It only took a couple of seconds for the system to tally all the gold coins and spit out the number. Damon blinked, rubbing his eyes to make sure he wasn’t hallucinating.
999,342,600 gold coins.
Not a billion, not yet, but close enough that his head swam just looking at it.
It was an astronomical amount, and Erin had simply given it all to him without asking for anything in return. He turned to her and quickly pulled her in for a hug. She was truly the best sugar mommy in the whole world.
Erin, on the other hand, blinked in confusion. Her arms stiffened for a mont, clearly not expecting the sudden contact. She had never been embraced like this by anyone.
"My lord?" she whispered, her voice trembling as if she feared she had sohow offended him. "Did I... do sothing worthy of this honor?" Her beautiful blue green eyes searched his face when he pulled back slightly, trying to read his expression.
Damon smirked, his crimson eyes gleaming with amusent. "Worthy? Erin, you just made the richest player in Earth Online." He held her by the shoulders, giving her the faintest shake. "You’ve given the kind of power entire guilds would sell their souls for. If I didn’t hug you after that, I’d be the biggest bastard alive."
Her lips parted in stunned silence, then curved into a smile. "Then... I am glad, my lord. If my existence can bring you closer to your throne, then I am already fulfilled."
Damon chuckled and let her go. "Best sugar mommy in the world, hands down."
Erin blinked, tilting her head in confusion. "Sugar... mommy?" She did not understand the foreign phrase.
Damon nearly choked on his own laughter. "Forget it. Thanks. Really, thanks for the big help." He then turned his attention to the rest of his storage space. He now had 1 billion, but there was still 1.5 billion more to go. There was a lot more work to be done.
"My lord?" Kaelthorn stepped forward, interrupting his thoughts. He then handed over to Damon a storage pouch. "These are the treasures and gold coins I collected from all the treasure chests around that place."
"Oh, right on ti." Damon quickly took the pouch and checked out the contents. "Oh! Not bad. Not bad at all." He gave Kaelthorn a big thumbs up. "I didn’t expect you to collect these many treasure chests in such a short ti. You have done well."
Even though Erin would have collected all those gold coins and items from the treasure chests and handed it over to him, he still had to appreciate the effort the guy had put into it.
"Alright. So that’s 1 billion and then so change." Damon sighed. Even with the proceeds from the auction house, he was still more than half the amount short.
Damon leaned back in the throne, one hand resting lazily against the armrest while his other flicked through the glowing tally. Close to a billion already, yet still far from his insane goal.
"That auction will help," he muttered, half to himself. "Maybe another hundred million or so, but one and a half billion more... tch. Even I can’t squeeze that much out of thin air." His eyes narrowed, thoughts racing.
"My lord," Erin called him.
"Hmmm?"
"If I may suggest sothing." She bowed and continued. "I have read so of the weaker creatures’ minds. There are so energy-rich mines in this world, lying around here and there."
"Mana mines." Damon nodded. He knew about these too. But the problem was...
"Do you by chance know the location of any?"
Erin shook her head. "Please forgive , my Lord. Since I did not care about this information, I never bothered to retain the exact coordinates," She admitted softly, filled with regret.
"The whispers ca to as fragnts, scattered images from dying minds. I only know the general regions. Vast valleys where the ground breathes mist, caverns that reek of burnt mana, and mountains that bleed with light at night. Each of these is likely ho to such a mine."
Damon smiled bitterly. He couldn’t really use that information. Even in his last life, he knew that so guilds had control over such mines, but naturally, information about their location was safely guarded and not public knowledge.
He thought about it for so ti and then called Kaelthorn over. "I need you to get to the auction house and put up these items for sale. Look at the current prices for similar items and make the other decisions on your own."
Kaelthorn stepped forward, bowing low, his hand pressed over his chest in solemn acknowledgnt. "As you command, my lord." His eyes flicked briefly to the storage pouch Damon held out to him.
It was brimming with all sorts of valuable items. It contained rare loot, various powerful weapons, armors, accessory items, and enough enchanted trinkets to make any guild froth at the mouth.
Kaelthorn gave a sharp nod, fastened the pouch to his belt, adjusted his cloak, and, without further hesitation, vanished into the hallways of the Blood Hall.
There was one other thing he could auction, but he decided to hold off on it. Damon gave another look at the many bottles of spit he had collected.
If he unleashed these in the world, then there would be utter chaos and commotion everywhere, with suddenly even the weaker guilds leveling up fast and overtaking the stronger ones.
Everything would beco haphazard, and those who possessed his spit would get the chance to beco champions of the new world. In a way, his fluids would beco the greatest currency the ga had ever seen.
Damon tapped one finger against the throne’s armrest, his lips curling in a wry half-smile. Should he do it or not?
On one hand, he would be giving his enemies an advantage, perhaps even helping them out a little. This felt a little dangerous to him. But on the other hand... There would be chaos!
Damon grinned. He knew what he was going to do.
