"Heh. Here I thought I was your best friend, and you were doing a favor, but you are handing out this shit like candy?" Ghost laughed as he tossed an arm over Damon’s shoulder. "How are you doing these days? You sure have bounced back pretty well."
Damon smirked, letting Ghost’s arm weigh down on his shoulder without brushing it off. "Candy? Please. You think I’m Santa Claus? I don’t hand this kind of thing to just anyone. Slam Dunk needed it. You..." his crimson eyes flicked sideways, sharp and amused, "already have enough ways to get yourself killed without adding poison vials to the mix. Forget about . How are you doing? Did you take care of your problem yet?"
Ghost shook his head with a bitter smile. "Nope. Still running around in circles."
Damon did not say anything. It was very clear from the way Ghost avoided Damon’s gaze that "still running around in circles" was an understatent. It was also very weird for him to hear the elusive guy actually admitting to being so helpless and vulnerable.
"Check this out." Damon tossed him a vial. "See if this will help at all." He tossed a vial to the guy. He then sent a bunch more through the personal trade option.
Ghost’s brows lifted. "What the hell is this? Don’t tell this is the sa poison you’re peddling around. You know I don’t need poisons to get my shit done." He twirled it between his fingers.
Damon chuckled. "Fine, don’t use it if you don’t want. Just keep it with you anyway."
Ghost shrugged and took it without arguing any further. "Why are you doing this? If this is so sort of super poison, shouldn’t you be hoarding it and keeping it for yourself?"
"I have enough." Damon grinned. "Also, I need so money."
Ghost rolled his eyes. "So that’s why you ca to see . Dude, you could have just asked."
Damon raised a brow in surprise. "Hey. I am not joking here. I need a lot more than a million or two. Even you can’t help . I have so plans, though. Will work sothing out." Even as he was speaking, another personal trade interface popped up in front of him.
[Ding! You do wish to accept a transfer of 500,000,000 gold coins?]
Damon froze. Half a billion gold coins?
"What the fuck? Why do you have so much money?" Damon looked at the guy in utter shock. Never did he actually think that Ghost of all people would have this kind of money. "Dude, why do you run away from brothels without paying when you have so much gold?"
Ghost laughed. "Well, firstly, I like chests and especially big ones. Got a lot of these from popping open so ripe ones. Secondly, bro, co on. A handso guy like shouldn’t have to pay for sex. It’s just unfair. The girls would feel bad if I did. I am just doing them a favor."
Damon laughed. "You are a complete idiot," he finished, shaking his head but still chuckling. "Thank you for this help. Once again, I am indebted to you."
Ghost looked at the vial again. "It’s fine. Maybe this shit is worth it."
"I have a lot more where they ca from." Damon offered him more, but Ghost imdiately turned it down. "I don’t like crutches. What you gave is more than enough."
Damon shook his head. "Do you have to make things more difficult than they have to be?"
"Look who is talking." Ghost laughed.
Damon did not say anything.
"Don’t look at like that," Ghost said with a lopsided smile, flicking the vial between his fingers again. "It’s just money. You’ll burn through it anyway. Better you than . I’ve got my own shit to deal with, and believe ... no amount of coin fixes that."
"Ok, if you say so. But I will pay you back later."
"I am not going to say no to more gold. But you don’t have to rush. Take your ti, and anwhile, feel free to call big daddy. Got to go now. I will catch you later. If I stay at the sa place for long, so nosy bastards will sniff out. Bye."
Ghost gave a lazy salute with two fingers, already turning away as if the conversation was over. His cloak rippled in the wind, and just like that, he was lting back into the shadows, the kind of exit only soone like him could pull off.
Damon stood there for a mont, staring at the trade window still glowing faintly before it flickered out. Half a billion coins sat in his balance now, heavy as a mountain.
And just like that, he was closer than ever to achieving the target. He let out a quiet breath, a crooked grin tugging at his lips. "That bastard is in for a surprise."
He badly wanted to see Ghost’s face when he realized it. He had given Ghost the new and upgraded spit. The older one was already super effective, but this new version should be able to deal with beings a lot stronger than level 150. "Hopefully, this can help solve his problem sowhat."
After a while, Damon silently left the spot as well. He went out of the city and once again made a Blood Gate portal. He had a few more etings lined up, all with potential allies. Thankfully, most of the etings went well, and they all reacted like Slam Dunk instead of Necro God.
This made things quicker. But there was still a lot left to be done. Damon did not waste any more ti with these small fires he was setting all around, and teleported to Gilford City. He first needed to take care of shit. Fucking around could wait.
Damon arrived at the city and imdiately noticed the two waiting for him. "Hey, I am here." He waved and walked over to them. "Let’s go see what this mine is."
