Six students, all male, now stood dozens of ters away from Desther.
The one in the center whom Desther now confird as their leader has orange hair. He was lean and buff, wearing what seed to be armor made of tal. On his right hand was a broadsword, looking sharp and threatening.
He was looking at Desther with a radiant and friendly smile on his face.
Desther was actually not unfamiliar with him.
He had dominated the rankings in the last few days after all.
The man in the center was Arthur Maquil, known to have awakened a B-Grade Talent, just like Lexie. It was also rumored that the talent he awakened was extrely suitable for combat, making him a good candidate or seedling to nurture in the school, much like Lexie and Victor.
"I apologize for what my friend just said; I’m sure he did not an it." Arthur patted the student on his right with a smile.
The student could only nod his head, not wanting to get on Arthur’s bad side.
"Please don’t mind him. My friend is just extrely grumpy because we have been following that herd for hours. We just did not expect that you would be able to beat us to it. Hahaha."
He seed to be soone easy to get along with. He was laughing at every turn and honestly did not seem that threatening—for Desther, at least.
"By the way, it’s a pleasure eting you here. My na’s Arthur Maquil from Class D, these are my friends, Oliver, Lexis, Klyde, Regie, and Miller."
Arthur introduced himself and pointed at the students beside him one by one.
Seeing that they were actually not hostile to him and seed to be only expressing their grievance, Desther did not want to pursue it any further and decided to be friendly with them as well.
As the governnt and the school had always said, the enemy were the monsters, not your fellow humans.
"Likewise. My na is Desther, from Class A."
He introduced himself briefly.
Although they were not hostile, it did not an that he would be chatty with them, either.
He believed them when they said that they had been following the Earth Bison’s herd for hours. This was the normal setup for those who wanted to hunt them, after all.
The stampede was dangerous, and no one was willing to confront the bison if they were in such a state. Hence, the best way to deal with them was to allow them to continue with the stampede, follow them, wait for them to tire out, and then finish the job.
He could understand why his friend was grumpy. After all, for them, the tired herd would be an easy kill and hence could be said to be free points for them.
Unfortunately, Desther killed the herd before they could tire out, rendering Arthur and his group’s effort to waste as well.
If it were him, he would honestly feel the sa too.
"Desther? Pardon for my blunt words, but this is actually the first ti I heard a na like yours in Class A."
Desther just shrugged his shoulders upon hearing that.
"Beats . I don’t think all of my classmates know my na either," he answered. He twirled the dagger around as he approached the nearest Earth Bison, preparing to dissect and collect the loot.
It was at this mont that Noah arrived as well. He was panting and sweating heavily, warily looking at Arthur and his companions.
Arthur rely raised his hands in the air, as if telling him that they ant no harm.
"Don’t mind them. Help collect the loot and take a picture of them for points too."
Desther instructed as he pulled an Earth Bison’s horn out of its head with his bare hand.
Arthur did not seem to mind that they were being ignored.
And instead of staying any longer, he and his companions decided to leave the area and search for so monsters to hunt.
"I’ll see you around, Dether, and you as well, Noah. It’s a pleasure eting you here; take care. For humanity!"
Desther and Noah looked at their departing figures and did not try to stop them.
Noah heaved a sigh of relief as he continued to take pictures of the Earth Bison that Desther killed.
On the other hand, Desther shook his head and muttered, "There seems to be sothing different about him."
This was the first ti he had interacted with Arthur. To say that he had a good impression was not an understatent.
He just felt sothing different about him.
When Arthur looked at him earlier, he could not feel an ounce of hostility from him at all.
It must be noted that with his enhanced senses, his instinct honed through combat, the Supre Will, and the Supre Combat Art, he had beco even more sensitive to such feelings.
He could feel so slight hostility from his friends, but not one ounce of it from Arthur.
Anyway, Desther discarded his thoughts and focused on harvesting the loot.
After they were done, they discovered that there were actually a total of 47 Earth Bisons that Desther killed.
Desther and Noah do not need the points as of this mont, so they planned to send them all to Victor all at once.
After Noah sent them all, he earned yet another 705 Awakened Credits from Victor.
His wealth increased with every monster they killed.
Coupled with the loot they collected, Desther realized that they would be able to earn roughly five thousand Awakened Credits.
For Desther, that was definitely a big sum of money.
The Space Bag was now almost filled to the brim. Desther and Noah planned to return to the main base later on to submit and exchange them for supplies.
For now, though, they must continue hunting, even if it ans leaving the loot behind.
Victor had not achieved first place after all.
Lexie was going strong. Now more than 50 points ahead of Victor.
With the recent pictures they sent, though, the gap would surely narrow in the coming days, or even hours.
As they searched for their next target, Desther decided to check his current progress through his Profile Page.
