Drum Island (2)
The crew dropped everything they were holding and rushed toward Nami's room.
Just as Sanji had said, and for so reason none of them could understand, her condition seed to be worsening instead of improving.
The fever had intensified, her body temperature rising to an alarming level, and her breaths had beco uneven and heavy.
Worry gnawed rcilessly at everyone's hearts.
"The Heavenly Shop…"
Arthur imdiately opened the Heavenly Shop and entered the potion section.
He began searching relentlessly, skipping past everything—type, level, none of it mattered. All he wanted was any potion that could keep Nami alive.
He searched… and searched even more.
Until he found a simple healing potion with limited effect:
it eased pain and reduced the severity of illness by thirty percent.
It wasn't a miraculous potion that could cure the illness from its roots,
but at the very least, it would give Nami ti… precious ti.
Arthur didn't even look at the price.
He pressed purchase imdiately.
2000 points.
The potion arrived in the storage.
He took the small vial, gently moved his companions aside, and approached Nami.
He opened the vial and began pouring the liquid into her mouth calmly and steadily.
Nami's body was flushed from the intensity of the fever, her temperature almost burning to the touch.
Her chest rose and fell at an unnatural speed, as if her lungs could barely contain the air they were struggling to draw in.
Arthur emptied the vial completely.
Then he stepped back.
Silence fell.
A suffocating anticipation.
After a few seconds…
Nami's body began to calm.
The heat gradually subsided, and her breathing beca slower and more regular.
The crew smiled, believing Arthur had perford another miracle.
But his voice ca calmly, realistically, shattering that illusion:
"This isn't a miraculous healing potion, just an ordinary one…
You can consider it nothing more than a sedative.
We need to hurry and find a doctor who can examine Nami, discover the cause of the illness, and treat it, or…"
He didn't finish the sentence.
Because everyone already knew the ending if they were too late.
Nami would die.
---
The crew sailed at the greatest speed possible.
Two full days of harsh sailing passed before Drum Island finally appeared before them.
A winter island where sumr had never set foot.
Its na was no exaggeration;
giant mountains rose like towering stone drums,
and snow fell endlessly, as if the sky knew only white.
The cold began to creep into the crew's bodies.
Everyone put on their heavy winter clothing…
Except Arthur.
His body radiated a natural warmth.
A man of hot blood;
even if he stood nearly naked amid the ice, his body would never feel the cold.
He wore his usual attire:
a black n's kimono, a black shirt, and cloth trousers.
His hair was tied back,
and his right arm remained outside the kimono as usual.
As the ship approached the island,
Arthur shouted for everyone to co out.
The crew stepped outside to examine the place, their eyes filled with caution and curiosity.
But at that very mont…
Arthur, Zoro, and Luffy all felt the sa thing.
They were being watched.
Arthur turned toward the snowy ridge ahead of them.
He saw n standing there, heavily ard, their rifles aid directly at the crew.
Usopp stepped back in terror and hid behind Zoro.
anwhile, Sanji imdiately entered Nami's room, leaving the confrontation to Arthur, Zoro, and Luffy.
Luffy stepped forward and spoke with sincere calm:
"Hello… we're looking for a doctor.
Our companion is seriously injured, and her life is in danger.
Is there a doctor here?"
He didn't finish his sentence.
One of the n suddenly raised his weapon.
He aid it—not at Luffy,
but at Vivi, who had stepped back.
And fired.
In a mont of distraction,
no one noticed what happened.
Not even Arthur…
who had lowered his guard just slightly because his focus was on the n ahead.
Only a fraction of a second.
He sensed the danger.
He dashed toward Vivi at his maximum speed.
But…
It was too late.
The bullet pierced Vivi's chest with brutal force.
A shattering silence fell.
Drops of blood fell from her chest and from her mouth,
her eyes still unable to comprehend what had just happened.
Then…
She collapsed to the ground.
Arthur caught her quickly.
He checked her pulse…
It was weakening gradually.
Everyone shouted her na.
But there was no response.
She had lost consciousness.
Without hesitation, Arthur bought another simple healing potion,
opened the vial, and imdiately poured it into her mouth,
just to keep her alive for a little while longer.
The bleeding slowly stopped.
Her heart began beating again… barely.
Arthur lifted her body and raised his head.
Sanji was staring at them—
worry, rage, and a fire that seed ready to devour him from within.
He wanted to leap at the n and tear them apart alive.
But Arthur stopped him,
and silently handed Vivi over to him.
Sanji took her body and hurried into Nami's room.
Usopp followed.
Outside remained…
Only the furious ones.
Luffy.
Zoro.
And Arthur.
Three restrained beasts.
The n laughed mockingly.
"You filthy pirates!
Do you think we'll believe that trick about soone being injured?"
"It's an obvious ploy…
You want to enter our island and loot it."
"Leave now,
or the next bullet will be in all your heads."
Arthur slowly raised his head.
He looked at the man in front of him.
And before anyone could move…
The aura of death erupted.
A dark, crushing aura
pressed down upon both bodies and air alike.
The ship trembled beneath their feet,
and everyone felt small… weak…
as if they were standing before an absolute ruler.
Arthur pressed his foot against the ground—
and shot high into the sky.
