The awakeners nearby imdiately tried to help, warriors darting toward the mysterious assassin in a desperate attempt to intercept his killer moves. Mages and archers held their fire, unable to attack without risking catastrophic collateral damage with their Lord in the line of fire and the Mountain Bear still very much alive.
"He-he," the figure giggled softly as its attack flashed toward the Base Lord’s head once more in an attempt to behead him again.
At the last mont, the figure switched stances with surprising mobility and leapt in a graceful arc above the Base Lord’s defensive stance and dove down with the dagger aid directly at his skull from above.
As the strongest awakener in the base, the Lord’s combat experience was extensive. He felt the change in trajectory imdiately and looked up, shifting all his defensive positioning upward to intercept the aerial assault.
At that crucial mont, a massive spear of earth erupted directly from beneath the Base Lord’s feet, tearing through his chest without resistance. The stone spike had been conjured by the Mountain Bear, which had taken advantage of the distraction to execute a perfectly tid coordinated attack with the assassin despite being attacked by the others in the battlefield.
The assassin landed several ters away, then vanished completely as if they’d never existed.
’Is that a class skill? Or is that so sort of equipnt. It’s so strong, I can’t even sense the assassin through my heat sense skill, maybe because it has low proficiency?’ Moon thought grimly.
The thought of his heat sense skill being too weak was ignored the mont after it arrived. Whilst his proficiency was low, Kael had mastered the skill, perhaps even evolved it too. So, there would be no reason for him to not say anything if he could see the assassin, unless the distance was too far for Kael to perceive the assassin during his invisibility.
Moon’s mind kept going through the the possibilities, until one specific thought erged
Maybe...he... Moon thought with growing horror, as he stared at Kael’s aloof expression. The thought that ca to his mind was incredibly concerning.
He kept the thought in mind, not discarding it, despite its absurdity. He knew that anything could happen in this sanctuary, and he needed to be ready for anything, at any ti.
The Base Lord coughed out a mouthful of blood before collapsing to the ground, his body losing all strength as the earth spear dissolved back into soil.
Within seconds, the Base Lord spawned once again. But this ti his face was as pale as a ghost, his entire body trembling violently. His legs quivered and gave out beneath him, forcing him to one knee.
The debuff from multiple rapid deaths had taken hold. He was in no condition to continue fighting.
The awakeners nearby imdiately ford a tight protective circle around the fallen Lord, shields raised and weapons ready.
But the situation had shifted catastrophically. Their leader was incapacitated. An assassin of unknown capability was sowhere on the battlefield with perfect stealth. And the Mountain Bear remained undefeated.
Moon grew more worried about his own safety. He couldn’t protect himself from an opponent he couldn’t see. Moon didn’t have nearly enough experience to predict where the opponent could attack from.
Feeling threatened by the hidden threat, Moon took a huge risk. He darted towards Kael’s group, staying close with them.
Kael turned his head towards Moon that had joined their fray.
Moon ignored the look they gave him shalessly, and asked. "How are we going to deal with these two? There is a powerful assassin that we can’t see, and a powerful beast with terrifying defensive and offensive power."
Marcus was the only one to reply. "This is going to be tough."
As Moon and Kael’s group began exchanging words, the lord of the base was being escorted by those around him. The rumor of the base lord having a single life left had spread amongst the awakeners, terrifying them.
The base lord had been defeated, and ambushed. He was in no shape to fight against two extrely powerful opponents, and they were sohow supposed to do that.
The thought of abandoning the base filled the minds of many. Bases could be re-built, and changed. They couldn’t. Once they were dead for real, they were dead, and the base lord wasn’t going to do anything about it.
Barely seconds had passed since the base lord’s retreat, when low level awakeners ranging from 9 to 15 began abandoning the battlefield, running away from the terrifying Three-ard Mountain Bear, and the hidden assassin, that might ambush them at any mont, beheading them.
Seeing that spectacle, Moon began to grow more anxious.
He stared at his status in frustration.

His progress towards the next level had been stagnant, barely moving up as most of the beasts he killed were at a much lower level, providing little to no experience at all.
His live accumulation was slowly increasing too, most of his kills provided 5 lives whilst the highest he’d been getting was twenty at a ti.
He knew that this would totally change when he killed the Three-ard Mountain Bear, or the hidden assassin. But that would be difficult, incredibly difficult to do.
The beast was at a higher level with high affinity towards the earth elent, and the assassin countered him, an assassin was a mage’s worst nightmare.
Currently, his explosive fla matched the damage output of his fire-based Elental Attack. Based on the current trajectory of the battle, Moon was confident that practicing was no longer a smart move, especially with two powerful enemies, compared to one.
Thus, Moon was ready to start casting lightening based attacks at any given mont.
I don’t believe that I won’t be able to hold my ground when using my lightening elent.
