Now reading: Chapter 25: The city has changed from SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God, a Fantasy novel by Duskblade.

Bloodreign remained silent for a bit, and then she spoke up. "What rumors have you been listening to? You need to be at least a Blood Lord to turn soone into a vampire."

Damon nodded. He already knew this but he was still very nervous. He ran a hand through his hair, eyes locked on the crimson-soaked earth at his feet. This was good. There shouldn't be any more problems from that woman. Clearly, she doesn't rember anything and there shouldn't be any changes in her body.

Now the only other question was how long could he go without blood.

He swiped away the bunch of system notifications that inford him about the experience points gained for killing the rabid hounds along with the couple of agility and strength stat points.

They had also given him another skill.

[Berserk Instinct - Passive]

Berserk Instinct: When your bloodlust reaches a critical threshold, your physical stats increase by 20% for a short duration. Duration scales with kill count. Warning: ntal clarity may be compromised during activation.

This was the innate skill of Dire hounds which made them sowhat deadly when encountered in big packs. However, this skill was a double-edged sword as it also made the beasts extrely easy to trick and kill.

To Damon this skill could co in handy in many ways but he did not have the ti to think about these things at the mont. He simply cleared all the notifications. Bloodreign was right. He needed to figure so things out in the ga world before everything fell apart in the real world.

As far as he could see only he seed to have awakened in the real world. There was no need for him to panic about this. This was not a bad thing. This could be a very good thing if he managed to get everything under his control.

He of all people knew how ruthless the world could be. As soon as one lost their footing, the world wouldn't hesitate to push them further down, all the way to the rock bottom and still continue to step on them.

And Damon had already lived that once. He could only imagine how the new world would be. With magic and super powers and monsters openly roaming about in the world, there was no telling what would beco of the current world order. It was definitely going to be a shit show.

But sohow he had a chance to get ahead of this shitshow. He shouldn't let that go to waste no matter the cost. Only this way he would be able to protect himself and those who truly mattered to him.

Damon clenched his fists in determination. He was going to use this opportunity to the fullest that he can. For that he needed to run so tests. The first thing he needed to check was how long he could last without feeding.

He checked the ti. He had killed the rabid hounds roughly fifteen minutes ago. He was clear headed now and he had to check how long he could keep this up. It was a good ti to get done with his world boss quest.

He debated a couple of seconds between logging out first, figuring out so way to get human blood, versus finishing his world boss quest. While the forr was extrely important for his real life to not blow up, the latter was important to stabilize his bloodline.

In the end, he decided to go with the quest. Strengthening his bloodline might help with his issue in real life, so it seed like the best option at the mont.

Without any hesitation, Damon walked into the city. For a mont, he was nervous. Would his identity be exposed? After all, he had only just now created a huge uproar with his awakening. He was not sure how effective Bloodreign's cloaking was.

He walked into the gates and the two guards gave him a indifferent look before waving him in. one of them yawned and the other one scratched his butt.

Damon blinked. "That's it?"

Bloodreign chuckled in his mind. "I told you, my cloaking is flawless. Besides, these guys can't even detect a fart through chainmail."

Still, Damon remained cautious. Just because the entry guards were brain-dead didn't an the higher-ups were, especially since the city was a lot more lively at the mont.

There were a lot more priests of the divine temple and the holy church roaming about in the city. He also recognized a few priest-class players in the mix. Damon's eyes went wide as he recognized one of them.

David!

The future top-ranked priest player in the entire ga. Damon gritted his teeth in anger. This bastard alone had hunted him and his group several tis in his last life, making them pay heavily with every single clash.

Damon had personally lost loot, levels, and almost dropped his bloody quest item. The man was an absolute nace. However, Damon still respected the guy because he was talented as fuck. While others used shortcuts to reach the top, this guy's path was paved by pure talent and skill.

When the man casually crossed him on the street, he half-expected David to catch him, but even the top player couldn't sense him at all.

Damon couldn't help but smile as he continued walking. But the surprises were not done yet. A mont later, he ca across another familiar face.

Aurora!

The future top-ranked divine priestess!

Her stunningly beautiful face was impossible to miss and even harder to forget.

Damon halted mid-step, his eyes widening ever so slightly. Aurora. Radiant, calm, and terrifying in a divine-wrath-wrapped-in-velvet sort of way. She wasn't just a top-tier healer—she was a battlefield nuke with the smile of a saint and the heart of a tyrant.

In his past life, her na alone was enough to make several guilds tremble with fear. Damon had watched footage of her purify undead wyrms solo and obliterate entire dark factions with a wave of her glowing scepter. The woman practically shat divine essence.

And now here she was, wearing nothing but beginner robes and that sa gentle smile. She was chatting with a group of NPCs by a temple fountain, completely unaware of the chaos her future self would cause.

"I guess I also changed their fates?" Damon chuckled inwardly as he walked past her. However, unlike Davind, the woman suddenly snapped to turn and look at him. For a second, Damon froze as his mind prepared for all worst-case scenarios, but the erald eyes only casually swept over him before returning to the conversation at hand.

This woman's intuition was scary!

As he crossed her, unexpectedly, he felt a sudden pull. His blood thirst, which was pretty much controlled and at bay, all of a sudden spiked up. His tongue started salivating, and his gums ached where his fangs lay hidden.
