the final blow. The mont you see a chance, go for it. I have an idea. We can do this.”

He grabbed a spear and drew a few lines on the ground before nodding. Then, he pointed at it. “While this plan makes things harder, it’ll be easier for us to catch him by surprise.”

Chen Chuan took a look at the lines and ran them through in his head. It was doable. At the very least, if the general ran into this sort of ambush all of a sudden, he wouldn’t be able to react to the situation.

“The chances of your plan working are really high. Let’s do it,” Chen Chuan agreed.

The attackers were crucial in making sure the plan succeeded. No matter how good a chance presented itself, if the attackers were no good, it would be useless. Chen Bitong had proposed this plan precisely because of their abilities. Due to their specific individual abilities, they had more possibilities to explore.

Then, he gave Chen Chuan a grim reminder. “I don’t doubt that you can make your way to them, but you still need to be careful. If you find yourself unable to advance, retreat.”

Chen Chuan was the one charging into their midst, which ant facing the full force of their defenses. He would have to deal with an unbelievable amount of pressure. Even if everyone else was nothing to him, the aide-de-camp and commander were going to be more dangerous than when facing Nie Guanshan and Yangshen alone.

Chen Chuan nodded as a promise.

“Once the fires dim a little, we’ll attack,” Chen Bitong proposed.

Once the aide-de-camp returned to the base of the mountain, tons of white mutated tissue grew out of the gash on his back. Soon, his wound closed, and even his armor repaired itself.

His armor had its own mutated tissue and could recover along with his body.

When he arrived under the flagpost, he reported to the commander that the two enemies he fought were strong and really troubleso and detailed their fighting styles and strengths.

The commander didn’t care that the offense had failed. They could always organize another one. They just had to adjust their strategy for the next offense due to the overwhelming strength displayed by the two defenders.

One advisor suggested attacking with cannon fire first to block off all possibilities of the enemies attacking them. Once their own airships arrived, they could overpower the two.

The commander rejected the suggestion.

The two were martial artists who had almost reached transcendence. Regular cannon and machinegun fire wouldn’t be able to harm them. Besides, since the two had co here, they had a chance to fight them.

If instead they were forced back to the other side of the gap, it would make it harder for them to break through to the other side.

The best thod was to kill them while they were here. Previously, they had been hesitant because they didn’t know about the enemy deploynt and their true strength. Now, they had a certain chance of winning.

The commander started making arrangents. This ti, he intended to attack with his aide-de-camp and get rid of the obstacle up there.

Once orders were passed down, the soldiers started moving into formation. The royally-appointed warriors drew closer to the flag.

By the ti the fires dimd, Chen Bitong and Chen Chuan were almost ready. Chen Bitong gave Chen Chuan a nod before stepping out of the gap first. He then disappeared into the fog.

Chen Chuan walked out as well and looked down. The fog covered the mountainpath, and he couldn’t see what was really going on down there. All he could make out was the flag.

The royal family placed a lot of emphasis on protocol and ceremonial conduct, so rules were enforced strictly in the military. Commanders couldn’t stay far away from the flag, so that served as a great point of reference for Chen Chuan.

Besides the chase last ti, they hadn’t taken the initiative to leave the gap. Hiding inside was undoubtedly safer, so the enemy wouldn’t expect them to charge down the mountain.

But they only had this one chance.

Chen Chuan cast a glance at the Frost King Saber and pushed his mind into it. When destroying the second propagated offspring, he had co to realize that when he truly needed the saber, he could make it wake up for a brief amount of ti.

Chen Chuan didn’t need it for long. The mont a chance showed up, he might only be able to deliver a single slash.

As he focused, the Frost King Saber started trembling. Clearly, it had sensed him and understood what he wanted.

Once the assault began, they weren’t going to be able to hide their tracks anymore. The army at the base of the mountain was going to react.

Not that he planned to hide. What Chen Chuan needed to do was draw everyone’s attention and give Chen Bitong the chance to attack.

A mont later, the fire at the entrance of the military base almost went out. Chen Chuan sucked in a deep breath and walked forward.

Everything around him slowed down. As he moved forward, a loud explosion rang out near him as the ground trembled.

There were soldiers in charge of sentry duty scattered here and there on the mountainpath. All they heard was a loud bang before a violent gust of wind rushed past them.

So of them had their muscles and bones torn apart after the wind brushed past them. Then, they were sent flying.

Chen Chuan was completely unaffected and kept up his montum. Once he overlapped with his second self, he beca faster.

His ntal energy also grew while his mind beca elevated. Affected by this, his Frost King Saber started humming and trembling. Strands of light resembling fog rose from it.

In just a few monts, he traveled several kiloters and reached the military base.

The commander sat on his horse under the flag and showed no sign of retreating. Once the royally appointed warriors and guards realized that things were going awry, they rode forward to form a defensive formation and lifted their spears.

The aide-de-camp also drew closer to the commander.

They hadn’t expected the enemies to charge down. In order to make it easier for their n to attack, they had leveled the ground in front of them and cleared it, so there were no road blocks or defenses set up on the way up to the gap. By the looks of it now, they had also made it easier for the enemy to attack them.

Chen Chuan rushed down in a straight line to the flag. Even when he saw the obstacles and countless spears in front of him, he did not slow down. He ran straight into them.

The mont the spears touched him, they exploded. Wooden shards and tal shrapnel flew everywhere. So of them even struck their owners, which led to a wave of pained screams.

Then, all the guards and royally appointed warriors at the front row felt like a high-speed train had run into them.

Bam!

An opening appeared in the formation. Broken bodies and weapons flew backward in the direction of the charge.

Chen Chuan’s coat shredded because of the clash, but his eyes remained fixed on the commander ahead. After breaking down the formation, he tapped against the ground, though he still managed to generate such a powerful push that he leapt into the air. With both hands, he brought the saber up and swung it down at the commander’s head.
