Now reading: Chapter 309 The Second Sanctuary from SSS Awakening: I Can Class Change at will, a Game novel by Risaliyah.

After enduring an insufferable number of injuries from his defiant battle against every established order he'd been taught since he was young, Alaric's battered body was finally expelled from the River of Paths and returned to the chamber where he'd begun his journey.

Emma, who had long since completed her own run through the river, had been anxiously awaiting his return. She was very well versed with the danger that Alaric was placing on himself. Creating a new path, a path that went against the established path…it wasn't easy, it was nearly impossible if not so.

'Please return safely…'

Monts later, a bloodied, broken body suddenly appeared in the chamber's center. Emma's eyes widened in horror and fear. "Alaric!" she scread, rushing towards him.

Blood was streaming from his eyes, nose, and mouth—every orifice weeping crimson from the trendous damage he'd received. His hands trembled uncontrollably, and his breathing ca in ragged, shallow gasps.

Emma scooped his broken body into her arms before sprinting from the chamber toward the healer who had been waiting just outside the entrance, prepared for exactly this kind of ergency.

The healer imdiately began her work, channeling her most powerful healing spell. She was no ordinary practitioner—as one of Alaric's personal support team, she ranked among the strongest Surpasser-level healers in the entire Second Sanctuary, with very few peers who could match her capabilities.

Golden light washed over Alaric's body as the healer poured her energy into stabilizing his critical condition. Hour after hour passed as she worked tirelessly to repair the catastrophic damage his rebellion against natural order had inflicted upon his body and soul.

Finally, after an exhausting marathon of healing, the healer collapsed from mana depletion, unable to continue casting without risking her own survival. She had already drank several mana-restoring potions to keep healing him till this very mont.

"This is all I can manage," she gasped, sweat beading on her forehead. "Even one more minute would leave in a mana-deprived state that could prove fatal. His condition has stabilized, but going forward, his body and soul will need to heal naturally, just as they did after his previous attempt."

Emma nodded with grim look on her face, "How long do you estimate his recovery will take this ti?"

The healer remained silent for a long mont, her expression troubled and uncertain.

"Half a year minimum, possibly a full year... I honestly cannot be sure. His injuries are significantly worse than his previous attempt. I don't even understand how he's still breathing. What is he even trying to accomplish?"

Emma's gaze returned to Alaric's unconscious body with a mixture of love and exasperation. "He had always been different from everyone else, always pushing beyond what others thought possible."

The healer nodded wearily, still feeling exhausted, "We should move him to the recovery chamber. While it won't provide miraculous healing, every little bit helps in situations like this."

Emma carefully lifted Alaric's unconscious body in a princess carry, cradling him gently as she prepared to transport him to the specialized facility designed for long-term recuperation inside the Spirit Pavilion.

As she walked, Emma couldn't help but wonder if Alaric's stubborn determination to forge his own path would eventually kill him—or if he might actually succeed in achieving sothing that would change the fundantal rules of power advancent forever.

Either way, she would be there when he awakened, ready to support whatever impossible dream he pursued next.

The price of being different, it seed, was asured in blood, pain, and the unwavering loyalty of those who believed in visions others deed impossible.

In another part of the Second Sanctuary, Sarah and Marcus were engaged in combat with a formidable creature that they had encountered on their expedition outside the base. With the most anticipated tournant approaching fast, they needed to continuing getting stronger in order to have a chance at claiming the top spots.

It wasn't an easy task, but with their powerful classes, and talents, they had a chance to claim the top spots in the tournant, and perhaps…beco champions.

"This is a powerful Wind Lizard, Sarah! I need your buffs and constant support," Marcus called out with excitent, his sword pointed directly at the massive reptilian beast. "If we can bring this one down, we'll gain so decent spirit power from the kill!"

"Understood," Sarah replied with a calm expression on her face, imdiately beginning to channel her support abilities.

The battle between the two evolvers and the reptilian was intense but thodical. The Wind Lizard proved to be a challenging opponent, using its elental affinity to create powerful gusts and razor-sharp wind attacks that kept both fighters on constant alert. Marcus relied on his swordsmanship while Sarah provided crucial buffs to his speed and strength, along with constant healing to counteract the damage from the creature's relentless attacks.

After five minutes of high intensity combat, Marcus found his opening. With Sarah's spells amplifying his capabilities, he delivered a devastating finishing blow that cleanly severed the Wind Lizard's head from its body.

"We did it! We killed an D-rank Wind Lizard!" Marcus exclaid with triumph, his adrenaline still running high from the successful hunt.

It had to be known that they had been in the Second Sanctuary for only a few weeks. Yet, they had already killed such a powerful beast. It wasn't to scoff at, especially with their low acupoints.

Sarah nodded calmly in acknowledgnt of their victory, then walked purposefully toward the deceased creature.

Then, she retrieved a dagger from her storage ring and carefully opened the lizard's chest cavity. Her movents were calm as she extracted the beast's core—a valuable resource that would contribute to their spiritual advancent and could be traded for compensation.

"Good work," she said simply, examining the quality of the core they'd obtained. "This should provide excellent spirit power absorption."

Marcus grinned at their successful partnership, already planning their next hunting expedition to continue building their strength in the challenging environnt of the Second Sanctuary.
