"Of course. Of course, you are his wives. Why wouldn’t you be? After all, Master is probably the luckiest guy in this whole damn world." The assassin laughed. Seeing that all eyes were still fixated on him, the Third let out a sigh and opened his mouth again.
"My na is the Third. I was previously a glorious Umbra’s Hand assassin. That was until I t Master. Now I am his servant. Cough. Cough. An even more glorious position, of course. As for Master’s whereabouts, he is currently inside the legacy world of our order."
After a brief recollection of everything that had happened, Aurora and everyone else finally cald down. Both groups then quickly moved to the portal’s location.
The pitch-black, ominous portal drenched in shadow energy was swirling in front of them, daring them to take a step inside. Every few seconds, the swirling mass let out a hollow rumble, vibrating the air like a beast growling from the other side.
Lirae stepped closer, crimson eyes reflecting the abyss. "He’s inside," she whispered, heart tightening.
Aurora hovered dangerously near the edge of the swirling dark, wings bristling with agitation.
"Hubby," she muttered, squinting into the void as if she were trying to search for him in the swirling ss of energy. That was not possible. So naturally, she prepared to enter the portal. "Let go in and check it out first."
Before she could enter the portal, Norosse stopped her. A blood hand appeared in front of Aurora. "My Lady, it is not wise for you to enter the portal."
Aurora snapped to look at him, eyes blazing. However, before she could chew his head out, Third also said the sa thing. "Ummm, My Lady. It is very dangerous inside. I think Master would prefer that we all wait for him right out here."
Aurora did not care. "Have you been inside before?" She asked.
"Yes?" Third did not like where this was headed. Gears turned in his brain, but before he could co up with an excuse, the inevitable invitation arrived. "Then you should also co in with . I can navigate the place much faster with a guide." The Third started sweating.
He turned and looked at all the faces around, and everyone seed to be agreeing with Aurora suddenly. No one was stopping this madness. Even the desert princess, who was full of vigor just a while ago, suddenly seed lost in thought, staring at the three beauties.
This bastard! While the damned bloodsucker was rolling around with beauties like this and bulldozing his way through everything, pitiful little him had to go through all sorts of hoops! So unfair!
"Fuck my life." The Third cursed inwardly. He looked around once more, and there really was no way out. Accepting his fate, he was about to enter the nightmarish legacy world when all of a sudden, the one good person in the whole group finally spoke up for him.
"Miss Aurora." Norosse called again. "Allow to enter the dangerous world on your behalf. and my troops are more qualified to face anything that might lurk in the darkness. I may have acted very humble with you but you must know that I have decades of experience as a Blood General. I have entered countless battlefields and legacy worlds like this and erged unscathed."
Aurora blinked at him. He took her silence as encouragent.
"And not just any battlefields," Norosse continued, voice swelling with pride. "I have fought in the Crimson War, the Northern Icefall Siege, the Bloodwind Tournant, ranked fourth place, mind you and in my youth, I survived the Collapse of Morath alone for fourteen days!"
"I have mastered seven blood techniques, hold three noble titles, and am recognized as a prodigy in both close combat and elental blood arts. Not to ntion..." he flicked his hair back confidently, "I have been acknowledged as the most promising Blood Generals."
Norosse pressed on. "My contributions to the war were so magnificent that the Lord of the Crimson Sea family once extended an invitation for an alliance marriage. I declined, naturally. I prefer won of more... refined taste."
His eyes slid toward Aurora. He then lifted his chin proudly, and continued. "I have the blood of Farakalaker, the Blood Demon, running in my veins. I alone am enough to bring back the Blood Hall’s little lord. Fret not, my lady. I will take care of everything for you. With around you, you will never have any wants or needs. You only need to breathe and I will satisfy all your needs and desires."
"Once inside, I shall retrieve Lord Blood Hall personally. When I return, carrying him over my shoulder, you may rest assured that..."
Aurora’s eyes widened. Alzara stared in shock. Lirae and Ellora both gaped. Norosse chuckled smugly. Finally, these won understand the reality. However, the very next mont, he too froze in shock.
Behind him, the portal trembled. Shadow energy surged violently and then started exploding everywhere. The portal all of a sudden beca several sizes bigger. It roared and sputtered and before anyone could react, a surge of energy exploded.
And along with it, erged shadow beasts. Five, ten and then dozens poured out of the rift. In the blink of an eye, the entire place was flooded with shadow beasts of all kinds. Norosse watched dumbly, his jaw dropping on the ground. He had never witnessed anything like this in his life.
His instincts scread at him to run. This was a dangerous volatile situation. But at the sa ti, it was also an opportunity. He could beco the savior for all of these won. The hero who protected them when they were powerless! The one they would rely on, admire, love!
Norosse puffed out his chest, raised his sword dramatically and shouted at the top of his lungs. "Everyone retreat!" He shouted valiantly. "I will hold these vicious creatures at bay. Retreat and then call for reinforcents! I shall be the wall between you and danger! Do not worry for my safety! Just go!"
