Now reading: Chapter 79: Simple Moat (Part 3) from Rotting Land: Survive, a Sci-fi novel by Kiwi 008.

This is undoubtedly a huge test of a person’s endurance. First, you must be able to conquer fear and maintain rationality. Secondly, you need to find a way to survive under imnse pressure, and Wang Qiang obviously lacks such ability at this mont.

Sweat perates from every pore on his body as adrenaline surges, and the rapidly plunging corpse’s head leaves his mind blank, bewildered and at a loss.

Fearful? To be honest, Wang Qiang doesn’t feel fear at this mont, not because he is bold or has strong ntal resilience. On the contrary, he is so overwheld with fear that he montarily forgets the sensation of fear.

The urgent cries of his brothers seem to diminish at his ears, as Wang Qiang’s sense of his own body begins to fade.

Instinctively, he raises his hand, attempting to choke the zombie’s neck as it falls, yet the misaligned distance between them allows him only to reach and grasp so stray tufts of hair on the opponent’s head.

Right then, a huge force emanates from his palm, pulling his struggling forearm downward with the corpse’s head.

Death cos swiftly, seemingly unavoidable.

However, Wang Qiang persists. Driven by an intense desire to survive, he makes his final struggles.

His right hand fumbles desperately on the ground, hoping to find any weapon that could help him annihilate the enemy, but reality is cruel.

Other than touching a bit of filthy, sticky liquid, all he finds is the cold chill of the tile surface.

Undoubtedly, this isn’t the first ti that Wang Qiang faces such a life-or-death mont, yet the atmosphere of imminent death still causes him to tremble uncontrollably.

This is a peculiar matter, hard to explain with words.

Because Wang Qiang doesn’t feel any fear, but every inch of his skin, blood vessels, and even cells exhibit the extremities of fear.

Perhaps his determination to never give up in the face of death moves the heavens, for just as the zombie’s sharp teeth stained with waxy liquid are about to touch his groin, a bright spot flickers past under the sun’s rays.

The spot vanishes quickly, yet Wang Qiang sees it clearly. It’s like a beacon in the night, bringing him a final glimr of hope.

Without hesitation, Wang Qiang decisively raises his left hand, and the trendous force directly peels off a large chunk of the zombie’s head skin.

Riding on the ti gained by this force, Wang Qiang’s right hand doesn’t pause and promptly pulls out the hairdresser’s scissors that Tang Xiaoquan had ordered each of them to carry, then, with all his might, he stabs towards the zombie’s temple.

"Ah!" A roar bursting with Wang Qiang’s strong survival will detonates in the room’s air.

The scissors slowly penetrate into the zombie’s brain, emitting a subtle cutting sound, and clumps of viscous material mixed with black blood slowly ooze along the scissor’s handle.

The sound falls, and energy is exhausted, power flees!

With Wang Qiang’s right hand falling feebly, the zombie finally gets its wish and collapses onto him, but this ti it can no longer raise its head.

Tang Xiaoquan doesn’t see Wang Qiang’s powerful strike on the zombie; as he turns to look at his brother, the latter is already laying face-up, motionless.

His eyes swiftly widen and enlarge, with scarlet red spreading across the whites.

"Qiangzi!" Frantically holding the Long Spear across his chest, Tang Xiaoquan used all his strength to shove it out horizontally. Under his reckless attack, almost the entire row of zombies closest to him is pushed down onto the ground.

Ignoring the subsequent zombies coming in, Tang Xiaoquan throws the Long Spear heavily and then turns to sprint toward Wang Qiang.

"Qiangzi! Qiangzi!" Tears mixed with sweat, the clueless Tang Xiaoquan kicks away the zombie lying on Wang Qiang and lifts his brother’s shoulders, frantically dragging him to a safe place behind.

But the room is only so big, and there are so many zombies, relying solely on Tang Xiaoquan, where can he drag Wang Qiang to?

Seeing such a scene, both Wen Quanxin and Wu Chao glance at each other.

At this mont, the pressure they face is indeed not small, but still...

Almost instinctively raising the weapons in their hands, neither Wen nor Wu spoke a word, yet both stood in front of Tang Xiaoquan and Wang Qiang.

Humans sotis are such contradictory beings, clearly terrified to death in their hearts, yet they often exhibit an extraordinary fearlessness.

This may be what is called "sacrificing oneself for justice."

Nevertheless, for the four survivors at the mont, they clearly have no mood to discuss this boring philosophical issue.

"Qiangzi! Qiangzi!" Tang Xiaoquan continues to shout, his large hands shaking Wang Qiang’s body repeatedly like a sifter, making the latter dizzy and unsteady.

Due to excessive tension and fear, plus the earlier life-risking struggle, Wang Qiang is now severely exhausted.

"Hey, Qiangzi, you’re fine, believe , you’re definitely fine!"

Tang Xiaoquan, while speaking the confused words, shifts his gaze to Wang Qiang’s abdon because that’s where the corpse’s head fell earlier.

"Cough, cough~" With a clear cough, Wang Qiang forces a smile. His brother’s actions move him deeply, yet the current situation leaves him no ti to express gratitude.

"I, I’m okay, just a bit exhausted. You, quickly help up."

Upon hearing this, Tang Xiaoquan first freezes, then when his eyes spot the silver scissors embedded in the zombie’s temple, he finally cos to realization, then smiles and lifts Wang Qiang up.

Wen Quanxin and Wu Chao struggle to defend against the attacking zombies. Lacking support from Wang Qiang and Tang Xiaoquan, their defense becos more monts. Although each counterattack still manages to eliminate a zombie, facing the relentless influx of zombies, they still...

"Little Wu, Little Wen, retreat, quick retreat!" With Wang Qiang unhard, Tang Xiaoquan’s chaotic mind returns to normal.

Clearly, if they continue to stand off with the zombies, not only will they fail to hold the door, but they will also face the danger of being surrounded.

So retreating is their only option.

Kicking over the prepared bottle of lotion, Tang Xiaoquan first supports Wang Qiang and retreats into the hair-washing room.

And following their safe entry, Wu Chao and Wen Quanxin also follow suit and rush inside.
