Now reading: Chapter 263: Factory Calamity (Part 2) from Rotting Land: Survive, a Sci-fi novel by Kiwi 008.

With a brief preparation, Dazhuang wielded an axe, Old Lin held a stick, and Wang Qiang carried Snake Spear. The three jumped off the city managent vehicle, forming an angular formation as they slowly walked towards "Zhongkun Textile."

At this mont, their emotions were incredibly complex. After all, just a few seconds ago, they were exceptionally delighted at the thought of returning ho. But now, the huge disparity with reality made their emotions plumt, and strong anxiety and fear enveloped each of their hearts.

The three n cautiously approached the factory's main entrance, and Lin Junfu glanced at the damaged iron gate.

It was clear from its condition that it had been damaged due to an external impact, which only deepened Lin Junfu's worries.

"Everyone, be careful!" After softly reminding them, Lin Junfu led the team forward.

The factory was deathly silent, completely devoid of the bustling atmosphere from when they left. Yet despite this quiet, Lin Junfu dared not be careless. In a post-apocalyptic world, the quieter a place is, the more likely it is to harbor unimaginable dangers.

After walking a few more steps, Wang Qiang suddenly pointed to a low house and warned, "Everyone, look over there, the ironing room!"

Following his finger, Old Lin saw the door of the ironing room, which should have been tightly shut, was wide open.

This was undoubtedly an extrely unscientific situation because anyone who survived in the factory would know that the ironing room stored the living water essential for the entire factory's survival.

So according to regulations, its wooden door shouldn't be wide open and unattended as it was now.

With Wei Yang's personality, she would never make such a low-level mistake, so the only possible reason for this situation could be...

Old Lin furrowed his brows and tightened his fists, then once more scrutinized the area around the wooden door. Sure enough, he quickly discovered that the damage to this door was similar to the factory's main gate, caused by external force.

This inevitably deepened his worries!!

Instinctively, he flashed a warning look at Dazhuang, indicating for the latter to be more vigilant.

Wei Dazhuang understood the aning of Old Lin's look, though he understood, he didn't act accordingly because everything happening at the factory had already exceeded his tolerance limit.

After all, to others, "Zhongkun Textile" might be just an ordinary refuge from danger, but to Dazhuang, this was his irreplaceable ho in the apocalypse.

Now, watching his ho being destroyed and his family disappearing, how could he, an iron-blooded man who had already experienced one personal catastrophe, bear this blow again?

Without any warning or communication, Wei Dazhuang rushed into the ironing room alone.

Good grief, his rush startled Lin Junfu.

They were completely unaware of what had actually happened in the factory.

That is to say, every place in the factory could potentially be hiding dangers.

So barrelling in recklessly like Dazhuang was not only dangerous but also rash.

At a loss, in order to prevent Dazhuang from putting himself in peril due to unnecessary recklessness, Old Lin had no choice but to call Wang Qiang and, despite his reluctance, followed behind.

Inside the room, Dazhuang's strong figure blocked the front, forcing the clueless Old Lin and Wang Qiang to squeeze in along the wall.

Once inside, even they were stunned, frozen in place.

In their sight, the Water Storage Tank for collecting rainwater was completely ruined, and from the water traces flowing out and soaking the ground, Old Lin judged that the tank had been destroyed at least ten hours ago.

Because with the current weather conditions, it would be impossible to evaporate the water from such a cool and ventilated room within just a few hours to reach this state.

From this, it seed that the factory was not attacked today, Old Lin deduced silently. And just as he was pondering, Dazhuang suddenly raised his axe and walked out as if possessed.

Fortunately, Wang Qiang reacted quickly, reaching out to restrain Dazhuang's arm, otherwise…

"Dazhuang, what are you doing!?"

"Let go of !!" Dazhuang waved his hand to break Wang Qiang's grip, but Wang Qiang, already prepared, wouldn't let him get his way.

However, even so, under Dazhuang's strong swing, Wang Qiang stumbled, falling under the door panel.

Good grief, Wang Qiang also tasted the consequences of impulsive anger.

"Calm down!! Dazhuang!!"

Seeing Dazhuang about to lose control, Lin Junfu angrily shouted in a panic: "Do you know what you're doing? Do you think this will solve the problem? Do you understand the possible consequences?"

These three impactful rhetorical questions caused a noticeable shift in Dazhuang's emotions.

Seeing this, Old Lin knew his reprimand had an effect, and imdiately softened his tone, advising, "Dazhuang, I understand you're worried about the people in the factory, but rushing in recklessly like this not only won't save their lives but might also cost your own. If we all end up losing, who will save them?"

These words left Dazhuang speechless, though his heart was still restless and uneasy, it was clearly a major improvent over earlier: "So, what should we do now?"

Quietly exhaling a breath, hearing Dazhuang relent, Old Zhao's tense heart finally relaxed a bit.

After all, if Dazhuang's strong body went berserk, it wouldn't be easy for him and Wang Qiang to subdue him.

What to do? With Dazhuang's question, Old Lin furrowed his brows in thought. After a mont, he slowly lifted his head and spoke three words: "Go! Back!"

"Back?" Not only Dazhuang but even Wang Qiang, who was on guard nearby, widened his eyes.

He glanced at Old Lin in disbelief and said:

"Old Lin, you're not joking, are you? We've done nothing, and now we're just going... back?"

It seed that his previous words were a bit abrupt, Old Lin realized his oversight, knowing the two in front of him were not as easily convinced as Tang Xiaoquan.

And if these two started a rebellion, it would be a big ss.

So, after a brief sorting, Old Lin spoke again: "Now that we've roughly figured out the situation outside, before we proceed with further investigation, it's best to communicate with the remaining brothers. That way, if sothing happens to us, they won't be left in the dark, waiting without direction."

After speaking, without giving Wang and Wei much ti to consider, Old Lin pushed and pulled them out the door.
