Damon had no idea what this energy was and how sothing like this could be contained in a simple crystal. La Rocha had definitely dropped the ball on this one. If that bastard had known that this energy was so unique, mysterious, and powerful, he would have never parted with it so easily.
It did not matter. Right now, Damon did not care about these things.
He had never once felt a bloodlust so high and intoxicating. At this mont, there was simply nothing else in his mind. He did not care about the ga world. He did not care about the real world. He did not care about becoming stronger. His family, Kate, his friends, everything was simply a haze.
There was one and only one thought in his mind, and that was to consu the glorious energy zig-zagging through his body right now.
Each minuscule packet of this energy was bursting with power. Every single thread that coursed through Damon’s body felt alive, like a storm compressed into a grain of sand. It was unstable, unpredictable, and yet maddeningly addictive. He could sense it trying to carve new channels through his veins.
It was tearing down his entire body and remaking it. He was going to beco the strongest vampire in the entire cosmos with the help of these strands of glorious energy. He was going to ascend higher than any God or Deity and clutch the throne at the very top. He was-
Damon froze. His eyes reddened as he finally realized that sothing was off. Right at this mont, pain hit him like a spear to the gut. He doubled over, blood spraying from his lips, as every glorious thread of unknown energy that had felt intoxicating just seconds ago suddenly turned savage.
It was no longer a gift, no longer a feast. It was a thousand blades carving their way through his veins, remaking him cell by cell. Except his body was not strong enough to handle it. His muscles spasd violently, bones creaked like they might snap, and his skin split in hairline cracks that leaked both blood and pale light, his own life energy!
His mind flickered on the edge of blackness, torn between ecstasy and agony. For one terrifying mont, he could feel his body, mind, and soul screaming, not in triumph but in rejection. This energy was vile and corrupt. It was not helping him. It was destroying him.
"Blood Reign!" Damon shouted through gritted teeth.
If he was struggling, then so was Blood Reign. He at least had his bloodline and his primordial core to back him up and prevent him from becoming completely obliterated and consud, but Blood Reign was rely a fractured soul fragnt. If this unknown energy was ripping him apart, then she was barely holding on.
That too, she was at her weakest at the mont. She did not even have her fragnted legendary prowess right now. She was weak and vulnerable, and this thing was supposed to heal her and make her stronger.
Damn it! Did everything have to go so horrendously wrong? What the heck was this damned energy?
Damon staggered to his knees, clawing at the ground, trying to regain so sort of control over his body and the chaos that was currently rampaging through his body. Every heartbeat felt like his veins were exploding from the inside. He was only barely conscious, and sothing like regaining control felt impossible.
Damon still had to try. He had made a grave mistake and underestimated the unknown crystal. But how the hell could he have known that he would be dealing with sothing so powerful?
"No... I won’t let this be the end!" Damon roared, biting down on his tongue until blood poured freely from his mouth. He forced his will into his core, calling on every scrap of dominance his bloodline carried.
And it looked like his bloodline hadn’t been subdued just yet.
Even when dealing with the raw, chaotic, corrupt, unknown energy, his bloodline was still coming out on top. It was like an unrelenting grinder that broke down the huge ss despite the power it wielded.
His bloodline was simply rciless!
Damon could feel it working, not with finesse but with sheer brutal dominance, an ancient, primordial instinct to break down anything that dared to oppose it.
Each wave of the unknown energy that rampaged through his body was caught, shredded, and slowly digested into fragnts his core could handle. It was chaos clashing with hunger, storm clashing with abyss, and still his bloodline pressed forward like a predator that refused to let go of its prey.
Ultimately, Damon had no doubt that it was his bloodline that would co out on top, but the problem was that by the ti his bloodline took care of it, he most probably wouldn’t be alive anymore!
Perhaps if he had a more complete version of his bloodline, but with a fragnted version, this seed to be his bloodline’s maximum speed. This was not going to work. Damon knew that he needed to do the impossible. He needed to push the damn energy out.
So far, he had only consud everything that ca his way, but this one was different. He needed to push it out, and he needed to do it right now. Otherwise, he wouldn’t survive, and Blood Reign wouldn’t survive. He needed to hurry up.
"Co on. Co on." Damon growled.
His crimson aura erupted like a storm as he tried to push the foreign current out. The clash inside him beca cataclysmic. His bloodline pulling in, his will pushing out, the unknown energy tearing in both directions. His entire existence beca a tug-of-war on the verge of snapping.
Then finally, sothing did snap.
A shockwave blasted outward from his body, carving a crater in the earth. For the first ti, the foreign energy wavered. Threads of it, unable to withstand his dual assault, bled out of his body in bursts of pale grey light that burned reality itself before vanishing.
The rest writhed violently, shrinking, breaking, being ground down into fragnts, his bloodline hungrily devoured.
