Damon knew he had entered a mory world, but he did not let his attention falter. This was not a place to get lost. Not now. Not when everything was aligning.
He stood at the very edge of sothing monuntal, sothing that would define not just his strength, but his entire existence going forward. Every instinct in his body scread at him to stay focused, to not get distracted by anything else. Because this was the cusp.
The most important mont of his life. The Dao of Blood unfolded before him once again, no longer chaotic, no longer fragnted. It flowed like an endless river, vast and boundless, carrying with it the essence of countless lives and countless endings.
He didn't try to grasp it in its entirety. That would be madness. He was only trying to grasp a small part of it, but it was still too vast. The mont he reached for even a fragnt of it, his consciousness trembled.
Damon's brows furrowed. "So even this much is too much, huh?" It did not matter. He was not going to let this chance slip by. He continued persisting when suddenly he felt sothing near him.
Damon beca alert. He quickly summoned his blood avatar. There was nothing concerning. He let his blood avatar deal with it as he shifted his focus back to the great dao. Not that it was helping very much. His mind was wandering constantly, and he simply felt inadequate every ti he tried to grasp sothing. He let out a sigh and tried to focus again. On the side, the blood avatar was slaughtering a bunch of beasts. Damon did not pay much attention to it in the beginning, but after a while, sothing strange happened. His blood avatar for the first ti called for him. Moreover, he also couldn't give any explanation.
Damon frowned and stood up, also looking at the world around him. He was in the middle of a cave, which was convenient. "I need to finish this quickly and get back." Every second he wasted was a setback that could cost him heavily. He teleported to his blood avatar in the blink of an eye.
"What happened?" Damon opened his mouth when his eyes went wide. In front of him was a pile of corpses, his blood avatar had slaughtered. Most of them were C rank, and so were B rank. So even capable of giving heart attacks to most people back on earth. But this was not the shocking part. He had long since surpassed these kinds of beasts, and dealing with them was no big deal. Damon's eyes were instead focused on the big crystal sitting in a corner of the cave.
At first glimpse, it did not look like a treasure, but there was sothing odd about it. Damon imdiately reached forward to grab it. The mont he touched it, an instant wave of clarity assaulted his mind.
Damon trembled as he realized the usefulness of this treasure. With this, he knew he could step into B rank in just a matter of hours. He closed his eyes frozen in spot. He had no idea what this event was but he was going to take every bit of advantage he was getting.
He tightened his grip on the crystal and prepared to dive completely into the Dao when a sharp voice suddenly shattered the silence of the cavern. "Stop right there!" The shrill shout echoed through the cave. "Take your filthy hands off that treasure!"
Damon's eyes slowly opened. A group of figures had entered the cavern. At their center stood a tall young man clad in robes of gold, his expression filled with cold superiority. The man's gaze fell upon Damon as if he were nothing more than an insect.
"We claim this Dao treasure in the na of the Nexxus Empire," one of the armored soldiers declared loudly. His chin lifted proudly. "Only the Golden Son has the right to inherit it."
Damon slowly turned his head toward them. For a mont he said nothing. Then he looked down at the crystal still beneath his hand. Then back at them. A faint smile appeared on his lips. "Oh? And who exactly gave you permission to interrupt ?"
The next few seconds were a blur as Damon took care of the group swiftly. He had no idea how long the item would be stable and he did not want to take his chances. He let his blood avatar clean up the trash and absorb the blood essence and he focused on the treasure.
He closed his eyes and placed his hands on the treasure as a faint stream of energy entered his body. The concepts in his mind beca clearer and clearer and he was able to glean more from the drop of the ancestor's blood. His skill levels also started to skyrocket.
However, just as he was about to shatter the barrier holding him back, the stream of energy stopped. "Damn it. I need more." Damon snapped his eyes open and looked at the bunch of corpses as a thought entered his mind.
This ti he was not the only one who entered this mory world!
A whole group of people had entered and from the looks of it, there should be many treasures scattered around in this world. He silently pondered as he stood up and walked over to the corpses. He then began searching their belongings and going through their storage rings.
His eyes widened at the sheer amount of invaluables. Even a normal soldier was wealthier than him. He quickly amassed everything and kept searching when he finally found the thing he was looking for. A simple token but it was not simple enough.
Thanks to the drop of the ancestor's blood, Damon now possessed a decent knowledge of runes and he was able to sowhat understand the engravings on the token.
He placed a drop of blood on it and it reacted. Yup, he was 100% right on money. These guys managed to co so fast to his location all thanks to this token in his hand. For all intents and purpose, this was essentially a treasure seeking token!
