That was the new dilemma White had to face as he flew across the city beneath him, diving down toward a skyscraper as a laser beam fired at him.
He looked up, not seeing any laser light scanning, and exhaled quietly.
White, in his new form, didn’t exactly fit human, so he had been targeted.
As he stood there in the store room, looking down at the streets where crowds of humans went about their day...
He muttered to himself, and simple as it was, his head was blank.
Most Awakeners never do.
He never had to think of what to eat, or where to sleep, or which clothes to wear, and ultimately, he never had to think about money.
He turned to his wrist and tapped. There was still the runic watch, which he had not yet destroyed, so Humanity Ascension would be able to track him if they ever wanted to talk.
What had happened back then was enough proof of that.
"I need to learn to survive... on my own."

She had heard the powerful wind, and seeing the open window, went toward it, shutting it closed before leaving.
Just not today.
"Here... that’s all we’ve got on us, just don’t kill us."

When they were done, they pushed his head hard, slamming it into the wall before throwing the girl at him.
Unknown to them all, standing on top of a building and watching it all happen without moving was a horned figure whose eyes moved away from the struggling couple to the thieves.
The running lasted only five minutes, and after taking more than ten shortcuts, the thieves found their place.
They looked around, confirming no one was following, before one of them tapped the wall in three special places.
They checked once more before stepping in, as the door shut closed and the wall covered itself.
Repeating the sa action they had, the door opened and he also stepped in, the door shutting closed behind him.
When White stepped in, he waved his hand due to the thick amount of smoke hanging in the air.
Two storeys, with the upper floor having no ceiling but wide openings with railings.
n, most unmasked, smoked heavily, loud boisterous laughter filling the room along with the moans of won in darker corners.
Inside the crimson light, his horns seed to react, releasing a halo of red that instantly drew everyone’s attention.
"Kill!"

A rain of bullets poured toward White, who did nothing at all.
Though that didn’t deter the thieves, who kept crazily shooting while screaming, "Die Beast!"
Then, all of a sudden, the bullets all rained to the ground, forming a small mountain beneath White’s feet.
All the thieves saw was a blur, and all of a sudden, their knees lost strength, and they collapsed face-flat, unconscious.
"Easier than I thought..."
His hand reached down and he began ransacking the thieves’ clothing...their pockets, of course.
White didn’t need fancy gold or any of that nonsense.
A lot of it.
ZIIIIIIP.
...His first step was done.
