Readers my apology for yesterday especially to those who pay for the Chapter expecting a new one, I’m writing exams so please bare with .

Joyce_ackom_Dwomoh, sorry my biggest fan.

It started as a murmur.

Low. Curious. Almost hesitant.

Then it spread like wildfire.

"Did you see that?!"

"Who is he?!"

"He is the king of the business world, one of the richest bachelor in the country," One of the students spill without taking a breath eyes widening.

"I swear I’ve seen him on Forbes or sothing huah," one of the students gasped." was that Roman Thompson?"

"Impossible. Why would a man like that show up in a university building?" another one said.

"No offense course he is," the other one said who standing right besides the one who asked who is he earlier.

"Wait. WAIT. Did he... co for Julie?"

That last question fell like a bomb in the hallway.

Then soone snorted. "Pfft, get serious. Why would Roman Thompson co for Julie Wilson?"

"I don’t know... maybe she’s his cousin or sothing?"

"Please, my cousin won’t co with bodyguards and a hallway full of judgntal undergrads for ."

"No seriously though," one student whispered, clutching their phone with both hands. "Did anyone see the way he walked in? It was like sothing out of a mafia movie."

"Or a perfu comrcial. He’s danger with jawline."

Seriously students.

Hahaha.

Then.

From the far end of the hall Miranda who was about to walked back to her class stood frozen.

Still as a statue.

Her lips parted slightly. Her perfectly manicured finger was jamd against her lower lip—chewed raw in the last thirty seconds.

No one noticed her eyes narrow, her breath catching in disbelief.

Roman?

Here?

She blinked hard, as if hoping it was a hallucination.

But it wasn’t.

And the worst part?

He hadn’t even noticed her standing in the corridor.

Not once.

If it wasn’t Miranda—the girl whose love was about to be humiliated—then who? Why would he even glance at you.

He just walked in like she didn’t exist.

Like Julie was the only one in that building.

Yes to him of course.

A girl who is standing in between her friends said "Maybe he’s her legal guardian," soone said, hopeful as she don’t want him to be what is she expecting.

Julie’s lover.

"Maybe he’s suing the school." one of her friends said and "hmm," she exhale in relief.

"Maybe she’s his niece isn’t it what do you think, Abigail,"

"Yes probably why will he be sothing else in the first place," the girl na Abigail scoffed replaying.

"Maybe he’s dating the Dean’s daughter!" one of them said.

"Probably you know he co to offer his greetings,"

"Maybe..." a girl started slowly, eyes widening, "...he’s her sugar daddy."

Soone choked on their gum.

"No way. She doesn’t even dress like a sugar baby!"

"Yes there is no way he will be her lover," The first girl who said he is her legal guardian said nodding her head.

Another girl shrugged. "You never know. Maybe it’s that ’keep it lowkey’ type."

Miranda who was standing not far away from the girls had heard enough.

"Shut up," she snapped without realizing it, eyes still on the closed door.

Everyone turned.

"Excuse you?" soone blinked.

"She’s just jealous," soone whispered behind a hand.

"I am not jealous!" Miranda snapped louder this ti—loud enough that people paused, watching her like she was the one unraveling now.

She composed herself instantly, brushing imaginary lint off her blouse, and turned her nose up.

But the whispers had already moved on.

"Do you think he’s gonna buy the school?"

"He doesn’t need to. He just looked at the building and the stock prices probably changed."

"But imagine he co for her," in the other end of the corridor Soone asked.

"How did Julie even et soone like that?" now Bekora said to his friend his eyes brow close to hugging each other.

"Maybe she saved his life." One of his friends said but that make Bekora raise an eye brow.

For a long mont, no one breathed.

No one dared.

The dossier sat like a ticking bomb in the middle of the table.

Roman stood still—an unmoving sentinel of wrath and protection—and Julie... Julie could barely process what had just happened.

Her mind was a blur of confusion, awe, and disbelief.

She didn’t even know he was coming.

She hadn’t called for him.

But he ca anyway.

For her.

He ca for her.

Julie blinked rapidly, trying to keep the tears from falling. She didn’t want to cry. Not here. Not in front of them.

But sothing broke inside her.

Not from pain.

From relief.

Because for the first ti in what felt like forever... she wasn’t alone.

Roman turned to her then.

His eyes softened—only for her.

That slight tilt of his head. That near-imperceptible furrow of worry above his brow. His silent way of asking are you alright?

She nodded once.

Then stood.

