Mark shook his head. He had a serious expression on his face as he silently observed everything that was going on. "A player or NPC?"
Damon shook his head. "Nope. He is an item spirit."
More accurately, he is the item spirit of this tallic fortress. This guy is the tallic fortress, and the tallic fortress is him. Just like a sword spirit or sothing like that."
"I was able to share so of Azuna’s mories when I bound with her, and I learned quite a few things. This guy is actually pretty powerful."
Mark listened carefully as Damon explained everything he knew. "Azuna had been with him right from when she was just a seedling. I am not sure why or how, but this guy beca extrely injured and ca to this ga world all on his own. He has been here for centuries, apparently, slowly trying to recover."
"Not just that. This guy’s knowledge is extrely valuable. He knows a lot of things that we cannot even think about. His knowledge alone is an unparalleled treasure trove. The only problem is that he doesn’t want to cooperate."
Damon then awkwardly cleared his throat. "About before. I had to do all that to make sure that he wouldn’t be able to attack us. There is a binding system contract, and there is no way he should be able to break that. I still had to test it out. Even I am out of my depths when it cos to beings like him. He is not soone I can even dream of controlling."
Mark laughed. "I am not going to tattle on you to Kate. Is that what you are asking ?"
Damon awkwardly laughed again. "There is nothing to tattle to begin with. Just a strategy I had to adopt to make sure this guy listens to . Co on."
Mark still only laughed, not giving him any sort of assurance.
Damon could only give up. His attention shifted back to La Rocha, who was still seething in anger. While it was true that he had absolutely no way of controlling him, he still had a vague idea about how he could threaten him into submission.
If he was not wrong, then the relationship between him and Azuna should be...
Soon, almost an hour passed by when La Rocha’s punishnt was finally beginning to wind down. The bolts of system-inflicted energy were fewer now, the frequency slowing. The once-proud item spirit now lay sprawled on the cold tal floor, his form flickering faintly, like a dying dog.
His defiance hadn’t broken entirely, but it had cracked enough that his next move would be a calculated one, not a reckless outburst. He was learning, painfully, that Damon’s authority was real.
Damon walked towards him and crouched down. "I guess when you ran here into this world to hide, you never expected soone to actually bind to you, huh. Your mistake, my gain, my friend."
La Rocha once again gritted his teeth, the familiar shade of rage appearing on his face when Damon quickly interrupted him. "Maybe you want to wait for a second to hear out before you once again get roasted by the system? I have a proposition for you."
Damon paused. He then looked at La Rocha with a cold glint in her eyes. "She is utterly useless, isn’t she? I am talking about your girl, that world spirit. I need to find so primordial soul, echo fragnt, and whatnot, just to stabilize her, and I can only use her after I stabilize her. What sort of bullshit is this? These are things I can never achieve in my lifeti. Like you repeated many tis, I am just a trash insect. So what can I possibly do for her?"
"So what I am thinking is... I will drain her dry." Damon smiled, his smile bordering on creepy. "I will suck her dry and get that power up. I think I might be able to get her natural affinity for earth elent if I suck her dry. What do you say?"
La Rocha’s face changed. Even in his helpless state, rage and frustration filled him up. Sensing his mood, small bolts started appearing above him, the system’s punishnt once again threatening to teach him a lesson or two.
"Wait. Wait. Wait. I am still not done." Damon chuckled villainously. "Obviously, I have another option. The second option is for you to help out a little here and there."
"Of course, if you do this and help gain a little bit of strength and my own footing and maybe even make another world spirit for , then I can release your girl Azuna from my contract. I have no need for her or her blood. I an, it’s a soul contract and all that, but surely soone with your knowledge and wisdom knows a thing or two about getting around that?"
Damon grinned. He could see the guy intently listening to him. He had him hook, line, and sinker.
"Hmmm? So what do you say? Cooperate with and have a happily ever after with your lovely girl? Hey, I promise not to lay a hand on her again if that makes you feel better. She is still a virgin and all that. I swear. This was the first ti I teased her a little. Just a little over the top action." Damon shrugged.
"That shouldn’t bother you so much, right? I an if you refuse right now, I might even end up getting really angry and frustrated and go full on ape shit on her and drain her dry right this second? I really have no conscience. You can ask my follower here. I threw him to the wolves only just recently. I am really not a good guy."
Damon was not even lying. He did throw Mark to his family and left him alone to fend for himself.
"Co on. What do you say? A happy ending for a item spirit who t with a disastrous misfortune and a happy ending for a trashy vampire like myself who stepped onto lucky shit? Both of us get what we want. Doesn’t that sound nice?"
