The Flood Catastrophe (2)
Arthur moved together with the little girl, and they entered the ruined building.
"Ah… finally, they've co. Didn't I tell you they'd attack us?"
"And why do you sound happy about that?"
Arthur suddenly stopped.
Those voices… he knew them well.
He and the girl stepped further inside.
"Dokja? What are you doing here?"
Kim Dokja lifted his head in shock.
"Arthur? Where the hell were you, you bastard?"
Arthur scratched the back of his head lightly, looking tired.
"I was looking for the kid, Yi."
"You idiot… Yi Sun and Lee Gilyoung are safe. Why didn't you tell you went out to look for them?"
Arthur froze for a second, then let out a clear breath of relief.
"So they're safe… that's good.
Ah, right… this girl wants to thank you."
"Who?"
Before Kim Dokja could finish his question, the girl stepped out from behind Arthur.
She was small, with soft golden hair and innocent features that didn't belong in such a cruel world.
She smiled shyly and extended her hands.
"I brought so…"
She was holding simple blankets.
Yoo Sangah smiled and gently took them from her.
"Thank you, little one. Do you want to stay with us tonight?"
"Oh… no, thank you."
The girl turned to leave.
At that mont—
A large knife shot through the air, heading straight for her.
Arthur moved instantly.
He caught the knife with his bare hand before it could reach her.
He turned coldly toward its source.
It was Han Sooyoung.
Yoo Sangah's anger flared imdiately.
"What are you trying to do?!"
Han Sooyoung sighed in irritation, then looked at Kim Dokja.
"You know what needs to be done, right? Are you going to play the hypocrite just because she's a child? Fine… then I'll play the villain."
She pulled out another knife and began walking toward the girl.
Yoo Sangah stepped in front of her.
"Wait… do you really want to kill an innocent child?!"
Han Sooyoung laughed bitterly.
"Innocent child? My ass.
Dokja, explain before I lose my patience and kill both of them."
Cold sweat gathered on Kim Dokja's forehead.
Worry and helplessness were clear on his face.
"Five days from now… this girl will destroy Seoul."
Silence fell.
No one spoke.
Even Arthur… found no words.
{Many constellations are interested in the developnt of the scenario}
"This girl… is the catastrophe of the fifth scenario."
"What are you saying?!"
Before Yoo Sangah could finish, Han Sooyoung lunged toward the girl's neck.
No one noticed the avatar behind her—
Han Sooyoung's avatar.
Arthur sighed quietly.
He stepped forward, embraced the child, and took the knife with his own body.
Of course, it barely hard him. Han Sooyoung hadn't used her full strength.
"Han Sooyoung, stop."
His voice was steady, firm.
"Let's see what happens.
If what Kim Dokja says is true… then I'll make my own decision.
But if there's a way that doesn't involve killing a child… I'll take it without hesitation.
So, let's hear him out."
Han Sooyoung bit her lip in frustration, then turned and left the building.
Arthur looked at Kim Dokja.
"Explain."
He then looked at the girl.
She was trembling, frightened by everything happening around her.
He raised his fingers and gently pressed the sleep points in her body.
Shin Yoosung fell into a deep sleep.
Arthur, Kim Dokja, and Yoo Sangah sat to the side.
Kim Dokja began explaining, in the simplest way possible—
how the future version of Shin Yoosung was the real catastrophe,
and how she would beco the most dangerous and horrifying disaster to co.
Arthur and Yoo Sangah didn't ask how Kim Dokja knew all this.
They accepted it… and that was that.
---
The next morning arrived.
Han Sooyoung returned and looked around.
Shin Yoosung… was still alive.
She looked at Arthur, then at Kim Dokja.
"Let's just kill her and be done with it. Isn't it that simple?
Kill the person in the past, and their future self disappears."
"Not necessarily."
She turned to him sharply.
"And what do you an, not necessarily, Arthur?"
He sighed, then spoke calmly:
"Alright, listen.
Let's assu this is the first tiline… the present we're living in now.
If we kill Shin Yoosung in the present—
the version that represents the past of the catastrophe that will appear in five days—
What do you think will happen?
Will the future Shin Yoosung disappear?"
He paused for a mont, then continued:
"There's a small chance she might disappear…
but for that to happen, an entire tiline would need to be erased.
And that doesn't happen instantly.
For the present tiline to catch up with the future,
it must pass through the cycles of ti and the laws of ti.
And the cycles of ti…
and the laws of ti…
are not sothing anyone can control.
They move naturally, automatically.
The present might not catch up to the future in ti.
Or the future might beco an empty tiline, without a beginning or an end.
Or worse—
killing her might be the very trigger that awakens the catastrophe earlier,
just like what happened with the Catastrophe of Questions…
and the Hell Catastrophe, the small dragon Agniel.
Because of the interference of ti cycles,
the catastrophe might awaken early…
and destroy everything.
There's a chance the present catches up to the future and ends it.
And there's a chance the present gets destroyed before it ever reaches it.
And if the present tiline collapses before catching up—
a temporal collapse will occur.
The laws will break,
one of the cycles of ti will shatter,
and tilines everywhere will collapse.
And the result…
everyone dies."
He stopped, then added in a lower voice:
"And that… is just one possibility."
Arthur finished his theory about ti and tilines, and with his final words, a heavy silence settled over the place.
It wasn't just human silence—
it was the silence of the constellations as well.
Even those eyes that usually mocked or comnted arrogantly
remained still this ti, watching without a breath.
Everyone was trying to process the overwhelming amount of information Arthur had just revealed—
concepts beyond instinctive understanding,
touching laws no human should easily ddle with.
Arthur looked around calmly.
Kim Dokja, Yoo Sangah, and Han Sooyoung…
were staring at him without saying a word,
their gazes a mix of shock, confusion, and suspicion.
Han Sooyoung finally broke the silence, her voice strange—half joking, half unable to believe:
"Arthur… tell honestly,
were you a physics teacher in your past life or sothing?"
A calm smile appeared on Arthur's face.
A smile free of arrogance,
as if what he said wasn't anything remarkable.
"It's not like I'd rember a past life… if one even existed."
Then he continued in a steady tone:
"But this is what I understand now.
This is what I've concluded through my own mind and experience.
The real question isn't who I am…
but what you're going to do now.
Will you risk everything and kill her?
Or do you have another plan, Dokja?"
At that mont—
A blue window appeared before Arthur's eyes.
A window that made his heart stop for a fraction of a second…
then pound harder than it had in a long ti.
Congratulations, Host. You have made progress in the Law of Ti
Law of Ti: 5%
Law of Space: 0%
Law of Dinsion: 0%
Arthur's eyes widened slightly.
The Law of Ti…
one of the fundantal laws,
one of the key elents he needed to restore his original body.
This progress wasn't the result of training or combat—
but understanding.
Explanation…
analysis…
and grasping the relationships between cause and effect across tilines.
A deeper smile ford on his face—
one he couldn't hide this ti.
A pure, silent, but profound joy.
"One step…"
He murmured inwardly.
"One step closer…
to reclaiming my true body."
