Considering Dazhuang's actual condition, Wu Chao and Ah Cheng took up the task of keeping watch at the iron gate.

The remaining survivors all gathered on the first floor of the main factory building, discussing the future direction of the team's actions.

"So, Xiao Wei, please tell us what exactly happened in the factory." Old Zhao looked at Wei Yang, a hint of apology in his eyes.

After all, he's been through similar experiences; he knows well the reaction one can have after suffering a trendous shock.

He also understands how cruel and impolite it is to make such a request of Wei Yang at this ti.

Yet, in the end tis, for the sake of survival, many things have to be done, even if you know they're impossible.

This is the way of the apocalypse! This is the way of survival!

Sure enough, after hearing Old Lin's question, Wei Yang's recently cald expression turned heavy once more.

However, after witnessing the tragic death of her father firsthand, Wei Yang's heart has undoubtedly matured a lot.

At the very least, she won't be so sentintally inclined as she was in the past. Although she still fears the slaughter of death, she now has the courage and strength to face everything.

After a brief mont to gather her thoughts, Wei Yang instinctively clenched her hands tightly together.

Seeing her do this, Tang Xiaoquan imdiately understood that the mont of inner struggle had arrived for her.

The whole room was silent; everyone kept their lips tight, with no one urging or disturbing her. They just sat quietly around Wei Yang, waiting for her to recount everything that happened in the factory area.

Tang Xiaoquan naturally felt a bit of heartache. If he could, he truly wouldn't want the girl in front of him to return to the "scene" of the disaster.

But at this point, he also understood that only by figuring out what happened in the factory could the team decide on their next steps.

This was quite a painful decision. To be blunt, Tang Xiaoquan's hesitations were hardly less than Wei Yang's, if not more intense.

Ti passed slowly in this oppressive atmosphere, with the stifling air causing sweat to unconsciously trickle down every survivor's face.

After about three minutes of silence, Wei Yang finally raised her head slowly.

"The source of the trouble was yesterday, close to noon; according to the schedule, you should have contacted us around an hour after leaving the base, but..."

Her voice trailed off as Wei Yang glanced at Old Lin, then shook her head.

Clearly, Wei Yang did not know that their team was caught in the "vortex" set by Lu Rui at the ti and was entirely unable to contact them.

However, Old Lin didn't want to explain this situation to Wei Yang at this critical mont. After all, she had just managed to adjust her mood, and interrupting her now would not only waste ti but also force Wei Yang to readjust herself.

Therefore, after weighing the situation, Old Lin chose to remain silent.

"Due to not receiving your scheduled signal, Factory Manager Wang and Brother Daguo were extrely anxious. Both of them were guarding the door, debating for a long ti about whether to proactively contact you."

"In the end, Factory Manager Wang, unable to put his mind at ease, decided to contact you, but..."

Her voice halted again, and Wei Yang inexplicably let out a sigh.

"I guess they didn't get in touch," Wang Qiang interjected in a tily manner, thinking he understood the purpose of Wei Yang's sigh at the end of her sentence. But unexpectedly, she imdiately refuted his assumption without any hesitation.

"No! Old Wang contacted you!"

"What!" At these words, not only Wang Qiang but even the usually silent Tang Xiaoquan involuntarily exclaid: "Xiao Wei, are you saying Old Wang contacted us?"

"Yes!" Nodding with certainty, Wei Yang's face was sowhat gloomy.

"Damn it!!" Upon receiving Wei Yang's definitive answer, Wang Qiang slamd his palm against his thigh and coldly uttered two words through gritted teeth: "Lu Rui!!"

"Lu Rui!?" This ti, it was Wei Yang's turn to be startled. He, unaware of their team's encounter, asked, slightly puzzled: "How do you know this person?"

"Hmph!" Wang Qiang snorted disdainfully, then said harshly: "That thing can be considered a person? He's not even as good as a beast!"

Although his answer was beside the point, it sowhat enlightened Wei Yang about so things through Wang Qiang's violent tone.

But before he could confirm this, Old Lin interrupted, shifting the topic: "So what happened next after you got in touch with Lu Rui?"

Refocusing on the topic, Wei Yang adjusted slightly and continued: "After getting connected, the other party claid to have encountered you on the road, saying you were attacked by zombies and that they saved Brother Hu."

Nodding to herself, Old Lin inwardly thought how Lu Rui's group reacted swiftly, showing that this wasn't their first ti deceiving others with such a sche.

"Although Factory Manager Wang expressed doubts when they saved him and demanded to speak directly with Brother Hu, the other party, using the excuse that Brother Hu was injured, found soone to prevaricate the issue."

"And due to his eagerness to save people, Factory Manager Wang didn't think twice and honestly disclosed the factory address to them. As for what happened next..."

Pressing her lips together, Wei Yang's expression grew even more tense: "They drove directly into the factory. At the ti, I was on the second floor preparing for Brother Hu's surgery, so I wasn't entirely aware of the situation outside the gate."

"By the ti I could react, that gang of bandits had already forced Brother Daguo into the factory building."

"After that, they gathered the won in one place, and... and those beasts... actually..."

At this point, Wei Yang's body trembled fiercely, and her eyes seed like they were about to shoot flas.

"And then what happened?" Understanding exactly how the won were treated, Old Lin grasped why Wei Yang was so agitated. So he promptly interrupted, changing the line of inquiry: "Afterward, why was Old Wang killed?"

Undoubtedly, this was Lin Junfu's most pressing question, and when he posed it, Old Lin's eyes beca sharp.

Wei Yang stood silent for a mont, which was understandable. Anyone who experienced the above 'scar that can't be borne' would find it hard to maintain their composure.

The survivors understood this as well, inwardly drenched in cold sweat for Wei Yang's sake, knowing that recounting such cruel experiences verbally would be an enormous ntal ordeal.

However, Wei Yang was not a sheltered flower in a greenhouse; using her own vow, she assured:

"No matter how arduous the road ahead, I, Wei Yang, will go through it bravely, fulfilling my father's expectations, even if it ans climbing mountains of swords or plunging into seas of flas!!"
