"WINNER! TOMAL CHUCK!"
"YEEEEAAAAH!"
"Noooo, you fucking loserrrrrrr!"
The instructor’s announcent was quickly drowned out by the excited screaming of the students.
Calling them students felt a bit weird... bettors might be the right word.
Yep!
Betting was a thing.
Ever since the Cyberpoints Challenge began, students weren’t just fighting each other.
So of the students had thought of a smarter way to make money without putting themselves in harm’s way, and that was to bet on the students challenging each other.
White sat amongst the seats, to the far side being where the bettors were huddled together.
If he rembered correctly, the United Earth Federation greatly frowned on betting amongst students.
They all were made to follow strict military codes, but here in Xtremcyber, the instructors couldn’t care less.
The second fight was quickly called, and another uproar rang out.
In a way, it made the fights even more lively as so were obviously placing most of their points on a fighter and fervently hoped he could win so they’ll make more points.
Whether it was due to the military codes he had followed all through his past life, or just that he thought nothing of betting, White didn’t participate in it.
He ca here for two things.
To watch the fights.
He wanted to see how Psychics truly fought when they ca prepared, and to also take on his first challenge.
"Waaaah. And guess who I found."
The loud voice rang by the side of his ears all of sudden, followed by a weight that hung around his neck as soone slipped into the empty seat by his side.
"Get your hands off my neck."
White said with an exasperated sigh.
"Hey, better watch how you speak to this ti. Your little sis-girlfriend isn’t here to stop ."
She said, dragging his neck closer, and White finally turned to her, his face lighting up from a pink halo.
The pink eyes were the first thing he saw, followed by that pink gem on her forehead that glowed more pink light than he rembered.
It was her, Morgaine, his pink-haired neighbor, and Nova’s friend.
"Sis-girlfriend? Pretty sure that’s not a thing?"
White said, yanking his neck back to continue watching the fight, though the hand only slipped back on.
He eventually rolled his eyes, ignoring it.
"I ca up with the term as it’s the only way to explain the dynamics between the only two Limitless Users amongst the newcors."
"They call themselves twins, but the sister won’t stop blushing secretly after they see each other, and the brother has an aura too cool for a little brother."
"I suspect both of you are either freaks... you especially."
She added and White chuckled.
"Or you’re secretly crushing hard on each other."
"She obviously sucks at hiding that."
"But you, you freak! I know there’s sothing behind that ’I’m too cool for love’ exterior."
"I don’t know what you’re talking about."
White said with a deadpan tone.
"Oh, oh, oh, I bet my gem you do."
She said, staring at the side of his face suspiciously.
"Your gem?"
White noticed her say, turning to look at her, most especially at the gem on her forehead.
"What’s that gem on your forehead anyway? Is that the new fashion amongst you girls? Gems in your foreheads?"
"Seen any other girl around rocking the style?"
She asked humorously.
"No. Just you. What does it do?"
He asked.
"Hmmm, soone sounds curious about all of a sudden. Don’t tell you’ve been dreaming about ..."
She said, leaning closer to White’s eyes and whispering,
"...all night long?"
"Ewwww, you weirdo."
He said, looking at her with a feigned disgust that made her grin.
"I know you are. Do a favor and I’ll satisfy that itch of yours."
"Stop making this sound weird," White said.
"And you’re just going to lie about it anyway?" He added, and her brow constricted.
"And when did I get the liar tag?"
"You know what they call you around here?"
He asked her, as she gave him a cursory glance that said ’what?’
"Pink Mischief. That’s the nickna, they call the fifth in the ranking."
He added and she smiled.
A wicked grin that reached the corners of her ears.
"An expected. You’re truly the psycho I rember eting that day."
He mused, and she took back his hands, placing them to the back of her head.
"The school is too boring. Everyone can use a little bit of chaos."
"All I did was take on a necessary evil of a task. That’s all."
"And you’ve always got an excuse ready as ever."
He mused underneath his breath.
He looked behind him after, his brows creasing before he turned to her, asking,
"Where’s Nova?"
"In the hospital?"
She answered with a shrug, but her face changed as her hands quickly moved,
CLASP!
The sound of clapping echoed as Morgaine giggled.
Her clawed hands were just fast enough to block the hands which were heading straight for her throat.
"Suddenly, feeling like choking ?"
She asked, but White’s dull eyes were as plain as ever.
"Fine. Fine. She’s in the training hall." She said, and only then did he take back his hands.
"Tsk, so much for not caring about her." She mused with a humph, her claws retreating back into her hands.
"You’ve been following each other all this while. Surprised you left her in the training hall to co here alone."
Morgaine grinned.
"You don’t believe ?"
"I do."
He replied, this ti seriously, and her grin paused.
"Just wondering why you’re here, and she chose to remain."
His seriousness seed to impact her too, leading her to respond seriously.
"I’ve got a challenge I need to settle."
"It won’t take too much ti, so I asked her to keep on with her training while I quickly resolve things."
Morgaine answered.
"And who are you fighting?"
White asked.
"Denmark."
She answered, and White’s eyes glead.
"Denmark. Isn’t he the guy with the...?"
He asked, pausing, and she nodded.
"Yes. Him."
Before he could say any more, the announcent rang out.
"NEXT FIGHT!"
"Denmark Hilfiger vs Morgaine Pinkcasio. Please step onto the arena."
"Wish luck... White Freakclaw."
Morgaine shouted out to him.
"It’s Sinclaw!"
White roared back.
"Hehehe."
