The Constellation Banquet (4)

{The Festival of Blood.}

It was the supre story of the Olympus nebula.

The story of the Supre King… Ataronos.

Ataronos was one of the oldest rulers, and the second strongest constellation in Olympus. He possessed an unyielding personality, an unbreakable will, and a destructive spirit capable of crushing worlds. Yet at the sa ti, he was the gentlest among them—rciful in a way that stood in stark contrast to his absolute power.

Millions of years passed, and after Olympus was established and had grown in strength, its leaders decided to launch a full campaign against humanity… to annihilate them and erase their existence from the roots.

But Ataronos refused.

Because of his status, and the respect everyone held for him as the second strongest constellation, no one dared oppose him openly. However, the oldest ruler… Ataronos's own father, did not accept this refusal.

{Why should I listen to the words of a foolish child like you? And why should we not attack weak creatures like humans?}

Those were his words.

In secret, and without Ataronos's knowledge, Lanmok—the oldest and strongest constellation in Olympus—led an army of ten thousand soldiers and descended upon the earth.

Blood was spilled, destruction spread, and civilizations were annihilated without rcy or distinction.

When Ataronos discovered what his father had done… he lost his sanity.

He charged forward with a spirit blazing with vengeance, having lost all restraint.

Ataronos was not gentle because he was inherently kind, but because his heart had been tied to a single human. A woman he had loved in his long life—the only one he had ever truly respected.

For her sake, he had never once approached the earth.

But when he learned of what his father had done… everything shattered.

And when Lanmok returned from his massacre, he faced a sight he had never imagined.

Olympus… was in ruins.

The constellations, the nebula, the glory—everything had been crushed into nothingness.

A single monster had done it.

A monster born of hatred, vengeance, and loathing.

{Ataronos… you wretched child, what have you done to your holand?}

{Ah… Father, you're here.}

With those cold words—colder than the harshest ice—the battle between father and son began.

A legendary battle that shook the entire world.

After an unimaginable, blood-soaked fight…

Ataronos was defeated.

But Lanmok… later died from his fatal wounds.

That event was recorded in the Star Stream as:

The Festival of Blood.

---

Now… inside the Room of Secrets.

"Why are you offering this story?"

{Because the Three Sisters of Fate have taken a look at your destiny.}

"What?"

{You are qualified enough to inherit the story of the Festival of Blood.

Think about it.}

Oedipus did not wait for a response.

He left the room imdiately, leaving Arthur drowning in confusion.

Thoughts began to collide violently within Arthur's mind. He tried to find an explanation—a single thread of logic… but everything suddenly collapsed.

And then a single voice, soft and low, pierced the silence.

{Hello, Arthur.}

Arthur raised his head.

Before him stood an angel of unreasonable beauty, her features carrying a strange contradiction… resembling a little devil as much as she resembled an angel.

It was Eden's turn.

"I thought the Writer of Heaven would co… but it seems I was wrong."

{Are you displeased by my arrival?}

Arthur smiled at her gentle tone.

"No… I'm pleased to see you, Demon-like Ruler of Fire."

{You can call Uriel.

I've wanted to see you, Arthur.}

Before he could even process what was happening, Uriel pulled him closer and hugged him tightly.

Their arms touched.

Arthur felt the warmth of her skin through the silk she wore.

A soft… beautiful sensation that completely unsettled him.

He didn't know what to do.

Uriel was one of the first constellations who had been with him since the beginning of the scenarios. Since the subway… she had been there.

At that mont, he felt as though he had known her for a very long ti.

He breathed slowly and surrendered to the mont.

"I'm… glad to see you too, Uriel."

{Yes, yes!}

Her gentle voice was sothing he was not used to hearing.

Arthur took a deep breath.

"You're here to offer the story of the ssiah, aren't you?"

{Oh… yes, that's right.}

Uriel pulled away suddenly, as if she had forgotten for a mont.

She smiled softly.

{It must be because you're very handso.}

Arthur smiled, then placed a hand on his forehead.

"I've heard that a lot."

