[Please don’t compare with this piece of junk]

The golden system panel flashed imdiately, wiping off the blue interface that was before White’s eyes.

[EVER!]

"Okay, okay, fine."

He said, and only then did the golden notification panel disappear, and the blue one reappeared.

It looked almost the sa as usual, but when White stretched his hands forward, he could see his palm shake the interface.

That was a major difference.

The system itself had the panel displayed in his brain, even though it seed to be before his eyes.

But this panel was like a light projection from his eyes cast before him.

Closing his eyes, as expected, the blue panel disappeared.

Only when he opened his eyes did it reappear.

"Still pretty cool seeing sothing so close,"

He mused beneath his breath, but that was by the way.

The panel was still booting, currently at 59%.

Only after 10 minutes did it finish booting, and White quickly went to the Blood Points App.

"Tch, only 25 Blood points!?"

He said, clicking his tongue in dissatisfaction.

Just like Xtrecyber, which used Cyberpoints as currency, the Aether Beyonder Academy does the sa, except instead of Cyberpoints, it uses Bloodpoints.

And Bloodpoints determined everything.

Back in Xtrecyber, Cyberpoints were only used to buy food, train, or access simulations, but here, Bloodpoints were everything.

To eat, you need Bloodpoints; to sleep in a better place, you need Bloodpoints.

To buy genetic cultivation material, you needed Bloodpoints, and to get an instructor to tutor you on a lesson, you also needed Bloodpoints.

Yes, there were no such things as classes here.

Once they were made to undergo the Geno transplant surgery and given the Otherworld Dream manual, they were on their own after.

If they hit a bottleneck, they’ll have to hire an instructor to help them break through it.

Safe to say, surviving in here without Bloodpoints was simply impossible, and having just 25 made White feel sick.

"I need Bloodpoints. The more the better."

He mused, swiping through the panel and going to a different area.

Here, it gave a note on how to earn Bloodpoints.

There were two simple ways:

1. Take it from other students.

2. Complete Academy Missions and earn Bloodpoints as a reward.

There was no third way.

"So, either you beco a bully, or you beco a ssenger, huh?"

[No. Either you beco evil, or you beco a slave.]

"That’s a harsh interpretation."

[It’s the correct one.]

The panel flashed, and White rolled his eyes.

Turning back to the blue panel, he navigated to where the academy missions were.

They were in three rows: Newcors, 2nd years, and 3rd years.

The 2nd and 3rd-year row was locked away from him...for obvious reasons.

That left only the Newcor row, and it was filled with miscellaneous missions, such as looking for a particular type of flower in so area, to bringing back the heart of a particular type of supernatural creature.

The look for plant missions were, of course, rewarded less, about 5-10 points max, though if you found more than 1 plant, that could easily double your reward.

The killing missions, to hunt supernatural creatures, rewarded far more, more than 20, and White even saw one that rewarded 50 Bloodpoints.

Obviously, they were the more rewarding ones, but also the more dangerous.

Still, he knew now that at least he could choose to get more points whenever he wanted.

With that out of the way, he called off the blue panel and reached his hands to his chest.

BAAAADUUUMP

BADUMP

BADUMP

BAAAADUUUMP

BADUMP

BADUMP

It was a weird rhythm as he felt two heartbeats echoing out at the sa ti.

One was his human heartbeat, which pounded slower but louder, while the other was another that pounded faster but quietly.

White didn’t feel any change from having two hearts at all, and for so reason, it was less weird than he expected.

’Activate System Interface.’

It said, and the panel flashed.

[Congratulations on Completing a Secret Mission: Undergo a Geno Transplant Surgery]

’What!?’

’You wanted to fuse with a supernatural part!?’

White asked in shock.

[I don’t generate the quests.]

It said, continuing.

"I’m guessing those extra 20 are due to the heart, right?"

White asked

[Yes. The Genetic transplant le]ads to a minor addition to your strength and agility.]

It said to him, and White humd.

Now he understood what Sir Noringuard, the crimson-haired woman, was saying to him.

Assuming White was truly starting here afresh, and he had chosen the Otherworld dream path of cultivation.

Right now, he would still be trying to fuse with an Otherworlder, and his strength would still be that of an ordinary human.

But those who opted for genetic fusion would have already had their strength and agility boosted by 20 attributes, aning they would easily be twice as strong as he.

With Bloodpoints being the only key to a better life and bullying by students being possible, he would be under threat of losing his 25 Bloodpoints.

Since he would still only have the strength of an ordinary human, he would be easily defeated by those who had undergone genetic fusion and, in the worst case, even killed, sothing that wasn’t exactly against the rules in here.

That prompted the academy to adapt and make the new rule:

Every student undergoes the genetic fusion and then is given the option to either continue on that path or switch to the Otherworld dream.

But at least they won’t be sitting ducks.

Understanding this more clearly now made White less irky from having a supernatural part within him.

Though for sure, he knew one thing:

He would be throwing this heart out of him sooner or later.
