Moon paid the modest portal entrance fee and entered the sanctuary, preparing to travel toward his next destination—the Jeju Swamps.
From his current position, the Jeju Swamps represented the closest viable hunting ground, approximately half a day's travel away.
Inside the base, Moon's attention was caught by a rchant selling so of the finest mounts available in the First Sanctuary—Direhorses.
Moon's thoughts imdiately returned to Mirage, currently resting in his Beast Taming Space. After a quick ntal check on their connection, his companion was still deeply asleep, processing the trendous energy he'd absorbed from consuming the Supre creature's remains.
With no alternative for transportation, Moon approached the rchant's stall.
Spotting a potential custor of obvious ans, the rchant imdiately brightened with a sales smile.
"Ah, distinguished sir! You have an excellent eye for quality!" the rchant began enthusiastically. "These Direhorses represent the absolute pinnacle of mounted transportation in the First Sanctuary! Swift as the wind, strong as steel, intelligent enough to anticipate your needs before you voice them!"
He gestured dramatically toward his prize specins.
"No other mount can match their endurance across difficult terrain, their intuitive understanding of combat situations, or their loyalty to skilled riders. Why, I've had custors tell these magnificent beasts practically read their minds!"
Moon listened to the sales pitch with amusent, recognizing the exaggerated claims for what they were. The Direhorses were indeed excellent mounts—among the best comrcially available—but they certainly weren't the absolute pinnacle the rchant claid.
After all, the actual best mount was currently sleeping in his Beast Taming Space.
"What's your price for a high-level specin?" Moon asked directly.
"For soone of your obvious discernnt, sir, I can offer this exceptional beast for the reasonable price of $200,000. A bargain considering its capabilities!"
The price was actually fair for a high-level Direhorse, though Moon could have found cheaper alternatives with so searching. However, ti was currently more valuable than the few thousand dollars he might save through comparison shopping.
Moon paid the requested amount and mounted the Direhorse for the journey toward the Jeju Swamps.
The difference between this mount and Mirage beca imdiately obvious during their travel. The ride comfort, the creature's speed and agility, its intuitive understanding of his intentions—everything was several levels inferior to his companion's.
Rather than feeling disappointed, the comparison made Moon appreciate Mirage even more than he already did.
His loyal partner was truly exceptional in ways that money simply couldn't purchase.
The journey continued toward the swamps.
Half a day later, the sun began to slowly set as darkness began to take over. Moon did not rest or find a cave to spend the remainder of the ti until the sun was back again, but rather he simply activated his lighting rune and pushed forward like a beacon in the dark night.
Monsters—like flies—were attracted to the source of light that ended up with their demise, becoming corpses that were stored in storage rings to sell once more.
Eventually, Moon finally arrived at his destination, he could instantly tell.
"This is the Jeju Swamps…as disgusting as I expected."