Her knees shook, but she walked.

Past the table.

Past their judgnt.

Past their questions and their power.

Straight to him.

She stopped in front of him—and for one suspended heartbeat, neither moved.

Then Roman reached out and took her hand.

Gently. Without force. Without demand.

Fingers laced into hers like they belonged there all along.

The room vanished.

She clutched his hand like it was the only anchor left in a world that wanted to drown her.

And when he pulled her gently to his side—shielding her from the world—her tears finally fell.

Not from fear.

Not from humiliation.

But from sothing far more dangerous.

Love.

"Let’s go," he said quietly, gently.

She nodded, barely able to speak.

Every student in the corridor now wore the sa expression:

A confused, curious, wide-eyed question mark.

And just as they were about to return to their theories the door burst open.

And there he led her out, step by step, as silence echoed behind them.

Roman Thompson.

With Julie Wilson at his side.

Not trailing behind.

Beside.

Their hands?

Intertwined.

The hall gasped collectively, like the climax of a K-drama playing out in real life.

Phones dropped.

Jaws unhinged.

And Miranda?

She didn’t bite her finger anymore.

She bit back a scream.

Because the truth was no longer hiding.

The truth walked past them, eyes calm, steps confident, with the girl no one thought mattered held close at his side.

Like she was the whole damn world.

And as they passed through the corridor flanked by guards, every student, every staff mber, every soul present knew one thing—

Julie Wilson was not the scandal.

She was the storm that survived it.

And Roman?

Roman was the man who reminded the world that sotis, justice doesn’t co with a gavel.

It cos wearing black, walking in silence, and leaving the world trembling in its wake.

Not even when the heavy doors shut quietly behind Roman and Julie like the end of a Chapter no one had seen coming.

Julie didn’t speak.

She couldn’t.

Roman hadn’t let go of her hand. And sohow, that touch—the silent weight of his fingers wrapped around hers—was the only thing holding her together.

The guards moved ahead, clearing the way with practiced ease.

The hall, once buzzing with noise and noise-makers, had gone pin-drop silent, as though no one dared to breathe in case they missed sothing.

Julie kept her gaze forward, chin slightly lowered, heart still stumbling in disbelief.

Roman didn’t look at anyone.

Not a glance.

But he saw it all—the side-eyes, the cara flashes disguised as casual movents, the dozens of hands subtly reaching for phones.

And still, he walked. Calm. Tall. Untouched.

Outside, the black car was already waiting—sleek, expensive, and gleaming under the sun like a threat wrapped in wealth. Two more guards stood by its sides.

When they reached the vehicle, Roman let go of her hand just long enough to open the door himself.

He didn’t gesture to the driver.

He didn’t nod at anyone else.

He opened it.

For her.

Julie blinked up at him, stunned for a second. Not by the car. Not by the guards. Not even by the suffocating silence behind them.

But by the way he looked at her.

Like she mattered more than every na, every cara, every lie in that entire building.

Roman said nothing. But his eyes asked: Are you ready?

Julie inhaled slowly.

Then nodded.

She stepped in.

He closed the door gently—like she was glass.

And the mont the latch clicked shut, that’s when the students watching from the far courtyard truly lost it.

From behind columns, behind benches, peeking from inside classrooms with blinds tilted just so—

Caras were up.

Life videos were rolling.

So were whispering in real-ti comntary:

"Bro. BRO. He opened the car door for her."

"Dude, I’m filming, shut up!"

"No, wait—wait, did you get her face? She’s crying."

"She’s not crying, she’s glowing. That’s main character energy right there."

"Oh my God—what if they’re secretly married?"

"No, I refuse. I can’t breathe. That man just un-alived the entire administrative board without raising his voice and now he’s opening her door like a scene from a billionaire romance. We are in the plot!"

One girl clutched her chest. "Sobody hold , I think I just witnessed the climax of a hidden novel."

Across the courtyard, Miranda stood frozen again.

Still biting her finger.

Only this ti?

It bled.

The car door on Roman’s side opened.

He slipped in, slow and composed.

The guards closed in, returning to formation.

The car pulled away.

And the only thing left behind was a group of stunned students who had just fild a legend unfold—without even knowing the prologue.

And Julie?

Inside that car, next to the man who just burned down every wall for her?

She let out the breath she didn’t know she was holding.

And whispered, just for him:

"You ca."

Roman looked over at her, and for the first ti since he arrived—

He smiled.

"Of course I did," he said. "You’re mine."
