The group did not need a second warning.
As they saw the massive tallic Sandworm lung forward, the four students split apart with proper team synergy, creating a wide periter to ensure a single subterranean sweep from the sandworm could not take them all out at once.
"I will suppress the worm’s movent!" Alice’s voice cut through the screeching sound of tal coming from the sandworm.
"Han, use your Tiger to draw its focus. Verso, Moon you guys are our main damage so focus on taking it down!"
Under Alice’s leadership the battlefield beca coordinated instantly as she designated everyone their own roles.
Right as she finished saying this, the Frost Yeti began a series of heavy leaps around the worm’s massive body.
Every ti the beast would land it would slam its massive snowy fists on the tallic dunes sending a shockwave of permafrost rippling outward which flash froze the iron shavings on the ground, severely impacting the tallic Sandworm’s movents.
Seeing Alice fulfill her role, Han followed up.
His Leaping White Tiger turned into a white blur and as a streak of light it danced around the worm’s steel plated hide as it struck the wild beast with precision in an attempt to get its attention.
It worked pretty well as even though the Tiger’s strikes were not lethal to the worm because of its high endurance, they were still noticeable and irritating enough to get its attention.
The worm let out a deafening, tallic shriek as it started rotating its spinning maw faster, its entire focus on the annoying white shadow below it.
The worm prepared to strike and suddenly a sudden surge of mana vibrated through the air.
"Dodge!" Alice scread as it predicting what was about the happen.
Verso did not wait to see what was coming as he threw himself to the side.
Suddenly multiple six foot tall jagged tal spikes erupted from the ground exactly where he had been standing.
As he rolled on the ground, his eyes were locked on the beast.
’tal manipulation... and on a scale this large?’ Verso thought, his grip tightening on the Black Scythe. ’This thing is definitely a mid tier Elite.’
"I guess it’s my turn to act." Verso muttered.
High above, the Reinforced Gargoyle folded its wings. Using the sheer height and its new fourteen foot mass, it entered a high velocity dive.
It was not just a fall, it was like a kinetic missile.
With a stony screech that made the sand on the ground flow up, the Gargoyle slamd into the worm’s side. Its reinforced claws tearing the steel armor of the worm like aluminum foil.
Verso grinned. The fifty percent increase had been totally worth it as he could finally see the potential of the Reinforced Gargoyle in battle.
"Step aside, scum! Let a pro show you how it’s done!" Moon shouted.
Suddenly a low, guttural groan echoed across the desert.
Verso glanced toward Moon and saw the Berserker Knight’s visor glowing with a blinding, murderous red light.
He had seen Moon use this ability several tis before so he now knew more about it.
Just like he had initially thought, this was really Moon’s own ability. Using this ability he was funneling his own mana into the knight, trading the knight’s endurance for a terrifying spike in strength and agility.
This ability allowed him to buff any of his summon in exchange for their endurance, so even though the power gain was imnse, it was not sustainable to use at all.
The Knight leaped forward as it moved faster than the eye could follow, a streak of black iron.
It t the worm mid lunge, its greatsword whistling through the air in a perfect X motion.
SHREEEEEE!
The Greatsword carved two massive cut through the worm’s midsection. A geyser of foul, glowing green blood erupted, soaking the red tal sand.
The beast instantly recoiled in pain as it twisted its body.
But then, the worm did sothing unexpected. Instead of a final stand, it suddenly coiled and dove back into the sand, moving away from the group with desperate speed.
"Fuck! It’s running away!" Moon shouted, already sprinting after the burrowing mound in the sand.
"Get back here, you overgrown tin can!"
The summons instantly gave chase, but Verso hesitated for a fraction of a second.
’Didn’t they say that the deeper we go into the Graveyard, the more dangerous it gets. We can not just let it lead us into an ambush.’
He instantly gave the Gargoyle a silent, ntal command.
The massive Gargoyle dove hard, soaring ahead of the burrowing worm. It plumted back to earth, landing directly in the worm’s path.
Sensing an obstacle, the Sandworm lunged out of the dunes in a final, desperate attempt to swallow the stone beast whole.
Its massive maw was opened wide, revealing rows of needle like teeth.
But the Gargoyle stood its ground. The yellow runes etched into its reinforced stone skin began to glow with a blinding intensity.
As the worm’s mouth closed in, the Gargoyle thrust both hands forward reaching directly into the beast’s throat before using its Mana Beam.
Instantly, a concentrated pillar of pure yellow energy erupted from the Gargoyle’s palms at point blank range.
Verso watched as the sandworm’s segnts visibly inflated, the pressure of the mana expanding the steel plates until they couldn’t hold together.
BOOM.
The tallic Sandworm exploded from the inside out, raining jagged shards of steel and green gore across the red desert.
[Elite Beast Slain: tallic Sandworm]
Moon panted, coming to a halt near the smoking remains. He looked at the Gargoyle, then back at Verso, a manic grin returning to his face.
"Okay... that was actually a decent kill, scum. I’ll give you that one."
Alice walked up to the scene as her Yeti dissipating into mist.
"That was one flashy finish..."
Verso just wiped a splash of green blood off his scale armor, his heart still pounding.
"I just did not want to chase it too deep into the dungeon, the last thing we want is to get jumped." He said with a smile, but as fate had it the ground around them started to shake once again.
’Oh fuck no...’ Verso thought as he looked ahead.
In front of them were new eruptions of sand as two other sandworm had appeared at the battlefield.
