"How are you here? How is this possible?" Necrogod stamred. Every mory storm allowed only one person to enter. He had seen a couple of groups attempt to enter one together, but they failed despite trying many tis. So how was this possible? How did this asshole manage to get here?
Moreover… he also… Necrogod gulped as he checked his status again. It was still there. All the attributes he had lost were still there. His life energy, vitality, strength, everything was slowly coming back. This was still lower than what he had to begin with, but this was more than enough to give him a good enough chance. He gulped again and looked up when he abruptly froze in shock. Necrogod sucked in a big breath of air as he stared speechlessly at the six corpses on the ground. The humongous demonic creatures that were undefeatable behemoths just a few seconds ago now lie listlessly on the ground, with their veins blackened, eyes liquified, and brains lting out from the ears. Their blood essence was seeping out of them, going straight to Damon.
It was not just Necrogod. There was complete pin-drop silence all around him with the colosseum crowd frozen just as he was, including the being sitting on the huge throne. Everyone was completely dumbfounded.
Only Damon moved as he conjured another blood spear, and it was aid at Necrogod. "Dude, so more stats coming your way!"
Necrogod dumbly nodded as he opened his status screen once again. "This jerk…" He mouthed as gratitude and warmth filled his heart.
With the scenario cleared, the mory storm ended, and the two of them were kicked out of the mory world. They were even teleported back to the sa spot, together in the main trial world.
"Wow. How about that? It looks like we can actually do this thing together now? Isn't that amazing? By the way, what's wrong with your legendary item?" Damon casually asked, walking over to Necrogod to give him a hand to stand up.
Necrogod stared at him dumbfoundedly.
"What? Are you thinking how this is possible?" Damon pensively looked around, rubbing his chin. "I think it's because you are my follower. I wasn't able to bring any followers with , but if you qualified for the event on your own and ca in on your own, I guess this is allowed. We should enter another mory storm to check."
"Right." Necrogod weakly nodded.
"The only bad thing is… I got only one mory shard, which automatically combined with my mory orb. So none for you, I guess, before I finish this thing at least. Or maybe followers are not qualified for the event to begin with?"
Necrogod once again nodded without saying anything.
"What? Why are you staring at like this? Are you pissed that I ruined your chances of claiming the golden throne? It might not be the case. I am just saying that it's possible."
"...."
"That reminds ." Damon quickly started conjuring another blood spear. He then poked Necrogod with it. The guy's eyes went wide as he felt another rush of strength and vitality filling him up. Very quickly, he was gaining everything that he had lost.
Necrogod couldn't remain calm anymore. He stood up and clenched his fists, his face turning red. "How are you doing this? How are you able to replenish my stats? Are you using so precious treasure?"
Damon scratched his head. "Sothing like that." He answered vaguely.
Necrogod was officially his follower, but he was not comfortable revealing his bloodline secrets to others just yet. Even if Necrogod was faithful to him, there were ways others could obtain the information, just like his BloodThrall skill and ntal Corruption skill. The sa reason why he hadn't told anyone else.
Necrogod also did not pry any further, only nodding his head.
Seeing him silent like this, Damon awkwardly cleared his throat and started to search for another mory storm they could dive into. "Oh, I see one there. Let's go." Damon was about to run in that direction when a hand appeared on his shoulder.
"Thank you," Necrogod mumbled, his face completely red. "I will… pay you back for this."
Damon knew he was saying sothing seriously but he couldn't help it. He chuckled at the sight of the idiot. Necrogod, pale, red-faced and trembling, looked like he had just confessed under the cherry blossoms of a shoujo ani.
"Bro," Damon wheezed. "Why is your face red?"
Necrogod's face darkened instantly. "I… That's not!"
"I'm kidding, I'm kidding." Damon raised both hands in surrender. "Relax."
Necrogod exhaled slowly, trying to regain composure, but the embarrassnt lingered. Damon's expression softened a little. "You don't owe anything," he said more calmly. "Didn't you help just a while back? This is just a little thank you from my side. Besides, I am one benefitting from your misery. I gained a top-notch follower. You are going to call Master from now on, right?"
Necrogod froze. The color drained from his already pale face so fast it almost looked impressive. "What?"
Damon folded his arms and tilted his head, trying and failing to suppress the grin spreading across his face. "I an, technically… follower status. That makes your superior, doesn't it? So from now on…"
Afraid that the guy would just explode from embarrassnt, Damon stopped teasing him and started heading towards the incoming mory storm. "Let's go. Maybe we find a golden storm or two and see what it really is all about."
Necrogod stood there for half a second longer, staring at Damon's back. "You're unbelievable," he muttered under his breath, but he followed.
The red sands shifted uneasily beneath their feet as the next mory storm ford in the distance. Damon stopped, suddenly changing directions. Unlike the earlier ones, this vortex was denser, its spiral tighter, the wind shrieking instead of howling. Strands of golden light flickered intermittently within the crimson swirl.
"Oh?" His eyes narrowed. "See that? Our luck is getting better and better. Are you ready, Necrogod?"
Necrogod winced. "Just call Vlad, okay." He then looked at the mory storm and his expression changed. "Golden storm! That's definitely a Golden storm! Damon we need to run! Now! Once its fully ford, we will have no choice in the matter. Listen to ."