{Why do you hate your appearance?}

Arthur's expression shifted to slight surprise, then he smiled calmly and waved his hand as if it were nothing.

"I don't hate my appearance… I mourn its magnificent beauty."

Uriel burst into laughter, a light and enchanting laugh.

{Then, Arthur… will you accept Eden's story?}

"That… I need ti to think."

{Why? Our story is the best among all nebulae!}

Arthur took a deep breath, looked at her, then at his own body.

"But… I'll lose sothing important if I accept your story."

Uriel wore a foolish expression for a mont.

{Oh… right!

If you take the story of the ssiah… you'll beco castrated—}

She froze.

{No, no, no! That can't happen! Impossible!}

"Haaah?!"

This ti…

it was Arthur's turn to wear that sa foolish expression.

Arthur had never expected Uriel to agree with him so easily.

He thought she would try to persuade him, or bargain, or give him a long speech about Eden's glory and the importance of the story… but she did none of that.

On the contrary.

She was completely against it.

{What should I do then? If I don't bring Arthur to tatron, I won't be allowed to use the internet for a whole month…}

Her voice paused for a mont, then continued in complete horror:

{And if I bring Arthur… he'll beco castrated. And when that happens—}

She froze.

{…Wait.

Maybe everything could work if the location changes.}

With those words, Arthur felt a chill run through him unlike anything he had ever experienced.

For the first ti in his life…

he felt genuine fear.

A deep, absolute shiver surged through his body, as though sothing primal within him was screaming a warning.

All his instincts told him one thing:

Run.

"What… what do you an by changing the location?"

he asked cautiously, watching Uriel as though she had suddenly turned into sothing strange and dangerous.

Uriel smiled—a gentle, shy smile… but it did not reassure him at all.

{No, no… the location can never be changed.}

Then she added in a calm tone, as if to comfort him:

{Don't worry, Arthur, you won't beco castrated.}

That was not reassuring at all.

Uriel left the room after that, leaving behind a heavy atmosphere.

Afterward, a stream of constellations began entering the Room of Secrets.

Constellations from different nebulae, independent constellations, even high-grade constellations from the Korean Peninsula.

They spoke with Arthur one after another—encouraging him, praising him, and warning him at the sa ti.

Strangely, most of them did not want Arthur to join any nebula.

They wanted him… free.

The hour allocated for the Room of Secrets passed, and ti finally ran out.

All the incarnations returned to the main hall.

Selena Kim stepped onto the platform, and the dokkaebi announced in an official voice:

{Selena Kim has inherited the story "The Unbreakable Shield" from the Olympus nebula.}

Arthur noticed Kim Dokja clutching his head, lost in thought, trying to find so kind of solution.

After so ti…

It was Arthur's turn.

He stepped onto the platform.

Before he could utter a single word,

all the constellations swallowed nervously.

The place fell completely silent, as if the entire hall was holding its breath, waiting for the grand announcent:

Which nebula would Arthur choose?

Arthur smiled calmly.

Then he looked at Kim Dokja… and pointed at him.

Then he pointed at Yoo Joonghyuk.

At that mont, Kim Dokja understood what was going on in Arthur's mind.

He smiled slyly and pulled Yoo Joonghyuk to stand beside Arthur.

The three stood together.

Arthur smiled as he looked at the constellations around him, then spoke in a clear, steady voice:

"Ahem… ahem. Dear constellations, the three of us have sothing important to announce."

The constellations watched them in anticipation, ready for any shock.

Then Arthur said, without hesitation:

"We… will not inherit your stories."

A deadly silence fell over the hall.

All gazes froze, gathering on Arthur.

Yoo Joonghyuk looked at him with an expression of disbelief—a mix of shock and confusion—

while Kim Dokja smiled calmly, as if he had been waiting for this very mont.

Arthur continued, his tone unwavering:

"We… will buy your stories."

The atmosphere trembled.

"If you wish to sell your stories to … to Kim Dokja… and to Yoo Joonghyuk—"

He paused for a mont, then continued:

"Then I ask you to make a deal… with our nebula."
