With an expressionless face, Roman stood up from the black couch he was sitting on and approached Samantha.
"Thank you for the hard work," Roman said simply, his voice devoid of emotion. He was about to walk past her before he stopped.
"I would like to be a shareholder," Roman said, and Samantha, who was standing rooted in one place, felt like screaming.
Her eyes bulged out, and she paled as if she saw a ghost. ’What did he say? He wants to be a shareholder? Oh my, this is a dream co true,’ she thought, smiling ear to ear.
Taking care of Julie is indeed a fortune for Samantha.
Coming to stand in front of her, Roman sized her up for the second ti. ’She looked so pretty,’ Roman thought in his head, his expressionless face giving away nothing.
"Let’s go," Roman said, and Julie, who was expecting him to comnt or say sothing, nodded her head, but her face was full of disappointnt.
Julie followed from behind as they walked out of the room and the entire salon. Enoch, who was waiting in front of the door, was stunned when he saw the lady who followed behind his childlike employer.
’Hmm, sir, you sure have good taste,’ he thought, and was quick to comnt, as he wasn’t scared of this big bad wolf.
"Miss, you look stunning," he said with a big smile on his face, and Julie, who was disappointed earlier after hearing the driver’s comnt, was nowhere to be seen, and she smiled back, nodding.
"Thank you, sir. You know, you’re the first one to comnt," Julie said happily, smiling and looking at Enoch.
"Get in," Roman said, and Julie was surprised to find him holding the car door for her. She blinked. "Thank you," Julie said, still surprised, as she got into the car and sat comfortably. But the door didn’t get closed, and Julie raised her eyes, wondering what was wrong.
Instead of sothing being wrong, she found the devil’s face right in front of hers.
Looking at him so close and gesturing her to move backward so he could get in without having to go and open the other door, Julie went into another trance.
’What is he doing, bringing his face so close and moving his head like that? Does he need a kiss? But we’re not even married yet,’ Julie thought, her mind racing.
"Move back," she suddenly heard his voice, and Julie was ’huh?’ when he repeated himself, as Julie was in her world, thinking. "Move back," Roman said again, his voice firm but low, and Julie was quick to move after coming out of her world.
"Drive, Enoch. Don’t make us late, or..." Roman threatened Enoch, who was peeping at them from the mirror, wondering what would happen next. Enoch quickly turned on the engine.
It was quiet in the car as they drove to their final destination, the marriage registry, where both of them were going to sign their marriage papers.
Julie was nervous as they arrived at the marriage registry, and as she got out of the car with Roman, they were quick to arrived to the judge room to sign the papers.
There, they ca across Roman’s lawyer, who was waiting for their arrival. "Good morning, sir, ma’am," he greeted, and though he knew their marriage was fake, that didn’t stop him from calling her ’ma’am.’ As he knew he should pay so respect to his soon-to-be lady boss.
"Miss Wilson and Mr. Thompson?" the judge called their nas after Roman’s lawyer handed him the papers.
"Yes," both of them said in chorus, their voices blending in perfect harmony. The judge’s eyes sparkled with amusent as he gazed at the couple before him.
The dim lighting of the registry office highlighted the sharp angles of his face, making Roman appear even more formidable.
"Are you both willing to get married and be with each other in hardship and happiness, in every kind of situation, you will stick together and pass through thick and thin?" the judge asked, his voice solemn and resonant.
Roman’s response was imdiate, his deep voice filled with determination. "Yes." The single word seed to echo through the room, leaving no doubt about his commitnt.
Julie, however, hesitated, her mind racing with doubts. ’Am I ready to lock myself with him forever?’ she thought, her palms growing sweaty.
’But if not him, who? And where will I go now? All I have is him, even though it’s a fake marriage...’ Her eyes dropped, her thoughts consud by uncertainty.
The silence in the room seed to stretch on forever, punctuated only by the soft hum of the air conditioning.
The judge’s voice pierced through her reverie, calling her na twice. "Julie Wilson, do you agree?" Julie’s heart skipped a beat as she realized she had been lost in thought.
Roman’s gentle touch on her hand brought her back to reality. "Julie," he said softly, his eyes locked on hers.
"Love, what’s wrong? The judge is asking you a question. Don’t you want to marry anymore?" Roman’s brow rose, his tone laced with amusent, as he called her "love" in front of everyone.
Julie’s cheeks flushed as she t Roman’s gaze. She felt a flutter in her chest, unsure how to react to the term of endearnt. "Oh, I just spaced out," she said, turning to face the judge.
"Yes, I’m willing." Her voice was barely above a whisper, but it seed to carry weight in the silence.
The judge nodded, a warm smile spreading across his face. "Since both of you agreed, you can now sign the papers." He handed them a pen, and Roman took it, signing his na with a flourish.
Julie followed suit, her hand trembling slightly as she wrote her signature.
As they signed the docunts, Roman’s hand brushed against Julie’s, sending a spark of electricity through her body. The touch was fleeting, but it left an indelible mark on her senses.
The judge’s announcent followed, "Congratulations, you are now husband and wife."
"Thank you," they chid in unison, their voices harmonious. The judge’s eyes lit up with amusent.
The judge chuckled. "By the way you are talking in chorus, I believe you will be together forever." Roman nodded, his expression unreadable, while Julie’s gaze lingered on the marriage papers.
The words "Marriage Certificate" seed to leap off the page, a stark reminder of the commitnt she had just made.
"Congratulations, sir," the lawyer said, shaking Roman’s hand. "Congratulations, ma’am, you’re now my lady boss." Julie smiled politely, her mind reeling with the weight of her new title.
She felt like an imposter, playing a role she wasn’t sure she was ready for.
As they exited the room, Roman turned to Julie and said, "Congratulations, you’re now Mrs. Thompson." Julie’s response was lost in her thoughts, her mind racing with the implications of her new role.
She felt a sense of disorientation, as if her whole world had been turned upside down.
After so seconds Julie’s response was hesitant, her eyes searching his face. "What happens now?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Roman’s expression turned solemn. "Now, we go ho and start our new life together."
Julie’s gaze dropped, her mind racing with questions. What did this an for her future? Would she be trapped in a loveless marriage?
Roman’s hand on her elbow guided her toward the car. "We need to talk about the terms of our agreent," he said, his voice firm.
Julie’s heart sank. She knew she had agreed to this arrangent, but the reality was daunting. What would her life be like now?
As they reached the car, Roman opened the door for Julie. "Get in," he said, his expression unreadable.
Julie hesitated, feeling a sense of trepidation. What lay ahead?
